Sunset Overlook - Pet Friendly Family Cabin with Gorgeous Sunset Views

Our dog especially enjoyed the back porch and meeting the sweet little panther neighbor walked. Nice walk with our dog along the road. The cabin was clean and had that wonderful feeling of being on vacation without being near all the people. The kids enjoyed making s’mores at the fire pit. Hubs and I enjoyed using the wood burning fireplace. The location is very central to everything but you’re not “in the middle” of everything and that’s a huge plus. We would absolutely stay at this cabin again or (since we’re moving up there) have our family and friends that will be visiting us stay here.

This was a bare-bones cabin, but definitely needed some updates. We addressed these concerns to the management team: kitchen drawers had no tracks so they fell out each time there were opened, we had no bear proof trash can available, so once our trash was filled we had to keep the full bag in the extra bathroom upstairs (we did not have guests in that portion of the cabin, so it was our only option for the trash bag), the w/d were both in need of maintenance, the HVAC filter was dirty (blew dust and dirt out when we turned on the heater, so we pulled it out to clean) and the outdoor seating by the fire pit was broken/missing. Overall, it worked for the two of us with our pets, but before more guests come to fill the space, we hope they will do a deep maintenance review AND consider a bear proof trash receptacle for outside, since it is not reasonable to have guests in a property that can only have trash picked up when you have filled 2 bags - which is their current policy.

Booking it was easy and the customer service folks were great.The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was great for walking our little dog. Due to the drought, we didn’t use the fire pit but enjoyed the views from the porch. We liked that the porch had a gate so our dog could be outside without wandering off.

The house is very cute and close to Helen! We had some issues with wasps that we found the last night we were there right above the main bed! Once trash was full nowhere to put it as there were no other trash receptacle to put it in! Also coffee pot and no filters. I get you need to bring things it is the little things that make the difference!

Cute little cabin for a weekend getaway. Alot smaller than pictures portray. Advertisement says 1 king bed, there was no king bed, both were queen/full. Air conditioner in upstairs bedroom was extremely loud. Overall, I would book this cabin again. Convenient to the town of Helen.

Close to everything, private,peaceful

This property was well maintained and in perfect location to restaurants and the towns of Helen and Cleveland. It was perfect for our short get-away.

Our stay was amazing!!! My children came from Florida and Nebraska. We stayed for 2 weeks. It was a great location, very peaceful and very clean!!! We will definitely be back to stay again.

It was the first time for my wife staying up in the mountains and she was amazed. We love the Christmas set up and the warm welcome.

Oh this Cabin is so cute. We arrived just before Thanksgiving and they had holiday lights and a tree up. Such a warm welcome!! The house warms up quickly with the central heat and the fireplace is a picture perfect spot to get toasty warm. Took us less than 10 minutes to drive into Helen and enjoy the town and have a delicious meal! The cabin does have squeaky floors as mentioned in other reviews but I found it charming. The sunsets were stunning - excellent view. Quiet spot, can’t wait to go back again.

Our stay was so nice and relaxing. The property manager checked in several times. And went above and beyond making sure we had a pack and play for my grandson. All of us enjoyed coming in after a day of shopping and just sitting on the porch swinging and rocking! Will be recommending this place to anyone who needs a weekend gwtawa!

Could use better mattresses and bedding

Easy access and closeness to Helen. Would be nice to have a keurig there Fall cleaning would be appreciated. A second couch instead of wooden rockers. Quiet and cozy. Nice fire pit.

The floor was dirty, I spilled water, wiped it up with a paper towel and the towel was black. Dusty under the bed, ring in the downstairs toilet, dead bug in the upstairs bed, live bug on kitchen countertop. Furniture in the living room is not conducive for 4 people because the two wooden rockers are not comfortable at all. Couch is slanted forward. With the fees I had to pay it was not worth it!

While traveling to our destination- got a call it would not be available so we were given another site. I shopped the vendor online and asked them to find something that fit our expectations. They did. At least good enough to have an enjoyable time. Property needs maintenance- electrical, plumbing, and aesthetics. But a good time was had by all

The property was in a nice location but could have used some tidying up on the outside. Other than that, the place was cute, comfortable, quiet and convenient. Being dog friendly although pricy, is a big plus. We enjoyed our stay. The fees were high for a two-night stay. I assume if more nights were booked the fee distribution would have gotten more palatable?

Reviewer Comments: Cabin is in a nice quiet area, very pretty walk up and down the road, used the road for some cross country hill training with our middle schooler too. Cabin is very nice and very very clean! Beds were comfy, plenty of room for our family of 4. We had a great time, the location is convenient. 10 minutes to Helen, 45-1 hour from other places like Atlanta, Blue Ridge, Dahlonega, Ellijay. We would definitely stay again. Loved the screened porch for morning coffee/breakfast and used it every night. It rained every evening of our trip but we could still be outside while the kids were sleeping upstairs and we loved that!Very minor complaints, trash can step piece was broken, no cookie sheet in the kitchen or big bowl for mixing things (except a cute popcorn bowl) and the screened porch is not completely screened. The bottom half is actually open so we still had some bugs in there at night. As I said, very minor.

A very easy place to stay. Quite setting. Easy access to Helen and other sites in the area. I highly recommend you stay and visit all that this area offers.
