The cabin was adorable. The property was private and perfect for relaxing outside and playing with our pup. The main reason we chose this location was the view, and we were not disappointed! We look forward to booking again.
This was exactly what we wanted! Quiet with a gorgeous view! There’s no TV which is so nice! We went for lots of walks and drives and explored the area. The Mountain Life Kitchen down the road is great!! Our only issue was the shower leaks onto the floor and there’s duct tape in it where water has gotten inside and pulled the paneling off. It also feels like the flooring is lifting where water has gotten underneath. For everything else this cabin has to offer this was worth over looking!! Highly recommend! Super clean otherwise!
This was an absolute gem of a find. So serene, beautiful views and plenty to do. The hosts were amazing, thinking of everything you might need during your stay...even bacitracin for a minor knee scrape. We would 100% recommend this cabin to anyone looking to unplug and just relax.
This is a very nice place for a weekend getaway. The view on the Potomac is unbeatable. The cabin is very well stocked and clean. Mountainside was responsive to any questions we had before our stay, and the place was easy to find. The drive up on the gravel is doable even with a regular sedan. Happy to recommend!
Beautiful cabin in an idyllic setting with spectacular views of the adjacent river valley! Nearby road is a little noisy but it did not interfere with our stay. We will definitely be returning to the Flying E! Directions to the trash receptacle need to be redone--we searched the entire neighborhood based on the directions and never found it. First time we've ever packed our trash home with us!
This property was great! Awesome view and very peaceful. Love seeing the eagles fly over, watching the lizards, seen wild turkey, a turtle ( named him Fred)
Great place. Found a burin the freezer —we scrubbed it up a bit
Great spot to get away from it all
Very lovely and quiet. Brighter light bulbs are needed since most are low wattage bulbs - makes reading difficult. That being said, we loved our stay at the cabin. I feel that going later in the year [we went in late March] would be better and would lend to seeing more birds and other wildlife, however, we did see two flocks of wild turkey and some deer. The cabin is well stocked with spices and things in the kitchen, and the grill works well. One might want to bring their own grilling tools since we found none. We slept in the loft [king size bed] and found it very comfortable. The main level is very nicely appointed. The gravel road in is rough and needs some grading - probably will be done later in the season. If you want a quiet and beautiful secluded place to stay, I highly recomment this cabin.
Nice cabin in a remote location. Sadly, there was no mention of the trains that go by honking their horns at all hours of the day and night. This is heard within the cabin and kept me from a decent night's sleep. There are stink bugs on the inside of the cabin and I was dive bombed by them while relaxing. They also come out at night and bang around the cabin's inside walls. It is still a really nice cabin, clean and modern and great for noisy families and pets. I would not recommend it as quite get away, but as a family friendly vacation.
My wife and I wanted to get away from our busy lives and this was just the place. The log cabin was just what we needed. Very cozy and great views. 40-45 minutes from Berkeley Springs. We brought our own groceries so we can confirm not much around otherwise. We would definitely go back!!
I was looking for a place to get away and recharge and this property was perfect for that. Remote, yes. There is only one other building visible from the cabin. The road to the property is not paved, but was drivable. The view overlooking the Potomac River is spectacular and lived up to my expectations. I saw eagles every morning and lots of other birds as well. The cabin was very well stocked. The kitchen had everything you could want/need and then some. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable. The loft bedroom stairs might be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues, but apart from that caveat, an all-around excellent place to stay put and relax.
We had an absolute blast over the Thanksgiving holiday! My husband and I brought our 9 year old daughter and my father. It was nice having a first floor bathroom and bedroom as my father doesn't get around so well these days. The house was spotless upon arrival. Even being dog friendly you would never know it. The house comes with everything you need to be at home including a fully stocked kitchen. There is no TV but the wifi signal is fantastic. We just brought a small TV and a firestick with us and it worked great. The views are amazing but I will caution you can hear traffic on the road below from outside. You can't hear it inside however. It was SO quiet inside! Beds are super comfy and the water pressure in the shower was amazing! We brought gates and were able to gate our dogs in on the porch so they could lounge in the sun. The stars! I've never seen so many! And we didn't see another human being the entire stay. Privacy at its finest! Do note that the trash disposal is down the road in front of another cabin, but I'm to understand there was no trash pick up previously so it's better than nothing. Just be prepared. The host is super friendly and communication was amazing. We even ended up staying an extra night! The fireplace was really nice but it gets HOT up in the loft. Keep that in mind if you get hot at night. I intend to bring a small fan the next time we visit. So many personal touches. We left a puzzle behind for the next guests to enjoy. If you ever decide to sell this house. Please contact us!! LOL. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be returning!
This was home-base for a fantastic three night stay for my wife and me. We were planning to camp this weekend but pivoted to this cabin rental, due to Hurricane Ian. Best decision ever. Enjoyed the indoor and outdoor recreation the property provides. The property is clean and charming with a well-stocked kitchen. Though there are no televisions, we packed a projector and the internet supported the streaming of our football games. There is a fire pit on site and several chairs to enjoy the evening fire. When the weather switched we enjoyed the fireplace inside and did not skip a beat. Definitely recommend this property and we will be coming back for sure.
From the moment we pulled into the driveway, we felt at peace. The spectacular views welcomed us as much as the warm, rustic feel of the cabin, inside and out. We had every imaginable amenity there for our use and everything is labeled for easy finding. The property has space for dogs to play, to relax with morning coffee and to sit by the fire on chilly evenings. Inside, the decor provides the perfect space for cooking, gathering, reading and restful sleeping. We also enjoyed the history of the property and exploring the wooded path! The owners have taken tremendous care to provide a truly wonderful experience. Highly recommend!!
This is a cozy cabin in a beautiful spot. It is the best-stocked cabin I have ever rented. The internet was good enough to work remotely. We will definitely be back.
