The Copper Squirrel is a secluded full log cabin on 10 acres.

Beautify restored cabin with modern updates and fully stocked kitchen for dining and cooking. Comfortable bed with great linens and high quality towels. Screened porch is great as you are sharing the summer with the mosquitos and black flies. It is the WI north woods.

The Copper Squirrel is a lovely log cabin in the woods by a beautiful pond in an exquisite setting. The owner, Kerstin, was superb in her communications and her responsiveness, particularly in resolving a double booking issue that was the fault of the booking service and not her. The cabin is lovingly cared for and decorated. There were many amenities including coffee and tea, spices for cooking, many pots and pans for baking, etc, firewood already split to length for a wood stove and an outdoor fire pit. Our favorite place was the screened porch facing the pond. We loved the art work and decor- largely squirrels and collectibles. This would have been an overall 5 for us except we rated the comfort as a 4 for three reasons, which are directly related to our being seniors with some agility issues: the table for two was very high with tall stools that were difficult for us to climb onto, the microwave was on top of a large refrigerator and involved climbing up and down on a step stool (which Kerstin kindly provided for us) with hot food and liquids, and lastly the very comfortable queen bed was tight against a wall on one side and had about a foot of clearance to the wall on its other side, making it very challenging to get in and out of the bed. These likely would not have been an issue if we were a decade younger. It was one of the most peaceful stays during our road trip around the Great Lakes, and clearly she was the most attentive owner of any of our 10 lodgings.

Our standard poodle, Lucy, absolutely loved the property, the pond, the woods, the bed! Everything was immaculate, and all the little things we didn't think of as first time renters, Kristin did! She was awesome! From detailed directions for the wood furnace to the little book light on the side table, to the pile of books. It was all there to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We hope to be back!

We had the BEST time at The Copper Squirrel. The property is so much more beautiful and peaceful than the photos can even capture. Host was helpful and responsive. Our stay felt like a true retreat. We will definitely come back.

Kristin is an amazing host! We are returning guests and loved our stay this time as much as our last time! It’s a cozy cabin with every amenity you could need. We love the location and it’s close to the shops and restaurants we like to visit. We will definitely be returning to this lovely home!

Everything was amazing. The host gave us great travel and food references. The cabin is only a short drive to Bayfield and the ferry to Madeline Island. The cabin was a perfect central location for us to drive to our different hikes in the area we had picked out prematurely. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Cozy and amazing cabin!We absolutely loved staying at this wonderful cabin in the woods! It was very relaxing and exactly where we needed to be. Kristin does a beautiful job decorating and is in tune with having everything that was needed for our stay. She went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our visit! I highly recommend staying here and the location is close to all the areas we like to visit!

Wow..was the first word that came to mind when we walked into this cabin..Rustic with modern updates made it cozy and comfortable..Cleanliness was top notch.A screened back porch looking over a serene back yard with a private pond was amazing and so well thought out..Our host Kristin kept in touch..If I could rate this a 10,I would..Everything was Perfect!! And our dogs agreed.

Perfect little cabin. So easy to kick back and relax and with local attractions being just 15-20 min away the location was perfect. Clean cabin, very responsive and kind host. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to explore the beautiful Bayfield area.

We had a great stay with our dog! It was so nice to be secluded in the woods but yet close to Bayfield. The cabin itself was exactly as described and in the pictures. It has everything you need to be comfortable and we were happily surprised to find little thoughtful things like small lights by the bed if you needed to get up during the night, and a lot of outdoor options to relax and play at the cabin. We loved hearing the bull frogs in the pond and spent a lot of time in the screened in porch. We will definitely try to book this again when we are next in the Bayfield area.

This sweet cabin was exceptional in terms of amenities, quiet, dog friendly, and cleanliness. We did a lot of hiking, returning home to a peaceful place. I was sad to leave!

Very relaxing

We had a fabulous stay at the Copper Squirrel! The owner is fantastic!

This cute little cabin had everything we needed and more! Oven, fridge/freezer, grill for cooking. A little screened in porch to enjoy the outdoors without the bugs along with a fire pit for evening fun and a pond right outside the door that my dogs (especially my lab) loved! The location was great, just 10 miles from Bayfield and 1 mile from the closest Lakeshore view at Little Sand Bay. The host was friendly, attentive and ensured that the property was clean and well stocked for our stay.

Everything was perfect. Weather was amazing. Having our dogs with us made it even more perfect. Truly a place right out of Heaven.
