Tucked away in Yancey County, North Carolina, is the Tiny Gingerbread Home.
Here, although not far from the hustle and bustle of town, you can relax inside, while right outside the sunroom is an Aviary, woods, and farmyard.

You can then take off to see the sights and sounds of Asheville's many beautiful craft shops, fine restaurants, and local breweries, go for a day of hiking in the many famous mountain trails in our area, or, in Winter, go skiing at Wolf Ridge Ski Resort whichis right above us.

We have lived here on Miller Branch Road in Mars Hill, NC for 25 years now. Saleh, who is also an artist, built the tiny home and I had the joy of decorating it. We began renting with VRBO about ten years ago.

The animals that live here are three pigs and three sheep. There's an aviary of pigeons, ducks, chickens and a goose - - right below the Gingerbread 's picture windows. They are adorable to watch and feed.

My husband and I also live on the property in our home.

We are surrounded by woods and there is a large farmyard you can sit in near a babbling
Creek where the sheep will come to visit you.

The tiny home is ideal for single people because of its size, but for couples, the Tiny Gingerbread can be very romantic, though small.

Also, because we have excellent Wi-Fi, working from home online is convenient.

The Tiny Gingerbread is ideal for traveling nurses. We are 28.8 minutes from Mission Hospital in Asheville, 23.3 miles from
Blueridge Hospital in Spruce Pine, and 24 miles from Greenville Hospital in Tennessee.

Our location is unique. We are right below a ski resort. We are seven minutes from the highway and are central to Asheville, Mars Hill, and the quaint town of Burnsville. North Asheville is twenty minutes away, while Mars Hill is ten minutes, and Burnsville is fifteen.

About our road : Miller Branch Rd is a hard-packed gravel - dirt road that's not steep nor curvy. Four wheel drives are not necessary, but the most comfortable cars to drive on the road are cars with medium to high clearance such as SUVs and small trucks. Low clearance cars are highly discouraged. We are just a half mile up from the asphalt road called Fox Creek.

So come and have a stay here, at the Tiny Gingerbread!

This is the most enchanting place we have ever visited. A storybook cottage with the best neighbors an animal-lover could ask for! After our first visit in 2018 we new we needed to return. The homeowners are a delight!

This was our second stay at the Gingerbread Cottage. We love Saleh, Jacki and all the animals! It is so relaxing there that we never want to leave. The cottage is very cute and nicely decorated. We take our own groceries and cook on the grill but also go out for an occasional meal and shopping. This trip we even made s'mores at the fire pit. We are already planning our next visit! Hosts were very good with communication. We needed partial wheelchair accessibility and host were very accommodating. The suite way very clean and well stocked with everything we need for our 5 night stay. Muffins, tea and coffee greeting us in the morning. If you want to experience a little European cottage in the Asheville area, this is your place to stay! Thanks to the hosts for making us feel very welcome and we really enjoyed your property.

From the time we stepped out of the car we knew we had made the right choice of where to stay. Saleh and Jacki both greeted us when we arrived. They gave us a short tour of where we would be staying and the property. Their property is a folk art masterpiece and all of their animals are docile and love attention. This is truly an animal lovers paradise. The owners are there when you need them and are so easy to talk to. We loved being able to pet and feed the sheep from our back porch.

This place is fantastic. The owners are so sweet and everything we needed was there. They have beautiful animals that are friendly. There is a creek running right through the property and the gentle sounds of the water are so relaxing. I loved waking up and having coffee on the porch just watching water and birds. It is a slice of paradise. We will definitely come back.

My stay at gingerbread farm was delightful and comfortable. Definitely a home away from home. Jacki and Saleh are the kindest, most nurturing couple I've ever met. I stayed for much of the month of March at the outbreak of covid19 and they helped me to listen to the facts and keep balanced. I love the animals and feeding them was a joy. I will be back as soon as I can, hopefully this fall. Thank you friends.

Always a pleasure to return to our favorite rental. Jackie and Saleh are becoming an extended part of our family. We absolutely cherish their friendship. We look forward to coming home a few times each year. We can not say enough nice things about their mission, beautiful home they have built, or their kindness. Thank you for always welcoming us back. See you again soon.

My stay was wonderful as usual. I found this property about 5 years ago when I wanted to ski at Wolf mountain. I stay that year can you back the following year with my daughter and now I've come back so many times I've lost count. This place is a of beautiful magical piece of heaven. Sometimes you need it Hilton and sometimes you need the mountains. If you need the mountains This is beyond perfect. Also the landlords or such beautiful souls.

Our second visit here with Jacki and Sal. My son and husband and I LOVE this little spot so much! Jacki and Sal again made us feel so welcomed! Peaceful and quite place with only the creek and noise from the animals!!! Our son was so excited when he found out how we were going again. He loves those animals and Jacki and Sal are so good to all of us by sharing their animals with us too! Our cottage was clean and felt just like coming back to Mama's . Decorated with items throughout that seem to have a story to tell. We were able to leave the old day to day grind and just relax here in this special place. Third visit is going to be in the Spring and we are already looking forward to coming back and staying with our friends Jacki and Sal...Can't wait to see all the beautiful flowers in bloom! If you are looking for a unique experience and love animals, this little cottage will not disappoint you!!! Thank you Jacki and Sal for making our stay so magical again and we will see you in the Spring!!!

We loved staying at the Enchanted Cottage. Jackie and Saleh were the friendliest hosts you could ever meet. They had everything ready and we didn't need a thing. We are animal lovers so we absolutely enjoyed having the pigs, sheep and birds to hang around with. I miss being there. No doubt we will be there again soon.

Jacki is an amazing host and a truly amazing person. The hospitality you can expect to receive from them is nothing short of amazing. Good communication before arrival and during stay. The house is like something out of a fairytale. It's like a perfect little gingerbread house! Very warm and cozy. We visiting during what turned out to be a bitterly cold weekend and it was so nice to walk into a warm cottage every evening after a day/night of hiking and dining and warm up. Special bonus if you are an animal lover like we are because they have all sorts of friendly animals on the property. We fed the sheep and pet the pig everyday before setting off on our adventures. Highly recommended!

Off all the places we visit. We always cherish our return to the farm. Jackie and Saleh treat us like returning family each time. We enjoy our time spent with them and all the animals. Whenever life starts to wear us down, we plan a trip here. It always gets us refocused and gets our energy rebalanced. This place is one of those special allmost magical places , that does mot exist everywhere. I encourage everyone to listen and learn from the creek, the trees, the mountain, the animals, and most importantly this amazing couple. We will return many times, of that i am certain.
