Stayed Jun 16, 2024The reviews were correct about the top bunk, my 12yr old hit his head a couple of times ☺️ the futons need new cushions because they were hard but my hubby said it’s better than the bed because that was too hard for him to sleep on. We ran out of toilet tissue because there was 5 of us for 5 days we were there. The drive way is the only thing that no one put in their review…it’s steep! We had to curb the wheels just in case our heavy van brake handle gave way. BUT other than that… ? it’s a lovely place to stay!!! The neighborhood is quiet but that’s also cause of the noise ordinance the city has enforced. House is Close to all the activities, shops and food areas. We enjoyed kayaking, hiking trails, fishing (even tho we didn’t catch any and the fish was literally jumping in front of us staying neener neener) the slide park was fun, the locals said the zoo only had local animals like a raccoon or squirrels so we didn’t go. The observatory is only open once or twice a year so that wasn’t Thing to do. This was our first time in Big Bear Lake so we didn’t know the city starts shutting down at 6pm. Lots of homes are vacation rentals and/or for sale. This rental is a good spot to stay.

Stayed Feb 22, 2024We stayed here for 2 nights to go skiing. The house was located close to Big Bear Mountain so there was easy access. Upstairs was clean. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials. The living room furniture was extremely uncomfortable to relax on and could use new cushions. Downstairs there was plenty of extra pillows and blankets in the bedrooms, although we had to search for and put on our own pillow cases in one room. No bath/shower soap was provided in the bathrooms so be sure to bring your own. The bunkbed is positioned so only a small child can access the top bunk without hitting their head. The heat worked great and was warm at night. Overall, the bedrooms seemed clean except our son found a woman's bra when getting into the double bed. A bonus is the yard which was great for sledding.

Stayed Dec 31, 2023Property manager caught in a lie. Instructions clearly say if the home is cleaned early, early check in would be available. We arrived early, inquired about an early check in as we were sitting outside the home (wanted to see how far from the slopes the home was). Property manager said the cleaning crew was still working on the home. I kindly let him know that we were a the property and would just wait there for whenever it was done (obviously there was no one there cleaning at this point). He asked that we not wait there and suggested that we go into town to wait. I waited there anyway as it was an hour before check in and I had just spent 4 hours driving. The house had been ready and available early but he didn’t want to allow for an early check in. No soap, very very tiny tube of shampoo and conditioner (def not enough for 5 people), 1 1/2 rolls of toilet paper. Expensive cleaning fee for having to take our own trash to the dump and then 10am check out seems a bit early. What’s up with these vacation homes having such a late check in and then an early required check out.
