The Hideout in Hocking Hills | Cozy Couples Escape

This property wasn’t as advertised, poor condition, dirty, hot tub didn’t work and host wouldn’t respond all week until bad review was left. The property didn’t look properly cleaned after the previous guest.

Nice quiet spot. Was very clean. Hot tub was small and older and could have been a little warmer.

The host clearly explained the check in and check out process. The property was very clean and nice. It was the perfect size cabin for a little couple getaway in the hocking hills area.

Had a wonderful, relaxing time with my wife. We went for walks, enjoyed a cozy fire, and escaped from the world. It is exactly what we both needed.

Very cute place to stay for couple’s! Very clean and felt spacious. Hot tub was very clean and was a welcome home when we had hiked all day! Only thing I would say is we could have used more than just 2 of each silverware, and would prefer a propane grill. Would definitely return

House smelled very nice but for the price it was not up to expectations. We paid over 1000.00 with fees and such which to me is high. I would have expected the fan in the living room to work, a dishwasher so we didn’t have to hand wash dishes, and def not plastic furniture out by the hot tub especially one chair broken. Def over priced but a quiet area.

Was a nice place needed to have a extra blanket to use and a light bulb for refrigerator but overall very nice stay

Appreciated how clean the house was. Owner/real estate office was upfront about the hot tub being broken and refunded some of our payment before we even arrived. Understand that the house is meant for two and is stocked for only two. Would have liked more than three forks/spoons/glasses in the cupboard to avoid constant washing. Enjoyed the fire pit.

Everything was great. The only issue was not being able to use the hot tub because it wasn't able to heat up.

It was very cozy. We had all the amenities that we needed. It was a nice get away and semi secluded.

This cabin was the perfect place for our much needed get away. Perfect size for two people. Everything we needed for a nice, quiet, peaceful getaway. We very much enjoyed the nice shower, hot tub, and fire pit. Close to attractions and eateries, and great coffee shop. We loved every minute, and so did our fur babies. We will definitely stay again.

Overall love the experience with my other my other only issue we had was the got tub the controll system eas busted and we didnt want/k ow how to operate it and possibly a better internet service like starlink or something cause you are in a middle of zero signal or sos mode once your off property

This was a great place for a one-person mini-vacation. Small, clean, well-stocked, and not too close to the road.My only complaint, if you could even call it that, was that a strong-smelling detergent or cleaner was used, which irritated my nose and eyes all weekend.I will definitely book here again!

The location was beautiful. The cabin was nice. There was a lot of issues the ceiling fans one of them didn’t work one didn’t have a button to turn it on or off. Hot tub wasn’t working correctly. Fireplace didn’t work. There was just a few issues that I didn’t care for, but besides that it was a peaceful, beautiful place.

Overall, it was a very nice, clean place. Some minor things / recommendations:- The TV remote didn’t work. Batteries they brought out didn’t fix it. I eventually figured out that the Roku remote mostly took care of things. - The bed didn’t have a comforter, and it was a little chilly the first night. They brought one out the next day. - The hot tub would not go above 98 degrees, which is cooler than most people prefer. - The grill was the kind that would be at a state park. Not really a big deal, but the description should state clearly that it is NOT a gas grill.

This was an excellent home and property, and nearby all the attractions. Will be considering this place again. Thank you.

Very easy to find. We used the firepot both days and the hot tub one night. The county road in front had very light traffic each night. Bed was a little soft, but loved the shower. Would stay again if ever back in the area.

We enjoyed ourselves first of all. But the top step has a loose board, the bed was lumpy and hard as a rock and nosey as can be. If you or your partner moves you know it.

The Hideout is in a great location, close to Old Man's Cave, Rock House, Ash Cave, and Grandma Faye's. The large yard and long driveway made it easy to park and back up to the main door. The outdoor firepit is a nice touch, and the indoor gas fireplace adds to the cozy vibe. The living room furniture is comfortable, and the space overall was clean and quiet. However, there were some issues. The hot tub had insufficient water on arrival, but Cindy from management quickly resolved it. The frying pan was warped, and although I bought a new one, I have yet to be reimbursed (I did not expect to be and left it for next guests; but was told I would be). The kitchen is understocked, with only three dinner plates and limited utensils, so you'll need to run the dishwasher between meals. There was black soot on all the walls, possibly from the fireplace or the pan. The broom was taped together, and one bar stool seat was worn/torn. The bed had a large lump in the middle—likely due to an old mattress that needs replacing (I let Cindy know at the same. time as hot tub). We also had trouble with the TV app setup, and the grill area was too dark without working light (the two provided flashlights also had no batteries). The pillows on couch are dirty. No rug inside at door entry after coming in from exterior. Mold forming on bathroom ceiling. Overall, it’s a nice place with great potential but could use some TLC and repairs to justify the price.

The place was clean and the photos accurately reflected the cabin. We had a nice couple days at the Hideout.

Perfect little place for a weekend getaway! Jake, the host, was quick to respond to my questions. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and time spent in front of the fireplace. It’s a short drive to town to enjoy dinner. The large walk in shower with the rain shower head was a nice surprise. The only down side to our stay was the very firm mattress which we were not use to. Other than that, a perfect stay!

Great place… nice outdoor areas!!! Needs a new skillet (eggs) a few more dishes, glasses for milk. Otherwise perfect!!

Property was exactly as described. It was perfect for the two of us and our small pup. It was conveniently located to the trails in Hocking Hills State Park. The hot tub was delightful after a day of hiking. We wish there were drinking glasses, only wine glasses were available. And, maybe update cookware.

The room was clean, the bed was not very comfy. Hot tub was the best part. In the amenities I thought it said there was a bathtub but there was not, that was a little disappointing. Over all it was cozy, quiet and the fireplace was a nice touch as well.

Overall great. Weather was perfect. Close to all the trail heads and easy to get to. Cabin was clean and ready when we got there.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hideout. It’s in a great spot for the local attractions. Was just the right size for my wife and I and our dogs. My only complaint is that the towels and wash cloths were damp and musty. Made us question if they had even been washed. We had to use our beach towels after showers because of this. Other than that it’s a nice place.

Great stay at a nice cabin…conveniently located and priced fair! Worth a booking!
