The Lehigh Cabin - Riverfront Escape- 1 mile private river

The property was quiet, picturesque, and peaceful.

I definitely want to start by saying we did enjoy our stay and our dog especially loved the river. While I completely understand that it is a cabin in the woods and certain things are expected, but there were a few things that definitely could have made it better. There were areas in the cabin that need attention, the floor throughout was very dirty, under the bed and other furniture was really filthy, one of the front casement windows had a broken crank so it was difficult to open just a little and with there being no air conditioning all the windows had to be open. The bathroom window really needs a shade or curtain especially because people from the other houses had walked in front of the cabin to see the river, the shower curtain was too long and it was hard to not step on it when showering, the drain is extremely slow so the tub filled with water making the curtain situation worse, the shelves and counter in the kitchen were very dirty including a power strip for the microwave and toaster oven. The location is great, perfect for unwinding from the stress that is every day life so I don’t want to say it’s all bad, but it’s frustrating when you pay a cleaning fee and another large fee for bringing our dog, if everyone is paying that cleaning fee the place should be clean when you arrive. Everything that made the stay less than perfect can easily be corrected with minor repairs and a deep cleaning so I think that’s why it bothered me so much.

If you’re looking for a restful few days, this is the place for you. The property is pretty secluded and it has a small trail that takes you to river’s edge. There is also a waterfall on the property that is easily accessible without much fuss or walking. The cabin is located amongst other houses that appear to be available for rental as well, but during our stay, we were the only ones staying. It was very peaceful and great to give our small dogs some space to rn around. It is however worth mentioning that it is booked through VRBO and not Expedia, so do expect other fees that are not listed on Expedia. And it has other rules (taking trash out, extra cleaning if needed etc). So know when booking the price listed won’t be your final price. You may return some day.

At first when you pull in we didn’t expect the cabin to be so close to a few other buildings, the owners home. However it was so cozy and cute! We loved the peacefulness of being on the river! It was the perfect size and gateway! Absolutely stunning views and defiantly worth taking the hike to the back of the property with the picnic table!

Nice but.... Not for us. No a/c was a problem for us on the hottest weekend of the year and being at the race track all day. Shower curtains in the bathtub were moldy and there is some black shading around where the lower walls in the bedroom which made me feel like there was a mold in there. Very dusty.

Loved every bit of it. Couldn't ask for anything different and the people on the property were just as amazing. Cant wait to go again/

My boyfriend and I spent a long weekend here and absolutely loved it! Beautiful property right next to the water! Cabin is super cozy and very clean. Perfect size for a couple trying to get away. Outside fire pit and indoor fireplace really give the cabin a nice homey feeling. Planning on coming back again since out first visit was amazing!

It was beautiful and a perfect peaceful place to stay. It was relatively clean. Under and on top of tv table was very dusty. We had to wipe out the fridge when we got there. Hence a 4. Everything else was clean. The nightly price was not bad but there should have been firewood at least for one night in our opinion 100 to fish in a stream that clearly had not been stocked recently was way overpriced. The view, location and waterfall were fabulous.

Fantastic location, with the river right outside the door! Very relaxing and cozy, a good place to unplug! I did have to learn how to properly use a fireplace without smoking the place out! Very close to hiking and skiing if that's your thing.

We needed a quiet place for the weekend. This one was great. Right on the river. Open the windows or door and you hear the sound of the river flowing by. Will be back for another visit.

We stayed for a long weekend and found the cabin comfortable and generally very clean. A few small areas could’ve used more attention, like under the TV stand, a couple of dust webs, and wiping down the appliances, but nothing that affected our stay. The bed was comfortable and waking up to fresh snow on our last morning was a nice surprise.A couple of things to note: there are no curtains in the cabin except in the bedroom. The living room view of the trees and river is beautiful, but the lack of privacy in the bathroom felt a bit vulnerable to my wife. The window looks directly into the shower and provides a clear waist-up view, which made her uncomfortable. On the third night she realized she could hang a towel over the shower rod for privacy so she felt more at ease.If you’re sensitive to scents, be aware that the cabin has a strong, lingering fireplace smell. It’s not something the hosts can really fix at this point - it seems to be embedded in the cabin itself. You do get used to it after a while, but you’ll notice it each time you come back inside, and the scent will cling to your clothes and luggage once you head home.We ate out during our trip and like the local places. Don’t overlook Da’s Pub - it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food was very good. We also enjoyed Murphy’s Loft, which we visited on a previous trip to the area.Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but if we were to return, we might try one of the owner’s other rentals.

The cabin is cozy, and makes you feel right at home from the second you walk in. With the Lehigh river below you there’s no doubt you’ll be able to relax. Even in the low 20’s the cabin was toasty warm. The history surrounding the cabin and town made for an even better experience. I would highly recommend this cabin for a perfect weekend getaway

Wow! this was such a nice getaway for my wife and I! So quiet and relaxing, fireplace was mesmerizing , wildlife, great communication with any thing we needed! Can't wait to come here again! This was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. The host was very communicative even in the late evening as we were arriving. The cabin was just as described and the scenery even more beautiful then pictured. It was just enough room for two with a big fire place and a very comfortable bed. Everything was so rustic and cute we really couldn't have asked for anything more. We are already planning our return trip. Thank you!

I gifted myself and mini retreat at this lovely little cabin in the Poconos. It was so quiet and private. I love listening to the river outside the front door. Experienced a little snow fall. Just the kind of environment I was looking for to tune in and tune out. I will probably be back!

The property was beautiful, but the failing railing is a liability. There were a lot of spider webs in the cabin and it could use a new shower curtain as their was mildew on it.

Everything was perfect

While the cabin was cute, and located by a beautiful river, it was not very clean (floors, under furniture, walls) and smelled of woodfire smoke. We aired it out, which seemed to help. When I booked this property, I remember seeing it had cable and Wi-Fi. Upon arrival, the cable was unhooked, and a fire stick was in the tv instead, and getting live stations was difficult. The Wi-Fi was weak, as we had difficulty sending and receiving emails. A new sofa and a more comfortable bed would be nice. We enjoyed outside tremendously, while the weather was nice.

This was my 2nd year staying with my dog except I doubled the length of my stay this time! The cabin is a little slice of heaven, and I am already planning to book again next year. My bf stayed with my the first 3 days, and I stayed solo with the pup for the remainder of the week. It really is perfect for both!!! Looking forward to coming back so much that I might squeeze in another trip before next fall

Loved the cabin and it's conveniently located to many historical towns. The walk down to the waterfall was also a bonus.

Was a lovely stay with my partner, we had a heartfelt time enjoying the tucked away vibes of a place less detached from the busy world. Wish it was safer to walk closer to the river. Overall very welcoming place though, close to Hickory Run which rules.

The Lehigh Cabin brings to life historical industry and settlement in N.E. Pa, in the midst of incredible natural beauty of oak forest, river and waterfalls, and deep quiet that allowed us to hear the sounds of nature. The cabin itself is a delight, esp. the fireplace for evening relaxation. There is an ambiance of stepping back into a time gone-by. We recommend it heartily!

Simple, basic cabin in a beautiful setting right overlooking the Lehigh River. Check-in was easy, hosts were responsive and we had all we needed

Due to some unforseen circumstances we were uable to stay at this property so I will not give a rating for the Lehigh Cabin. However, due to the kindness of some very gracious hosts we were able to spend 3 nights in the Lehigh Lodge, which we enjoyed immensely. It was a wonderful place to spend our 40th wedding anniversary, and my wife and I were very happy with it. We would gladly recommend this cabin to anyone who wants a quiet getaway in a beautiful place.

The cabin had a nice, cozy ambiance. We enjoyed our time there very much, especially the privacy aspect and the lovely river view. You expect a cabin experience to not be luxurious with lots of bells and whistles - having said that, a main issue was the lighting, or lack thereof. Every room was insufficiently lighted, except for the bedroom. We couldn't use the microwave or toaster oven effectively because we couldn't see the dials. The bathroom was too dark for me to put on makeup. My husband almost fell getting out of the tub because he couldn't see where he was stepping very well. The living room had only 2 lamps for the whole room, and the wattage in the bulbs was so low I was unable to read at night.

Cabin is exactly as advertised. River is right outside the front door in a very tranquil area. Sofa should be replaced but bed was comfortable. Kitchenette had everything I needed to make my own breakfast.

Except for the weather (rain & excessive heat), this is a very peaceful place. Sitting outside over the river side listening to the river flow and watching the bald eagle(s) fly to and fro is very relaxing. Lots of activities in the area and good restaurants in Blakeslee and Lake Harmony & Boulder Lake area.

saw tons of birds sitting on the front porch. waxwings, black and white warblers, great blue herons, song sparrows. Even though the neighboring units about 150 ft to the left and 150ft behind us were occupied, they were quiet.
