Yellowstone Cabin is located on a secluded lane on the banks of the spectacular Gallatin River, where A River Runs Through It was filmed, just 40 minutes from Yellowstone National Park.
Walk out the front door and fish one of the premiere trout streams in the country, relax with a book on the front decks overlooking the river, or hike out the back door in the Gallatin National Forest. Our property is your peaceful private estate in the wilderness.
Cabin is appointed with vintage works of art, hand hooked and oriental rugs, Ralph Lauren fabrics, highest quality wood frame windows and French doors. The center piece of the great room is a spectacular native Montana stone fireplace.

Just out the back door is the Gallatin National Forest, a pristine nature preserve for hiking in summer or winter. The property is adjacent to the Gallatin National Forest and is eco-friendly, home to native grasses, plants and trees, rather than a traditional lawn that would require pesticides and herbicides that would drain into the river.

We came to BIg Sky for the “Wildlands Music Festival “ but the icing on the cake was this cabin. It was located on the Gallatin River.Everyday we sat by the river and just took in the beauty and peace. Our adult children met up with us.Four of us.The space was perfect. Two in the downstairs king size bed and two of us in the upstairs king size bed.We would leave the balcony door open(weather permitting) so we could hear the river. The art work in this cabin is absolutely stunning. The appliances are all new and high end.The lights can be changed as the day gets darker and is definitely mood enhancing. We sure played with them. The deep bathtub is great for soaking. One night we cooked steaks out on the grill ,which is new as we wanted to just soak up the beauty of the cabin.Jane is very quick to respond and gave us wonderful tips for the area.If there was more than ten stars I would definitely give the highest rating I could.Terri Piel

What an extra special place to unwind from this crazy world! So secluded, yet only a 3 minute walk to the five star restaurant in the Rainbow Ranch Lodge and fantastic local beer and burger joint right across the street , the Corral! Every day we were there, the Riverhouse BBQ restaurant, a mile or two down the road, had live entertainment beginning at 5:00 pm! Fun happy hour in the mountains! This cabin offers everything you would ever want! 45 minutes away from West Yellowstone entrance and 10 minutes away from the ski slopes! We had a wonderful crackling fire every night and fished for trout right outside of the cabin! Jane, the host and local property manager Katie were so very pleasant, kind, informative and helpful! We most definitely will be returning! Thank you Jane for sharing this little bit of Heaven with us!!

Great location on the river. My kids ages 5 7 and 9 loved playing around the property and river. Hikes were right outside the house were amazing. House was cozy and had all we needed with comfy beds. Easy access to big sky and everything around the area. Short drive to lots of options.

We had a wonderful stay at this delightful home on the Gallatin River. The location couldn't be better - just steps from the water with easy river access and beautiful views. The house itself has tremendous charm and character that made our Montana getaway feel truly special.Everything was thoughtfully appointed for a comfortable stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable after long days exploring, and we were pleasantly surprised by the well-equipped kitchen featuring quality essentials like properly sharp knives - a detail many vacation rentals overlook but that made meal preparation a pleasure. The combination of prime riverside location, authentic Montana character, and attention to comfort details made this a memorable stay. We'd definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine river house experience in this beautiful part of Montana.Highly recommended for couples, families, or anyone wanting to unwind by the Gallatin River!

We stayed only 3 nights at this lovely home and felt that it was not enough. It was so nice to have the river so close by. You can hear the river from the home. It made for such a peaceful and relaxing experience. The home itself had all the amenities that one would need. They even provided bear spray for the walks which was so appreciated. There was also some personal artwork in the bathroom that I found very charming. There was also access to YouTube which was a huge plus. This place just felt like home to us and we loved the warmth of the place and the location. The temperatures were perfect, mostly in the 60s and 70s. At night, it got close to 35 degrees. But it was all so comfortable and the beds provided us with a great night sleep each night. We visited Big Sky and checked out the local eateries. We also enjoyed ice cream at Scoops. We did a few outdoor activities. We visited Ousel Falls Trail and did Lemondrop Mountain. It was so much fun to get to see the beautiful mountains and the waterfalls. We had a wonderful dinner in Gallatin at the Riverhouse near where the home was. They served a huge sampling of BBQ (fried chicken, brisket, sausage, pulled pork and ribs) along with cole slaw, beans, corn and cornbread. It was all so delicious. We would definitely stay at this house again as the location was perfect with nature all around and towns close by if that is important to you. Don't hesitate to book this home. It's a perfect choice.

Wow…. What an amazing place to visit! This Florida crew got their winter wonderland along with the privilege of staying the most cozy delightful cabin that met our needs wonderfully! Our host, Jane, was by far, the best host I have ever dealt with. She was beyond informative of the cabin and exactly what we needed to know and responded so quickly! The cabin was very clean and the beds were amazing! The fireplace was our favorite. We can’t wait to come back in the summer to see a whole different kind of beautiful! Thank you, Jane!

We had a wonderful stay at this property! It offered the perfect balance of seclusion while still being conveniently close to town. The home had a warm, inviting feel, more like staying at a friend’s house than a typical rental property. We also felt very safe throughout our stay. The house was well-maintained with great attention to detail, making it easy to settle in. Getting in and out was a breeze, and the host was incredibly responsive and helpful.A couple of things to note: Parking was a bit tricky in the slick snow, so be prepared for that if visiting in the winter. Also, the stairs right off the main living area made us a little nervous with our running toddler.Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would absolutely recommend this property to anyone! It was truly a magical winter wonderland in February and was the perfect place to get away, relax, and enjoy the beauty of nature!

My wife and I spent 10 days over Thanksgiving at this perfect cabin in the woods with our adult children joining us on the tail end. The setting is spectacular - right on the Gallatin River - very private, but minutes from hiking, groceries, restaurants and all that Big Sky has to offer. The cabin itself is incredibly charming with the convenience and comfort of modern amenities and construction, but the look and feel of an old log cabin. Beds, furnishing, artwork, fireplace, vibe - all of it was perfect.

My family of four had a great time at the Cabin. There are a couple of trail heads with stunning hikes at walking distance, and a gorgeous river across the gravel road. The setting could not be any better. Unexpectedly, there was a basket of goodies- including good coffee waiting for us, and the fire place was all set just to be lit. Everything was just as described and communication was great. The furnishings made you feel right at home- unlike many VRBO's that feel mass produced. With all the fees we spent more that we normally do per night, but for us, it was totally worth it. We made use of the washer/dryer (detergent available), bear spray for the hikes, plush towels, plenty of cooking supplies and outdoor grill.... They have thought of everything to make sure time there feels like a vacation. As an FYI, the third bedroom is very small (fine for my teenage son).

Lovely retreat by the river just outside Big Sky. Beautiful cabin with excellent beds and mountain cabin feel. The chairs by the river were perfect for a glass of wine and a good book. My husband walked from the cabin to the Gallatin and caught fish several days. Hiking in the mountains, exploring Big Sky and Yellowstone were highlights of our superb Montana vacation!

The view is amazing, looking (and listening) to the river. Location was perfect. Loved all the vintage artwork and southwestern pottery. The rustic furniture and cabinetry made you feel like you were in the ol’ Wild West. It was the perfect place to unwind after our busy days traveling to the National parks and seeing the beautiful hills and mountains on an incredible trail ride.
