How about a cabin where the setting IS the vacation Who needs a water park when the grandkids want to stay around and play all day in the creek Or a massive 2 acres of gently sloping front yard, where the whole family can enjoy touch football, volleyball, horseshoes, or tossing the frisbee A place where everyone can gather on the huge back deck for coffee each morning, enjoying the rushing waters of Cosby Creek A place where family can gather in the basement game room at night and onrainy days to enjoy playing pool, ping pong, air hockey, or working a puzzle How about a marshmallow roast over the firepit

Cabin On River's Edge is an amazing Smokies retreat in Cosby, Tennessee, that families have been enjoying year after year. This large log cabin sits directly on the banks of Cosby Creek, one of the Blue Ribbon trout streams of the Great Smoky Mountains. Children can wade, fish, swim, and float up and down this stream, ranging in depth from 1 to 3 feet in most places.

Families will enjoy the very spacious and private grounds - the property sits on 3 acres of gently-sloping hills. View the meadows and mountains from the front porch, and the ever-rushing waters of Cosby Creek from the back porches.

Kids and grown-ups love the huge basement game room with QUALITY game tables, complete with ping pong, pool table, air hockey, and a 65 inch HDTV! River's Edge also has a nice-sized utility room complete with washer & dryer.

Cabin On River's Edge is comfortably appointed with fine furnishings and antiques, including antique Persian rugs and a lot of other cool and historic decor! The Cabin also has a complete kitchen and large dining area for great family meals together. There is a coffee bar in the kitchen complete with a coffee maker, grinder, Keurig, and plenty of pods with a variety of flavors.

Cabin On River's Edge is only 7 minutes from the Cosby Entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and is less than a mile from the famous Carver's Apple House & Restaurant! Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are each a 25 minute drive.

This was absolutely breathtaking. Hated to leave. While we were there the creek got up but just listening to it was so relaxing. There was nothing about this place that was short of relaxing and peaceful. Hope to visit again.

When we arrived, the manager was fixing the dishwasher and the gas system on the first floor, which was very cold. He told me they had to order a part. I told him I needed to speak with the manager, and he said he was the manager. I told him I wanted to speak with someone above him, and he said he would pass on the message. No one called me to ask about the cold or the situation with the repairs. The laundry room is in bad condition, and I have pictures of everything. They never called me back. The cleaning is very poor; the floor is incredibly dirty!

The host was very welcoming, was able to get into the cabin a little earlier. The cabin is beautiful however, it was in need of some TLC, the heater in the basement reck room was not working and not easy to repair based on what the host said when he came to see it and also the sliding glass door had a sign that said not to open but it was a beautiful view of the stream so it would have been nice to be able to open that door. Unfortunately due to how cold it was in the reck room none of us were able to enjoy it. Thr dishwasher was leaking a ton of water to the point of not being able to use it. We had to hand wash everything although it was instructed in the host book to make sure to place all the dishes in the dishwasher. I did inform the host so he was aware but it was on our last night. Again the cabin is really cute but it really does need some maintenence.

The cabin was wonderful! It had all the amenities we needed and then some! Each member of my family had a space they could enjoy. My mother loved the ambiance of the back porch while listening to the creek. My brother enjoyed the game room with its pool table. My wife and I were especially greatful for the hot tub after strenous hikes in the Smokies. The cabin had the perfect location too. Close enough to all the major attractions in the area, but far away enough from all the hustle and bustle. It made the trip feel extra peaceful!

Neighboring houses were visible but a nice distance away. Hot tub was on the smaller side but clean and easy to use. Wish the creek was a little shallower for the kids and the drop off not so steep but nothing you can do about mother nature. Over all a nice quiet stay and the kiddos loved the game room.

Let me start by saying the place does need some minor TLC; however, everything else was exceptional. The fact that the stream was right outside the lower slide door and you could leave the door open and hear it from the living room, was amazing. The pool table, table tennis, and air hockey were great fun when the weather wasn't agreeable to be out in. We would definitely love to visit again.

It is an amazing place to stay if you love nature. The view is beautiful all around, and the house was everything we needed for our family. There was plenty to do for everyone, no matter what kind of activity you wanted to do. Our only problem was, it was already booked after us so we couldn't extend our stay! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful area. Cabin is nice but is in need of repairs to sustain current per stay. Games are old an unusable. Hot tub works but the jets on high are comparable to working hot tub on low. Missing down spouts causing the facia to rott/ standing water around the perimeter of the house an garage.

We had a Wonderful time staying at this location, we really enjoyed the water and covered porches! We were a little disappointed to see a cabin directly behind ours. Wish there were TV's in the bedrooms and Master bed could be a bit more comfortable. Overall really enjoyed everything this place had to offer.

Overall trip was great! We didn’t like how big the drop off was to the creek but it still wasn’t terrible walking across.. we found some cool little creatures too!My one major complaint was We did have to wash the dishes because there was hair and fingerprints on some and there was some trash and socks under the bathroom sink in the master bath from previous guests.

We were all very impressed in the second that we pulled onto the road. The check-in process was easy. All the instructions were given clearly. The home was immaculate and had everything you needed for a good relaxing stay. Our teens and other family members enjoy the game room. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch, swings and listening to the river both day and night. No traffic no loud noises. It was wonderful.

We loved the cabin and the surroundings. We spent time on the decks, fishing, in the hot tub, relaxing and could even be outside when it was raining. The location is perfect, close enough to area attractions but far enough away to enjoy nature. We caught 1 trout in the creek. Enjoyed a day on Douglas lake, rafting, and the national park. The view of the mountains from just up the road is great to see the sunsets. Lots of space for the whole family to enjoy. We ate at Janices diner and the apple place and the dollar general had everything we needed. I would recommend this cabin for an enjoyable stay vlose to all the attractions you want.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very well stocked and clean. My kids had a blast playing in the river and it’s only about 30 minutes to the Gatlinburg entrance to Great Smokies, so we did a few small hikes too. (Note the Cosby entrance to the park is currently closed). We would definitely stay again.

Staying at the Cabin on the River in Cosby, TN was a great experience for our family. We really enjoyed coffee on the porch listening to the creek in the mornings. The cabin was clean and cozy. Also, there was plenty of natural beauty a short drive away, and the cabin is conveniently located to Gatlinburg. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

It was everything that was advertised. The huge porches, wide open front yard and creek just steps from the back porch really make this place. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was that downtown Gatlinburg is about a 40 minute drive away and the Cosby entrance for the park was closed for repairs but still worth the stay!

I liked this cabin for its vintage and antique decor. We couldn't bathe in the jacuzzi for fear of a bear coming. My recommendation is that they should put it on the second floor since it's too close to the river and is open to the elements, with no outside boundaries. Another thing we didn't like is that the house didn't have coffee, oil, or seasonings. All the other cabins I've visited had them. You have to bring everything because there was only salt. The games are very good, and the house is spacious. But one of the rooms has no privacy; it's open, with no doors or anything. The place is nice and close to tourist attractions. Very cozy. They just need to improve a few details..

We stayed here after Christmas until New Years Day. We went with my parents and in-laws and we had a blast. I suggest bringing your own board games because they had a few but not many. The gameroom was fun! It was a 45 minute drive into Pigeon Forge, and we went nearly every day. We all had a good time there and it was nice.

This cabin was amazing! Everything looks exactly as pictured. However the listing says “secluded” . It’s not secluded. There’s about 4 cabins or homes behind and one next door. But I must say I did NOT see any of the neighbors. The creek is so loud, But I loved it! Put me right to sleep! The sounds were so soothing! I would definitely rent this cabin again!

The cabin is in a quiet location with sounds of the mountain creek flowing behind it. Perfectly peaceful! However,we had 8 guests in our party for a 3 night stay and there was only 1 roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and no soap to shower with. We had to make a dollar general run just for basics that are generally provided. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
