Carp Lake, Michigan
We would like to assure you that every precaution has been taken and the housekeeping staff follows the CDC guidelines for cleanliness.
This gem of a cabin was just constructed in 2017. It is privately owned and sits on 13 beautiful acres in Wilderness State Park near Mackinaw City and is directly across the road from Lake Michigan. It sits on a hill and has wonderful views of the Big Stone Bay. There is a large deck overlooking the Bay and offers ample opportunity to view the variety of wildlife here. Watch the eagles, osprey, loons, deer, fox, coyote, bobcat and maybe you'll be lucky enough to spot a bear. The park offers miles of hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross country ski trails. The bay is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, sailing, fishing or just enjoying a leisurely swim. Wilderness is just completing a "day park" a short distance away that has a wonderful sandy beach, bathroom facilities and lots of sunshine! The water is crystal clear and the Lake has a nice, sandy bottom that is shallow for quite a distance. It makes for great beach time with the kids.
The cabin comes complete with dishes, pots and pans, silverware and cooking utensils. There is a toaster, coffee pot, electric oven/stove, griddle, microwave and full size refrigerator. There are 2 large ceiling fans for warm days but there is generally a nice breeze. There is also a gas grill/propane provided for you use as well as a picnic table for outdoor dining.
The cabin has 1 bedroom with twin beds, a queen size sleeper sofa in the living area and lots of windows to let in the light. The cabin is bright and cheery with views of the surrounding area from every room.
We encourage you to bring your boat, kayaks, canoes, bikes or other outdoor "toys" for your pleasure. The Wilderness Park boat launch is across the road for putting in and plenty of parking on the property for your boat/trailer. If you will be using the boat launch, or using any Wilderness Park facilities, you will need to purchase a park pass at the Rangers Station which will give you access to the park and it's services.
There is a great general store (Cecil Bay Trading Post) a few miles away and the closest Grocery Store, gas station, and shopping is in Mackinaw City, about 20 minutes away.
If you are interested in visiting some of the local areas, the cabin is a short drive (within 30 minutes) to Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Carp Lake, Alanson, Petoskey, Good Hart, Cross Village, Harbor Springs and Indian River. Everything from fine dining to roadside cafe's, lots of antiquing, breweries, wineries, golf, sailing - the list goes on and on! Once you visit, you'll be hooked. This is a place you'll want to come back to year after year. We look forward to hosting you!
Beautiful views, beautiful build everything is amazing!
We had a beautiful long weekend. We watched the super moon rise above Cecil Bay and the Mackinaw Bridge while hearing the water lap the shore . So quiet. Very relaxing.
My wife and I spent our anniversary week in this cabin. We hated to leave. Everything was there that we needed. Great location and very cozy. Would highly recommend…
Overall a very pleasant stay. The location of the cabin and view of the Lake are great. The interior of the cabin was very clean, however the windows and outside of the cabin need a deep cleaning. Reading lamps in the bedroom would be very much appreciated and a stepping stool, for folks under 6 feet, to reach the dishes above the stove.
My wife and I had a great stay. You can’t beat the location and the view. It wasn’t the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed (the floors were pretty dirty when we arrived), but I figured that’s still a lot better than the rustic cabins in the area. The shower and kitchen were spotless, which is a major plus. This is a very self-serve property. We never heard from the host other than the automated check in email, which consisted of the passcode for the lockbox and a reminder to take out the trash when you leave. Honestly, that was all the info we needed, so it wasn’t necessarily a negative. It was just odd to never hear from the host. The sleeping situation isn’t the best as you have to choose between two twin beds or a pull-out couch where you feel every bar. But in the positive side, if you use the pull-out couch you go to bed with a view of the Mackinaw Bridge lit up and wake up to the bridge backlit with sunrise colors. It was beautiful. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you’re looking for a simple, private cabin close to the UP and Mackinaw Island. The views are incredible. I know parts of this review sound a little harsh, but we genuinely enjoyed our stay. We simply wanted to give extra feedback. A slightly lower price per night would lower the expectations of the property.
This was our second time staying here and we love it. The view is the best from this charming cabin.
This sweet lil cabin has everything you need to unwind; it’s situated on a quiet field within walking distance to the shore. My partner and I watched the butterflies in the field and walked along the beach during the day, and stargazed at night. We can’t wait to come back next year!
Sparking view of the Mackinaw Bridge at night while sitting on the deck is spectacular.
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. It was the perfect spot for 2 people. We loved the view in the morning, and the clear dark sky at night. We saw some of the best sunsets over Sturgeon Bay, about 15 minutes west through Wilderness State Park. Overall a great experience!
Overall, very nice cabin. Great location. Only thing was the sofa bed was not comfortable at all. Other sleeping options were 2 twin beds. Cabin was clean and had all supplies we needed.
Beautiful location and very cozy cabin.
If it had nothing else, the sleep the cabin afforded was worth every penny. Such a comfortable stay and so quiet! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The park was beautiful, can’t wait to come back for another visit!
Beautiful cabin with a stunning view looking out onto the bay. The view of bridge at night is breathtaking. The cabin is very clean and the decor fits the area. Are only complaint was the trees/bushes need cut back on driveway. We brought in a big truck and trailer and it scrapped on paint job. An easy fix. We will be back!
The cabin was as advertised (very clean and well-stocked). Booking and check-in were both very easy. The cabin is located about half way between the eastern and western ends of the park, which is perfect, in my opinion. Just a short drive or bike to either end! The dark skies from the property are amazing, and there are many beach options close by within the park if you are looking for northern lights. Mackinaw City is just a short drive away, but there is so much to see and do within the park and the cabin is so nice, why would you leave :-)?
My wife and rented this little cabin for a late anniversary trip and it was perfect for the 2 of us. The privacy and view is unbeatable. Just a 20 min drive to Mackinaw City and the Bridge. Several beautiful beaches nearby that are not overcrowded. The cabin was very clean and well stocked. We would definitely recommend!
The view is amazing. It's a comfy little cabin perfect for a little getaway. Just remember to bring bugspray and to visit the beach just 2ish minutes down the road!
I cannot believe how beautiful this view was. I took my three kids, including a toddler and infant, and everyone had a great time. We drove back and forth from the beach just because of the heat and baby and there was plenty of parking and not a busy beach which I loved. The cabin was so well stocked of anything you may need. We decided pretty instantly that this is a regular place we want to return to. It’s a quicker drive to Mackinaw than I realized and such a neat location. The property manager or owner (I’m not sure which) was extremely helpful anytime I needed help. My only advice is to follow the directions in the listing rather than using gps, gps takes you much further down the road than needed but the directions written here are perfect. Can’t wait to go back!
We have stayed before . This was no less. It is a simple cabin that suits our needs. Open the windows the lake breeze is fantastic. Simply bright, open floor and clean. Can't wait to return!
The cabin was spotlessly clean. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen. And of course, the view of the lake and Mackinac Bridge is spectacular. Access to the State Park trails which we hiked was great. We appreciated immediate contact with the host for the smallest of problems. We hope to stay again, perhaps in the early fall. We will bring a small step stool. I am 5'2 and could not reach the china in the cabinet above the stove. Also, we will bring a few wire clothes hangers. We enjoyed beautiful weather but did have one rainy day. We walked the park trails anyway but had difficulty finding a place to hang our wet rain gear in the bathroom with no hangers that we could find. And my final comment is that while the couch is comfortable for 3 persons, it does leave the fourth to sit on a straight back chair. We thought about bringing in the Adirondack chair but didn't. Some photos show a recliner on the porch but we didn't find it. Perhaps we just didn't look hard enough. These are minor inconveniences. Our rating of Pintals Cabin is A+
We loved our stay. The view and proximity to the lake could not be better. The cabin was super clean. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend to others.
Great experience
