Coalville, Utah
Welcome to the Daydream. Take a step back in time and allow yourself to unwind, recharge and connect to the rhythm of the seasons. Originally constructed in the 70's, this family-owned cabin has been thoughtfully remodeled (2022) to enhance comfort while maintaining the structure's original, rustic charm.
The property is nestled in mature pine and aspen groves, and offers views of the Uinta mountains and the natural lands of Tollgate Canyon. The incredible views are excellent for spotting wildlife, enjoying the sky's vibrant color at sunrise and sunset, and simply taking in the quiet serenity of the surrounding area.
Drawing inspiration from Utah's natural lands, the spaces within the Daydream have been intentionally created to enable connection to the past, appreciation for the environment, and access to the perfect retreat. Fill the cabin with your favorite music by connecting to the Bluetooth Sonos or pick a record from the collection to play on the record player in the loft. Gather around the dining table for a home-cooked meal or over one of the readily available board games with your loved ones. Rest within the quaint and cozy bedrooms. Get productive or creative at the workstation underneath the loft's vaulted ceiling.
The Daydream's location is perfect for the adventurer. It is located off-the-beaten path, accessed by a steep dirt/snow plowed road. Find the ideal balance of solitude and quick access to Kimball Junction, the Wasatch range's renowned ski resorts, and Park City's Main Street for world-class dining, shopping and cultural events.
ALL YEAR LONG REQUIREMENTS OF VEHICLE
The roads up to the cabin are unpaved with various conditions throughout the year. In summer, the roads can be rugged and washboarded. In winter, they are snow packed from plows and may have a fresh layer of snow depending on storm timing. During spring and fall, they can be muddy and rutted out along the way. A 4-wheel drive vehicle with clearance is required, regardless of season.
NOTE: FROM OCTOBER 15th TO MAY 31st, AT LEAST TWO METAL SNOW CHAINS ARE MANDATORY.
If you get stuck on the road accessing the cabin, you will be responsible for recovery costs which can be upwards of $300+. If you are renting a car, SUV, or Truck, please make sure you rent or buy appropriately-sized chains. Consider reaching out to Mark Miller Subaru for all-wheel drive car rentals/chains. We do not refund due to inability to access as a result of weather or vehicle capability, so please plan accordingly.
Stayed on a solo trip. Everything was as expected with a couple of nice extras. Coffee was provided, as were items to cook with. I loved sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds and putting together a puzzle that I found in the upstairs. Would happily stay again!
This cabin is a great place to get away from day to day life. While we were there, we were able to unplug, listen to music, read, play board games, and recharge. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare food, the bathroom is upgraded and modern, the bedrooms are nice, and the main spaces are comfortable and inviting. The balcony offers a beautiful view and birds are always singing. We would highly recommend staying here! We'll definitely be back.
This cabin was perfect, the scenery was beautiful, it was secluded enough to feel private but not so secluded you’re afraid of getting eaten by bears or murdered ;) the cabin was a great mix of rustic with modern updates that make your stay comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen were nice and modern and we found the tools needed to make breakfast each day. It’s only about 25 minutes to shopping and restaurants, and a beautiful drive every time you leave. It rained most of the time we were there, but watching and listening to the storms was awesome. Two notes: 1) if your idea of relaxing is cuddling up and watching a movie, BYOTV - there is wifi capable of streaming, but no devices at the cabin to watch on. 2) we were warned by the host on our second day that there was an influx of bugs right now, and he wasn’t kidding! Large ants consistently infiltrated mainly the bathroom, and a bit in the kitchen area, but it sounds like that’s a seasonal thing and not necessarily normal, so take that with a grain of salt. Apart from the bugs it was clean and well maintained. We’d definitely stay again.
Our stay at this cabin was wonderful. The cabin is beautiful with a mix of old rustic charm with new modern comforts. It has everything we needed for cooking well, relaxing, and having a good time. The surrounding area and views are beautiful. Sitting on the porch sipping coffee and listening to the birds made my day. Highly recommended!
