Time Well Wasted - A Mountain Woodland Retreat

We enjoyed a lovely weekend with out-of-town family at this property! It's only an hour from where we live, but my husband and I are already talking about when we can go back to escape everyday life again. The space is beautiful and well-appointed. We had the best of all worlds: shared times in the comfort of this beautiful home and fun times in Townsend. Appreciate the thoughtful communication and ease of entry.

We loved the location and the privacy. Sitting out on the deck was so relaxing. We loved the area!

This is a perfect spot for two couples. We could've easily stayed there a full week and been happy. It was very clean, good cooking and dining supplies, and the living spaces were quite comfortable. We loved the outdoor destinations too. The steps were slightly steep, and one of our party had some mobility challenges. We made it work by walking up the gentle slope around the house to the back entrance.

The owner is great and is right on it. If you need anything, the area is very peaceful and the cabin is roomy and peaceful, great location.

Overall this was a lovely place to stay and we enjoyed our time there. Cleanliness could be improved and some extra blankets would have been helpful during the winter season. (There was only one). The kitchen was well-stocked and I didn’t need most of the kitchen items I brought from home to make Christmas dinner.

Loved the peaceful location. The big sliding back doors gave a great view of the wooded area behind the cabin. It also made it very convenient when taking our furry friend out for his restroom breaks. The cabin was clean and well laid out. Look to stay there another time.

Cabin is well appointed, this is our second stay. Has a good interior layout, (single level) in a good location, close to town.

We stayed at another one of our hosts cabins a couple years ago. It was great then and great now. Cabin was clean and well furnished. Definitely recommend this as a nice getaway.

Great stay! We only rented it for a weekend, but I could definitely come back for a whole week!

Secluded, quiet, property with no through traffic. Property had everything we needed. Kitchen well stocked with appliances, dishes, pots, etc. Good parking. There are definitely bears around this property. We saw a total of 6 bears in a week, but none of them bothered us. Good access to town and the Great Smokey Mountain Nation Park.

Wonderful pet-friendly cabin near all the activities we enjoyed during our stay. Very comfortable accommodations with everything needed for a relaxing vacation! All the extra touches made us feel “at home” and would highly recommend.

First time at this cabin, and highly recommend. View out back of the woods is quiet and peaceful, with deck all around the back. All of Cyndie’s cabins are clean and well maintained, and Cyndie is always a phone call or text away. Check-in went perfect. Bed was comfortable and being there for 2 weeks, washer and dryer came in handy. We love staying in Townsend and go to Cades Cove nearly every day. We saw deer and mother bear with 2 cubs on golf course early morning, and many deer and bear in Cades Cove. Cooler temperatures on our second week was a definite plus, with us being from Florida. I especially enjoy photographing the birds and animals in Cades Cove, which I attached a few of my pictures. We will definitely be back again and highly recommend this cabin.

1. Cigarette butt left on deck railing by door when we arrived.2. No hot tub as said in listing.3. Smelly Oder when we walked in.4. Found Oder when leaving today. There was rank liquid in bottom of kitchen trash bin when I pulled out garbage bag. I rinsed trash bin but no time to dry it out.5. Other than above points we really enjoyed our stay…nice cabin!

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at this property. It is exceptionally well-maintained and spotlessly clean, which immediately made us feel comfortable and at home. In fact, the property looks even better in person than it does in the photos—the pictures truly don’t do it justice. Every detail has clearly been cared for, from the upkeep of the home itself to the cleanliness of every corner.The location is perfect—tucked away in a peaceful, secluded area that offers plenty of privacy and quiet, yet still conveniently close to stores, restaurants, and other amenities. It’s the best of both worlds: serene surroundings for relaxation, but with everything you need just a short drive away.We experienced no issues whatsoever during our stay, and it’s clear that the owners take pride in ensuring guests have a wonderful experience. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway or a comfortable base to explore the area, I can’t recommend this property enough. It truly exceeded our expectations in every way, and we would happily return in the future.

This was an excellent Cabin and great place to stay. The cabin was immaculate, generously stocked with dishes, towels and some necessities. Cindie is definitely a prime hostess and would rent from her again. Pic of the backyard.

We loved the cabin and area! The house was clean, tastefully decorated, well stocked and beautiful! We saw a bear walk by the back porch the first night!! It was secluded enough that you couldn't see other cabins around you. We never heard other people even though there is a cabin not to far away. Beds were comfortable and very spacious bedrooms! Was a nice touch that they had the switches labeled so you knew what to use to turn on lights and fans. Seemed a little odd not to have sink in with second bathroom but definitely not anything couldn't adjust to. We would stay there again and recommend it to anyone that wants a little peace and quite while visiting the hustle and bustle of the Smokey Mountains.

We had a wonderful stay at this home. It is a very peaceful place nestled in the mountains. Our only complaint was that it is advertised with a hot tub and there is not a hot tub on the property. There is a jetted tub in one of the bedrooms, but definitely not the same as a hot tub. Other than that, it was a perfect getaway in the Smoky Mountains. It was clean and fully stocked with anything we needed. Bonus we saw a bear

First time to stay in Townsend and it was truly the quiet side. Property is located in a pretty area with a golf course and club house. It is not hard to access and has good parking. Secluded but other cabins in the vicinity. Cabin was exactly as pictured and very clean. Had no problems and enjoyed our visit!

Clean well maintained.

We had a great time. The cabin is a great place to stay if you enjoy nature. Townsend is a great little town. We visited Cades cove several times seeing several deer, turkey, coyotes, and black bears. We even spotted a momma bear and 2 cubs from the deck of the cabin. I do wish it had a hot tub. The listing should say jacuzzi tub.

This property is tucked back away from almost everything. There is one more cabin right as you top the driveway coming into time we'll wasted. We love Townsend more and more each time we come back. The cabin is very nice and there was plenty of room. Has everything you need for a nice quiet stay.host communication was excellent and they were very nice. We certainly will be back.

The cabin was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies. The area was beautiful and so quiet, we absolutely loved it!

After being in the Busy side of the Smokies, we enjoyed the quaint, quietness of Townsend. Everything was perfect except that we were expecting a hot tub, not just an inside spa tub.

We enjoyed this little cabin so much! It was the perfect get away for what we wanted. Peaceful and quiet at all times. Very comfortable place to spend our days.

Yet again this cabin didn’t disappoint ! We love coming to stay here and will definitely be back.

We loved our stay at time well wasted! Very clean , secluded and so close to town. We ate at all local restaurants in Townsend and rode our E bikes through town and also through the cabin resort and by the golf course! Beautiful stay and would definitely recommend and would love to come back !

This property met the needs of my family during our extended Christmas stay. There were some issues upon check-in, but they were resolved quickly.

Enjoyed our stay at TWW - all the amenities we required were provided - the only reason I would not give 5 stars on cleanliness, the edge around the coffee table has not been dusted in a very long time and piles of leaves had accumulated on the steps and patio (which we swept) - very nice home and convenient location

This is at least our 4th time staying at this property, and we’ve already booked our stay for 2025! This property is such a special place and is located in a peaceful and gorgeous setting. Highly recommend it for your stay in the Townsend area. Cyndie is wonderful and quick to respond, too.

Perfect set up for two couples to stay together. There was a bathroom for each of us and more than adequate space in the living room and kitchen for us to eat, play games and visit together.

Perfect location for exploring GSMNP! We loved the remote feeling, very private but easy access to all of Townsend's shopping and dining. We will definitely return!

We have stayed at this property before and loved the cabin and the location, however, during this stay, it became obvious that there is a serious problem with mold and mildew in the house. It is very musty smelling and incredibly humid in the house, even with the A/C running. I never had this problem until this visit but unfortunately, will not be able to stay here again because of the mold issue. The owner is a lovely person and the home is well-maintained, well-stocked and in a great location, so it makes me sad. Hopefully others will not experience a reaction to the mold. The home could benefit significantly from a dehumidifier and perhaps an inspection of the crawl space to determine if this is where the mold problem is originating.

As usual Cyndie's cabins are always clean and comfortable. Cabin location was easily accessible yet was quiet and private. Another great stay in Townsend!

My husband and I visited this cabin for the 4th time, this time for a week on our honeymoon. It was peaceful, quiet, and serene as always. Loved listening to the sounds of nature and nothing else on the back patio. No bears at the cabin for us, but saw a large and small coyote on separate occasions. Love this special place and will always recommend highly.

We enjoyed our stay! The location was convenient to the start line for our Great Smoky Mountains Half Marathon event.

We traveled for our 30th anniversary to Townsend. We have stayed multiple times in properties with Cynthia, and other owners when her properties were booked up! I will say we had bad experiences with other property owners but never with Cynthia. Her properties are always greatly stocked, well taken care of, and very clean. We only had an issue with the grill. There was not extra propane but that’s an easy mishap which is easily rectified by the ease of staying with you. We will be looking to book again next year. Thank you for a pleasant peaceful stay yet again. Loved this cabin so far the most of all the properties we have stayed at.

Beautiful cabin in great area. We loved looking at surrounding woods without being close to look in to other cabins! This was just the right distance away. Close to Cades Cove & Townsend, the peaceful side of the smokies. Everything we needed was available in the cabin. But… the oven was dirty & was smoky on the first use until we cleaned it, & there was a lot of dust in the whirlpool & on baseboards, definitely think the cleaning crew isn’t doing their whole job! But would consider staying again if we are in the area.
