Dunlap, California
This cottage is located in a little complex with two other vacation rentals. Each unit is individual with a shared game room and outdoor kitchen BBQ area. The property is located close to the highway for easy travel access to King's Canyon & Sequoia National Park. This Unit is the Hollies Cottage and also on the property is the Nook. Great family property with a fenced grassy area with a playhouse and swings for the kids.
near to kings park entrance and quiet neighbour hood under mountain , at the corner nice coffee place and gas station which was useful
Perfect stay for visiting king canyon
Cable was out but was rectified when I contacted the host and she contacted the cable company. Then power went out, but came back up a little while later. I believe it was the whole area, so not the fault of the cottage. I let the host know the coffee maker was broken. I found the cottage quaint and a bit quirky, which I enjoyed but may not be for everyone :)
The house and yard are very cute and the location is great. The layout is interesting (go through one bedroom to get to another) but it’s an old house and was still charming. The house was clean and comfortable. Would be a great place in the warner season where you could really enjoy the outside spaces. That said, it was the poorest stocked house we’ve rented. No washcloths, no hand towels in the bathrooms, no hand soap (just a couple motel style shampoo bottles), no oven mitts to get hot things out of the ovens, fewer dishes than there are number of people the house sleeps, limited toilet paper (we stayed two nights and ran out in one bathroom), etc. the bedrooms rely on space heaters and one blew the breaker, we had a heck of a time finding it to turn back on. And finally, the bushes at the street were really overgrown and coupled with the trash and at the road, it was impossible to see when pulling out onto the busy road. Like REALLY dangerous. I’m still giving it four stars because the negative things are all easy fixes that would make for a five star stay.
Quaint, clean, recently updated, scenic view of mountains. But be prepared for mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers, spiders, and a shortage of kitchen utensils, cookware, tableware, bath linens, paper goods (TP, paper towels), and blankets.
Ideal for a family of 4 traveling with grandparents. Place was old but clean, and beds and furniture comfortable. The children aged 5 and 8 could run around outdoors. Only problem was that there weren’t any paper towels and dish towels. I contacted Cheyenne and we had the items about 40 minutes later. A few items missing in the kitchen that travelers would like - hot mitts and measuring spoons and cups. No dishwasher as listed, but that wasn’t a big deal. We cooked dinner, made coffee, and everything worked well. About 35 miles from the national parks.
Great location, easy access to Kings Canyon. Cute house and grounds!
Very peaceful environment. We loved the porch swing! Easy in and out. Home was comfortable and had all the space we needed.
