Great location, beautiful views, and clean, cozy cabin.

The setting and the log cabin were beautiful. Everything was perfect!

Very welcoming. The cabin is true to it's origins while also having amneities that were way beyond our expectations. The appliances and fixtures while modern, perfectly blended in with the cabin's aesthetics.

The experience was perfect. The kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The fireplace stones lived up to its name, Painted Rock. Proximity to the sights and sounds of Lake Superior was just outside the door.

Loved this cozy cottage on the North Shore. Feel asleep each night listening to the waves. Great place to decompress, read, play games, hike. This rental retains its historical charm with modern upgrades. Everything is in great condition, well equipped and so comfortable. Lucky to be able to stay here! Thanks!

The cabin is situated right on the lake and so well appointed and comfortable! The place was spotless. We will definitely come back.

This rustic log cabin is exactly how they show it in the photos. Its everything we were looking for. If your looking for cozy fires in a wood fireplace or a campfire on the rocks by the lake, or simply just want to listen to the waves, this is tge place to beis the place to be

We chose Painted Rock because we love rustic lake cabins and it did not disappoint. It has an old cabin look, but had all the updates and amenities to make it very comfortable and functional. The setting right on the Lake Superior shoreline was spectacular! We loved just sitting on the deck in the comfortable Adirondack chairs and just taking in the view!

Loved the stay. Great location close to bike trails and lakes for canoeing. Highly recommended! Cabin is outstanding.

This was our second stay at Painted Rock and as before, it was wonderful. We were much more successful catching fish last time though!! This property and the owner are top notch and I highly recommend staying.

Spent 5 days here enjoying the big pond and the ambiance of the North Shore. Kudos to the owners/ home designer who updated this historic lake cabin (circa 1935) to with beautiful, modern appointments. First rate.

Clean/well organized and appointed. Very relaxing stay. Close to Grand Marais and some great hiking trails.

Painted Rock was delightful. I loved the simplicity of the decor, and the thoughtfulness that went into each amenity. There were so many details that kept adding to the stay: wool blankets, fireplace, the kitchen appliances (super fun!), the tea, the VIEWS of the water, the privacy of the location (neighbors are nearby but not visible), the kitchen well-supplied (but simply) with tools, sharp knives to work with!, beautiful and functional tub/shower (great water pressure!), and the hummingbird feeder. The property is well cared for and maintained. We really enjoyed our stay - would definitely choose Painted Rock again for an anniversary getaway!

We had a wonderful weekend at Painted Rock! It was the perfect location for us! It had everything we needed and was super cozy with the fireplace, despite the gale force winds on the lake!! We would definitely stay again!
