Our beautiful A-frame cabin overlooks the Shenandoah River. It is ideally suited for couples or small families seeking the perfect mountain getaway, complete with unbeatable views. Enjoy the scenery from the rooftop deck, screened porch, or by the fire pit at this year-round riverfront retreat. Additionally, there is a newly added hot tub that accommodates two people!

Our cabin is located on a beautiful bend on the Shenandoah river, complete with a picturesque view of the mountains in the background. There is much to explore outdoors, but the indoor space will keep you cozy when you want to kick your feet up.

The open concept floor plan allows for plenty of mingling and family time, but when it's time to turn down for the night, everyone will enjoy their own private areas.

The loft hideaway area is accessible by a ladder, which is perfect for small children to sneak away for their own movie time, but only under the supervision of an adult.

Prime location for canoeing, fishing, hiking & biking - the perfect escape to relax in the woods, on the water and to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Shenandoah.

Some other things to note about The Perch:

- Early check-in or late check-out may be available, ask us!

- The base rate includes 3 guests. Each additional guest is $30 per night. Please read the itemized charges carefully!

- Dogs are welcome! There is a limit of 3, with a pet fee of $75 per dog. Unfortunately, we can't accept cats. Sorry about that!

-There is no trash service in this area. We ask that you please take your trash with you- there is information in the cabin on where to take it so that you don't have to take it all the way home with you!

Alternatively, housekeeping can remove it for you for a tip of $5 per bag.

-A separate security deposit is required for this property. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions—we are happy to answer them!

- The Perch has a security camera located on the property, pointed toward the driveway.

- PLEASE NOTE: The firewood charge of $10/night is for the outdoor fire pit. If you don't think you will use the firewood or would like to bring your own, please let us know! We are more than happy to issue a refund for that.

We are convenient to the Shenandoah River (in the backyard!), Luray Caverns (22 minutes), Skyline Drive (30 minutes), Skyline Caverns (43 minutes), Cooters Luray (23 minutes), an 18 Hole Golf Course at the Caverns Country Club (20 minutes), George Washington National Forest, Shenandoah National Park, Bass Fishing, Trout Fishing, Wildlife Observation, Antiquing, Summer Swimming, Horseback Riding, Sightseeing, Hunting, Canoeing and Tubing.

They let us check in early which was great. View of river and wildlife is beautiful and relaxing. Hot tub had a nasty odor, and a brownish film. Contacted upon arriving, they sent someone out that said they didnt have the correct tools and would be back the next morning to drain and clean the hot tub. No one ever came back. Hot tub continuously ran. Cabin its self did not look like the pictures. Pictures must have been taken years ago. Seems like no one maintains or clean property on regular basis. Leak in dinning room ceiling. Spider webs and bugs throughout cabin. Comforter on one of beds was visibly dirty. Would not book this location in future.

Summery of our stay is in the first photo. It could have been better much better. Whoever is responsible for maintaining and the upkeep of this place should be replaced or fired. We have vacation and rental properties ourselves and I would be ashamed if one of our renters paid their hard earned money for something like this.

We absolutely loved staying at The Perch and look forward to staying here again. The cabin itself was perfect for us and the location on the river cant be beat! We enjoyed seeing the heron and osprey while out in the canoe as well as each day from the comfort of the two rocking chairs and hammock near the river!

It is a small rustic home in a secluded bend of the river the views from the roof deck are gorgeous. The home is simple and has had some water damage over the years. I would recommend bringing bottled watered for the well water smells like river water. My wife and myself enjoyed the peace and seclusion and would consider staying there again.

My husband and I got this cabin as a getaway. The location was great, there were neighbors on either side but the fence and foliage makes it feel pretty private. The cabin felt a little more aged than the photos showed and unfortunately We didnt get to use the hot tub, it had some stuff in the water. Otherwise it served us ok for what we were looking for.

A wonderful little A-frame style cabin located right along a bend in the Shenandoah River and just 20 minutes from Luray! It was the perfect little weekend getaway spot to disconnect for a while and enjoy nature.

Great getaway with 2 adults, tween and child. There was enough room for all. The nook was a hit with the kids. The area was very quiet and relaxing. It snowed while we were there and the roads were plowed fast. House was very clean and well stocked. There was plenty of cookware and spices available. Would definitely come back.

My birthday weekend was such an enjoyable one at the Perch. Great views of the mountains and the river added to a quiet and peaceful environment. The cabin was very clean and comfortable with everything in working order. The host was very helpful and quick to respond when asked questions about the heating and cooling functions. Plenty of activities on the property. We will definitely stay again !!!

The Perch was everything listed on the description! We enjoyed sitting down by the water, a fire in the fire pit and the hot tub. It was a bit of a drive from where we hiked, but it was well worth it for the views of the water.

It’s a remote and beautiful location on the river. We stayed two nights and spent the days in Shenandoah National Park. The late afternoons/evenings next to the river were peaceful and relaxing, and using the fire pit is a great end to a day of outdoor activity. The upstairs bed was very comfortable.

This place was absolutely amazing. We had two adults, two tweens, and our big labradoodle. The check-in was easy via a code and key. The house was clean and the AC was so cold. It felt great. The beds and pillows were comfy. Lots of towels and some throw blankets. We used the kitchen and fire pit to cook full meals. The dog enjoyed the screened in porch while we were in the yard. We spent all day by the fire pit and down at the river fishing. We were there during all the hurricane Helene storms so there was a lot of rain which caused a rough river. We were not able to go in the water but we watched so many logs washing down the river. The kids loved it. There is plenty of firewood. There were two chairs attached to the pier, a picnic table, and other stumps to sit on but we had brought our own canvas chairs. Overall it was a great stay and we would go back for sure!

Cozy place and beds were comfy but the smoke alarm woke us up at 530 and there was no fire! Someone sprayed the lattice work at the bottom of the house and didn’t check to see what was behind it so the canoe kayak and paddles all had white paint splatters on them.WiFi was horrible tried to get a fishing license online and couldn’t or get a txt out. Some spots in the screened in porch need to be sealed and this would cut down on the amount of bugs entering this area too.Cars went very fast on the road in front of the house also!
