Jemez Springs, New Mexico
Relax at this quaint but spacious 1950's log cabin nestled in the Ponderosa pines at nearly 8,000 feet.
You won't want to leave the front porch with its view of a relaxing meadow and towering Redondo Peak. Oh, and your senses will be filled with the beauty of the pines. We even provide the coffee for your cozy mornings on the porch.
The four bedrooms sleep eight comfortably, but which room will you choose The Log Cabin Room Flower room Bird room or Western room They are all decorated just for you.
The Pines is located within 2 miles of trout fishing, hiking, a convenience store, liquor store and Spence Hot Springs. It's just a short drive to Jemez Falls, Soda Dam, Fenton Lake, Valles Calderas and the town of Jemez Springs.
This updated cabin is stocked with Internet, toys, a record player, records and flat screen TV with 150 DVDs ready to watch. A landline phone with unlimited calls (within the US) is available since cell phone service is sketchy in the area.
The property has a propane grill and two fireplaces - one electric and one wood-burning. Stocked with most cooking utensils and appliances and even some basic condiments, you'll be cooking up a storm in no time. A clothes dryer is available for use, but there is no dishwasher, so roll up your sleeves.
The cabin is the perfect place for a family gathering, group get-together or a couple's romantic getaway. Snuggled at the end of a neighborhood, we ask that you respect our neighbors by keeping the noise down.
You may see an elk, bobcat or deer mosey through the area. But don't leave food outside, for bears visit too.
Remember - this is a rustic, 65-year-old log cabin in the middle of the woods. It is not a pristine city resort-that's why it's so charming.
Loved the cabin and the way it is decorated. My father wanted let you know that you are a “classy lady.” He loved loved looking at deer and the birds from the porch. He slept in the bird room and enjoyed it. Close to everything, hikes, fishing, etc.
Wonderful time in the Jemez Mountains. Love staying at this cabin!
Very easy to relax and unwind. Location perfect for short fishing excursions around the Jemez. Kitchen is stocked with everything. Just bring food. The house is stocked with all kinds of activities to keep you entertained. Perfect for family event or small group gathering. The best part was eating on the porch! Thank you, Martha and Daniel.
Had a great time and hope to return soon
My group has stayed here every year since 2016 except 1 when I did not make the reservation in time. The Cabin fits our needs perfectly with 4 bedrooms, a large central living area, two bathrooms and a porch with a fantastic view to the north. We can see Redondo Peak from the porch and can watch the bats come out at dusk. It is typically quiet and peaceful.
I got this cabin because my daughter from Florida and her family were coming to Albuquerque. I wanted to visit with them. My other daughter who lives in Denver came with me with her three kids. I felt like we were being spied on with the ring doorbell. I had them over for dinner so we could all visit and get together and it was brought to my attention that only eight people were allowed on the premises. There were only five of us a two year old, which I got charged extra for that stayed at the house because I originally put four people, so I ended up paying over $1000 to stay there. There was a mouse in the house that got entire food. There were dead bugs in the windowsills and dust all over the place. The place needs a thorough cleaning, we left it in better shape, cleaning wise than white. It was when I got there. Also, I was told that the wash machine went bad and so there was no wash machine for us to use. Be careful because this property is on a septic system, and that seems to be an issue with the owner.
Spacious and comfortable. Nice bedrooms. Short drives to many recreation and points of interest. Wi-fi worked well. This is a true vacation cabin like I the ones I grew up with.
Cabin was great. The area so relaxing. Couldn’t ask for any more
Really love our time at the cabin. The humming birds were wonderful. We love the views and taking walks. Looking forward to our next time there. Thank you!!
Our two families enjoyed the cabin for a long weekend. Great fun for young kids and adults, relaxing patio, well supplied kitchen, furnishings, etc. Some spiderwebs and insects in and around the cabin, as one would expect for a wooded cabin location. Terrific communication from owner on access, details on cabin, and check-in, check-out,
We enjoyed our stay at The Pines. Nice quiet location in the woods. Enjoyed the movies, records, car port and front porch. We sat most evenings on the front porch watching the hummingbirds come and go. The cabin was spacious and well appointed with most everything you would need. The only disappointment was the cleanliness of the cabin, we appreciated the host being attentive to that and making it right for us. Would stay here again should we find ourselves in Jemez.
We really enjoyed our vacation at the pines. Cozy and fit all our needs. We made such great memories. We will definitely book this cabin again!
This cabin is great if you are looking for a peaceful retreat in the woods!! Martha is so sweet and the cabin is fully stocked for a weekend of fun relaxation. We grilled, played games, hiked, visited the local hot springs, and enjoyed lots of coffee on the porch. Would highly recommend!!
The surroundings were beautiful. It still snowed in April but the children loved it. Lots of wildlife around and peace and quiet. There is tons to do in Jemes springs and we did most of the recommended hikes. The mountains are breathtaking. The cabin is old but comfortable. It took us a bit to warm it up when we got there. My 3 year old enjoyed the toys that were in the cowboy room and us adults enjoyed the puzzles and the TV.
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Pines. The Cabin is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable getaway. We particularly enjoyed the access to high speed internet for streaming movies after our long days of hunting the Valles Caldera. The location is perfect - only 15 minutes for the Valles Caldera. Five stars and hope to stay again.
Cabin was very comfortable. Location is great and we truly enjoyed our time on our late season trip.
Martha was very easy to communicate with and answered all of my questions prior to our trip. Cabin was cute and quaint!
