A unique getaway awaits on this private 40-acre treehouse retreat on Lake Catherine, with over 2,000 feet of shoreline, wooded trails, creeks, and plenty of space to explore. Whether you’re looking for adventure or just a quiet place to relax, this property offers both.

Spend your days kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, swimming, or simply enjoying the outdoors. Lake toys are provided March through November. Around the property you’ll find picnic areas, fire pits, hammocks, and quiet spots to sit and take it all in. Wildlife is part of the experience—deer, birds, and even bald eagles are regularly seen.

The treehouse is designed to feel comfortable and relaxing. It includes a king bedroom, plus a loft with a queen bed and two twins. The full bathroom is stocked with towels, soap, and shampoo. The kitchen has everything you need, including a refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, drip coffee maker, griddle, convection toaster oven with air fryer, and hot plates.

Inside, the vaulted ceilings and shiplap walls give the space a light, open feel. The home is fully heated and air-conditioned and includes an all-season fireplace.

Outside, the wraparound deck offers plenty of seating along with a porch swing—perfect for morning coffee or just enjoying the wooded views. A charcoal grill and picnic area are just steps away.

The property itself is full of things to explore, from trails and shoreline to “Big Pine Point,” home to one of the largest pine trees in the state. In season, you can also enjoy wild blackberries, blueberries, and muscadines.

Additional amenities include a boat dock (feel free to bring your boat), life jackets, beach towels, indoor and outdoor games, books, movies, WiFi and TVs in both the living area and bedroom. Firewood is also provided.

Please note:

Children must be 5 years or older due to the open loft and elevated deck
Roads and driveways were updated in November 2025 and are now easier to navigate
Lake levels are lowered each year from November through March 15 due to winter drawdown

PROS: This property was so unique. The back patio over the trees was so peaceful and pretty to sit on every morning with coffee. So many little perks were provided like smores and beach towels. It’s close proximity to town and the lake toys were fun! CONS:The loft definitely needs some sort of gate to close when the kids sleep. It sleeps 4 kids and with that many kids in a small space and such a drastic drop, somebody will end up getting hurt. My kids ranged in age from 13-6 and it made me nervous the entire time. The pictures seemed a little misleading about the location of the lake. It is close by but it’s not at the house like I thought. It’s a super steep gravel walk down and back. So steep that my car could not drive it. All of my kids slid at some point walking down or up and had bloody legs. If you have issues with walking or are older, getting to the lake will be an issue. The AC unit is not big enough to cool the entire house. The loft was too hot for several of my kids to stay in and they ended up on the downstairs couch every night. The bedroom also sleeps really hot. We had the AC cranked as low as it would go and kept the doors shut and there just needs to be an extra unit added to keep up with the outside heat.

Stopped for two nights on a long road trip with 4 adults. This was the perfect quiet spot to relax away from the highway. Everything was clean, plenty of good seating and sleeping options for all of us, great AC and fans, a lovely deck to sit on and enjoy being remote, and everything we needed was provided as advertised. Mark & Lori were very responsive to my questions, and provided excellent directions and instructions. The bonus perk was getting to take a peddle boat and kayaks out onto the lake! Very relaxing and fun experience. And it’s an easy drive to the main strip of Hot Springs, which is worth a visit.Definitely recommend stopping here to unplug if you’re in the area.

The cabin itself is, of course, lovely, as you can tell from the pictures. The additional draw for this rental is the onsite amenities. Down the hill from the cabin is the lake and a trail system that winds through the property. We found this trail system perfect for our morning runs. As a couple of avid runners who go to Hot Springs a couple of times a year, it is hard to find rentals with good nearby running. This trail system allowed us to enjoy being out in nature for our run on relatively flat terrain without fearing for attack dogs (pretty ubiquitous in Hot Springs in our experience) or unaware drivers. Additionally, along the trail there are a number of further amenities including a boat launch with kayaks, paddle boards, and a pedal boat; a swimming dock (on which we did morning yoga one day); numerous places to sit and relax including a hammock in a shady area; and a badminton/volleyball court with equipment. We availed ourselves of all of these amenities and felt it was a huge value-added element to this rental. Also, I assume because of the owners' ample surrounding land, this place was quite quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed listening to just birds and not speed boats out on the deck each morning and evening. All in all, it was kind of like being at a very laid-back, unassuming, welcoming, private resort. If any of that sounds like your thing, definitely give this place a try.

The cabin was beautiful, cozy, and thoughtfully designed to make you feel right at home. While the location was close to Hot Springs, it truly felt peacefully remote and removed from the world in the best way. Every detail—the spring water, coffee, games, lake toys and life jackets—made it clear that the hosts truly care about their guests’ experience. It struck the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort. While it wasn’t a major issue for our stay, if there was one downside it would be the lack of ability to do laundry. Overall great place to stay!

The place is so peaceful! A chance to connect with nature, and yet not far from site seeing adventures. Trails, boats, games and the quiet part of the lake was great. Even enjoyed getting a good leg workout on the huge hill to get to the water, although you could also drive if you wanted. The other cabin on the property is nearby and shares access to kayaks, paddle boat and boards but there were so many options it wasn't a concern.Mark and Lisa always replied promptly and are so kind! Loved the treat and water!

Very clean property, great for relaxing, water toys were fantastic! My only suggestion would be to revise the description to make sure it is well known there is only a kitchenette without a full size stove so renters are prepared. We didn’t plan to go into town at all during our stay and the food we brought to prepare presented a challenge and took a lot more time and effort to cook.

The house was immaculate. The Hot Springs water in the fridge was an awesome touch. The heat in the bathroom was so nice on the cold mornings. We loved listening to all the sounds of nature in the morning and at night. Enjoyed the trails, paddleboards and kayaks. It was so great to have that access! The mattresses were comfortable. We had a fantastic getaway at the Treehouse Cabin in Hot Springs. The cabin was immaculately clean and well stocked for our arrival. The host left several surprise goodies for us to enjoy. Located on the edge of a hill the back porch puts you at treetop level and provides an oasis of quiet while you sip your morning coffee and listen to the call of the birds bringing in the new day. The beautiful large property provides it's own small nature park which you can stroll along the waters edge and through the timbers to visit nearby farm animals. We loved the long gravel (somewhat steeply sloped) driveway which made you feel like you were far away from city life. The cabin is efficiently designed to provide a rustic lake house feel with all the modern 21st amenities. A wooden ladder leads to an open high loft with 2 small and 1 large bed. All 3 very comfortable. The Master bedroom is on the first floor for those less adventurous. Our teenage and young adult children loved the loft and it's one of the signature features of the cabin but I imagine very young children would need to be closely supervised. When ready to return to civilization, you are only a 15 minute drive to downtown with a plethora of restaurant options. It's also conveniently located to nearby parks and attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to this little slice of heaven very soon.

This amazing secluded property was everything we hoped for in our romantic getaway. It's so relaxing just being in the woods, but there's also plenty to do down on the water. And it's still close to town, which is great, because we were surprised by all that Hot Springs has to offer. The cabin is cozy and comfortable and the porch is amazing. Despite not having an oven, we were still able to cook for two, using the hot plate and electric griddle. The gravel roads are steep, so you might want to leave the Lamborghini at home.Highly recommended property!

Not having a stove to cook on limited us but we made do with the electric griddle & electric burner. We spent a day at the cove paddle boating & kayaking. The walk was a bit further than we expected but we made it. All in all we had a great time & would rent this spot again. The drive to different sites was never more than 20 minutes.

The property was secluded and relaxing. It was a nice change of pace from the others I’ve stayed in, that have several other cabins within view. We loved the privacy of the part of the lake that was within walking distance. We also enjoyed the peddle boat and kayaks that are provided. The only negative takeaway was how steep the hill is to and from the lake area. To the point I wouldn’t drive our suv down it in fear of being stuck at the bottom. Overall this was an A place to stay!

We had a wonderful time with our family. We stayed in a cozy cabin surrounded by trees, and it was a great experience. Although the cabin was a bit small, it was cozy and perfect for spending quality time together. The cabin was located in a private gated community, which made us feel safe and secure. We enjoyed various activities such as kayaking and hiking on the forest trails, all within the private property. Downtown was only 15 minutes away, and there was a zip line just 3 minutes away, providing plenty of fun activities for the kids. The only downside was that there was no electric or gas stove in the cabin for cooking. Additionally, the fire pit was not allowed during our stay, which was a bit disappointing as we couldn't enjoy it at night. The cabin owner was very communicative and helpful.
