Have you ever booked a place, driven 5 hours, and then arrived to find out it wasn't as pictures showed. The minute I pulled up for my week long solitude retreat this place felt like home. I brought my inflatable kayak, a bunch of books & art supplies, and comfort food.....and it was a great way to just chill. Decided to venture out to Brule River for some hiking and kayaking adventures, and did not dissappoint! Great location, Great Spot, and perfect for a solo getaway.
This property surpassed our expectations. This was a perfect place for friends and family to visit us outdoors in the beautiful setting.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this property. The cabin was spotless, cozy, well decorated, and very comfortable. The view of the lake was lovely and we enjoyed using the fire pit in the very private back yard. There are so many trees that it felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves. The kitchen is small, but that was expected, and we managed to make all of our meals just fine. I don't know if you can swim anywhere in the lake, but we rented a small boat from the rental company that was recommended on the VRBO listing and we enjoyed having that. We were also able to ATV directly from the house and there are hiking trails nearby. Great cabin!!
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We brought our kayaks along and really enjoyed exploring the lake and taking the channel to the chain of lakes. McCarry Lake is very shallow, so it was perfect for our kayaks, but wouldn't work for a boat. We were very impressed with the cabin. It was very clean and updated. We also enjoyed the fire pit and outdoor area. There is even a clothesline outside to hang wet swimsuits. There are silverware, knives, plates, cups (small and large), cutting boards, measuring cups, bowls. We were impressed with the supplies. We did bring our own pans to cook. Cons: The bunk bed doesn't have a railing on the top bunk. The bunk bed did seem a little uncomfortable, but my 2-year-old slept just fine on it.
We loved our stay. The only thing that could be improved is the comfort of the bunk beds and could have used more kitchen supplies
