Stayed Nov 7, 2025Property is secluded but at the same time very near to Townsend proper. Very amiable neighbor man engaged me in friendly conversation. The exterior has a nice wraparound porch on two sides, with a convenient boardwalk bordering the back side. Interior was a 10/10 on cleanliness. The loft bedroom was a pleaser for one of my daughters. My guess is that this cabin is a recent purchase for the current owners. This house needs to have a little more maintenance, as the central heat was having issues. I have to say the property management company was extremely responsive on getting the issue resolved. A technician was sent out the same day we called in the problem. Also 2 lightbulbs in different fixtures were burned out, but that was taken care of, as well. We could never get the hot tub up to a comfortable temperature, even after completing a reset…twice. House is dark, especially in the kitchen and the secondary bathroom. It was disclosed in the description, but I have never rented a property at which you have to buy your own propane for the gas grill. This may have been due to the fact that the gas fireplace was also hooked up to a 20lb. bottle, which would make it very expensive because of heavy usage if you used the grill propane for that heater.

Stayed Oct 9, 2025We had a great time at The Skinner’s Cabin. It was a somewhat older, but very clean, property. We enjoyed the layout and the hot tub very much. One thing that renters should know is that the property is located up a very steep road with the last 50 – 60 feet being on an unpaved rock/gravel road. I would not recommend checking in after the sun has set. If you are renting a vehicle, getting a 4WD vehicle may be helpful.
