Step inside and discover the spacious open-plan living, kitchen and dining area which will immediately impress, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the views (see photos). The fully-equipped kitchen allows the designated chef to get to work preparing and cooking up a delicious meal, while the dining table is the perfect spot to tuck in, gaze at the views and recount past adventures. After a busy day exploring, the living room with comfortable leather seating makes the perfect place to come back and relax with a cup of tea, or catch up with your favourite shows on the wall-mounted Smart TV.

There are 3 modern attractive bedrooms, all with zip & link beds, which provides flexibility to suit different group requirements. The master bedroom can be super king or standard twin, and the two other bedrooms can be king size or compact twin. All bedrooms have new high-quality mattresses, luxury white bed linen and towels.

The beautiful new bathrooms are a very good size; one with basin, WC, heated towel rail and bath with shower unit over the bath, and the second with a substantial shower unit, basin, WC and heated towel rail.

You could enjoy breathtaking views while dining alfresco on warm summer days.

There is a useful utility room with washing machine, separate dryer, and a Belfast sink overlooking Derwentwater.

The lodge boasts ample parking. There are several lovely walks immediately on offer from the door, so don’t forget your hiking boots! Or why not bring your mountain bike with you to see even more of this beautiful area (lockable storage available in shed for pedal bikes but no facilities for charging/storing e-bikes).

Castlerigg Hall campsite is nearby where you can purchase basics such as fresh milk, bread and eggs. Fancy a bite to eat Why not try the cafe at Castlerigg Hall which is open daily from 12-4 for delicious coffee and cakes, and the Heights Hotel Crag Bar 5 minutes down the lane sells vegetarian and vegan-friendly meals every evening from spring-autumn.

Path to walk down into Keswick (about 25 mins); paths to Castlerigg Stone Circle (about 35 minutes), and Walla Crag (about 40 minutes) with spectacular views down to Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite. You may be lucky enough to spot paragliders taking flight!

Our five nights in swallows lodge was the perfect location for a hiking trip in the hills around Keswick , you can walk out of the front door and on to a footpath in more or less any direction, swallows lodge, has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and two good bathrooms, and a lounge/ living room area to put your feet up in, only a bookcase with local interests was missing. From the large window there is a lovely view complimented by rabbits hopping around the garden, for those who can’t get enough of house work, the utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. Keswick is a small town with many pubs and restaurants to eat and drink in, decent cafés are also not in short supply .Booking swallows was uncomplicated, if you have a few days free and would like to meet friends or family, grab your anorak and head for the lakes, I can recommend it.

We had a lovely week staying in Swallows Lodge. The beds and sofas were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. There was plenty of space for five of us, plus a large dog. Having two bathrooms and toilets was useful, and there was a clothes airer as well as an outside washing line. We were extremely lucky with the weather as it was warm and dry for the entire week, so we didn’t need to use the heating. There were plenty of heaters so I imagine it would be warm in colder weather. The views over Derwentwater to the mountains on the far side of the lake are beautiful and can be enjoyed from the living area through the bifold glass doors or from the outside terrace area. It would have been nice to have a couple of more comfortable outdoor chairs. The view comes at the price of a long downhill walk into Keswick and the equivalent uphill on the way back! It is really easy to access the main A66 for car trips further afield and there is a bus stop at the end of the lane (although we didn’t use the bus). The walk over the Castlerigg Stone Circle takes about 30 minutes. We would definitely consider returning to this property in future.

This lodge is set in a quiet but beautiful setting just outside Keswick. It has ample parking and access to a reliable and frequent bus service - so important in the Lakes! The lodge is spacious, with lots of light, fabulous views towards Derwent Water and the Derwent Fells from the living area and outside terrace. The facilities are great with 2 bathrooms serving 3 double bedrooms. The kitchen/dining/living area is very comfortable and an enjoyable living and relaxing space. The WiFi strength was strong and allowed everyone to keep up easily with their other non-holiday lives! I would strongly recommend this holiday lodge.

Swallows Lodge is situated just outside Keswick on an elevated plot with private garden, ample parking and stunning lake views from the lounge and private seating area outside. Bright spotless accommodation suitable for families or groups of friends. Loved the welcome basket with goodies and starter pack for kitchen. All 3 bedrooms can be set up as twin or doubles and the beds were comfortable and supplied with quality bedding. The spacious kitchen/diner is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and instructions for appliances easy to follow. Useful Utility room with sink/laundry facilities and ample hooks provided for coats and rucksacks. The cupboard of board games was a lovely touch and we enjoyed playing Scrabble several nights. The two beautiful bathrooms with showers were spotless. Several paths lead down into Keswick about 15 minutes walk away and Castlerigg Hall has a cafe and well stocked shop and is only 5 minutes walk away. Without doubt, one of the best properties we have ever stayed in - we were blessed with lovely sunshine and spectacular sunsets - so would not hesitate to recommend it and hope to return again soon!

Weeks walking with friends and dogs in lakes. Perfect cottage, amazing views, well equipped and walks on the doorstep. Close enough to walk to Keswick is you don’t mind up hill return. We were blessed with amazing weather but even is weather was bad you would never tire of the amazing views.

This was our first time at Swallows Lodge and absolutely loved it. Plenty of parking next to the property and easy access for unloading the car. Loads of space at the entrance for boots etc and plenty of hooks for coats. There's also a handy utility room with washer and dryer and sink if needed. The whole property was spotless and modern. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of storage space for food and the 2 bathrooms again spotlessly clean. The beds are v comfy and plenty of storage space for clothes. The open plan dining/living area is the best part which overlooks the stunning view of Derwentwater and surrounding hills. There was a small welcome pack and one for our dog which was nice and a cupboard full of games which is a nice touch. I couldn't fault this property at all. The location is perfect, minutes away from Keswick but away from all the hustle and bustle with lovely walks from the doorstep. We also used the cafe just along the road at Castlerigg Hall. This is definitely our favourite Keswick Cottages property yet and look forward to returning next year.

We loved our stay at Swallows Lodge. The view over Derwent Water is breathtaking. The lodge is very well equipped, very warm and cosy with plenty of space. The tumbler drier definitely a bonus! We hope to be back. (Some outdoor furniture would be a great addition).

We would definitely come back to stay here. The lodge has the most amazing view and is conveniently located next to a public footpath. We did a lovely walk to the nearby standing stones from here. The kitchen didn’t have salt, pepper or oil, so next time I will bring my own.

A really well presented lodge moments away from some great walks. We stayed for 4 nights in December and had a lovely time! It is easy enough to get into Keswick and at this time of year secluded enough. It is next to a caravan park so in the summer may be a bit busier! The beds were very comfortable, as was the lounge area. The only things I would like to have been made aware of beforehand were that after about 8am the internet connection (Wi-Fi) is basically non-existent until the late evening, fine if you're out all day but we had trouble downloading walking routes after breakfast for the day, which was a bit frustrating! And that there is a hot water booster that needs to be used unless you are showering/having a bath first thing in the morning! These are only minor issues and we would likely book again in the future.

Wow! The most amazing view and location. Beautiful clean bright and comfortable accommodation. Fantastic walks on the doorstep and activities for all, with an easy drive or walk to Keswick. A picturesque lakeside town with all amenities including a local artisan market. A place to unwind, refresh and explore the Lake District.
