Why should you choose our Sparrow's Nest Sparrow's Nest offers our guest comfortable, peaceful, and affordable accommodations. If you’re planning a honeymoon, a special anniversary, ski retreat, a weekend hiking trip, white water rafting, shopping, or just a relaxing Smoky Mountain Vacation at an affordable price, we invite you to come and visit our Sparrow's Nest.

Sparrow's Nest is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin near Highway 32 in Cosby, only 5 minutes away from the Cosby entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains. The living room is spaced well enough for intimacy or comfort (or both, as necessary) and offer some lovely furnishings that bring to mind an antique/Appalachian feel. A TV with cable/satellite service and DVD player is next to a wood-burning fireplace.

The kitchen is small but fully appointed with amenities that include a microwave, toaster, dishwasher, coffee maker, oven, stove and all the necessary cookware.

A covered deck will offer many opportunities for a good chill out with a morning coffee, a favorite lunch, hot cocoa as the light fades over the hills, or just taking in the seasonal foliage while birdsong, likely from some neighboring sparrows a'nesting in the trees, serenades the environs. Along the side of the wraparound porch is the private hot tub.

This cabin is pet-friendly. If you have a dog, the pet fee is 25.00 per night for one and 50.00 per night for two.

The cabin wasn’t the cleanest. It was dusty, there was spider webs everywhere in and outside. It seemed like nobody had stayed there in a while. The hot tub was nice it was clean.

Property was nice but lots of steps to carry luggage & cooler down. I turned up the heat but never did get warm. Tried to start the fireplace but logs were too big without any kindling to go with it and I did not bring any. Hot tub was nice but it was a struggle for me to get the cover back on. Description said it had a grill but did not specify that it was charcoal and I did not bring any with me. Gas grill would be nice addition. Probably will not stay there again.

The cabin was nice an quiet. Everything worked, being in the woods incests are expected, however after returning from a day out we came back to the cabin to find a cockroche lying belly up on the bath room floor. We ended up cutting our stay short an booking a hotel for the last two days of our trip..

The cabin was so cozy and private! The jacuzzi felt great and the bed was so comfy! The only negative was learning to live without wifi and cell service…But isn’t that the purpose in going to the mountains!?!?

Loved the mountain setting, the privacy, and the cleanliness of the cabin and surroundings. The sound of the running creek, and the entertaining farm animals across the meadow were wonderful. The hot tub was perfect.

We enjoyed our stay at Sparrow’s Nest in late January 2026. The host communicated all check-in and check-out instructions well. The hot tub was lovely other than my husband started to get a rash- we suspect they may treat the tub with something other than choline (bromine maybe? -which he has a reaction to in the past). The kitchen is tiny, could use some updating (new cookware in particular), but is functional. The bedroom was colder than the rest of the cabin in spite of the heater running, but the provided extra blankets kept us warm. Overall we enjoyed a cozy few days in the snowy mountains.

This place is amazing! We got plenty of information well before arriving so we could review and be prepared. The cabin is ADORABLE. You are truly staying in someone's home away from home. It was decorated so beautifully, even with extra fall and Thanksgiving details. If I didn't live 1500 miles away, I would come back every season to see the new decorations. The owner must be a painter, or appreciate art because there were several hand painted antiques with beautiful mountain scenes, I really loved the winter scene on the hand saw over the fire place. The kitchen was perfect, 12 cup basket coffee maker (filters were there for our visit) blender, crockpot, plenty of pots and pans and dishes. I know some reviews complained about doing the dishes, but this normal in a rental and if you imagine your friend is letting you stay at thier place, you would want to treat it with the respect it deserves. The living room and couch are so comfortable I feel asleep there 3 times in two days. We had a snowy day and the cabin has plenty of cozy blankets and quilts to snuggle up in. The heat worked so fast that one or two degrees made a difference you could feel right away. Spacious bathroom for a cabin, clean and new. Sparrows Nest is clearly someone's pride and joy. Sadly, no bears visited us desite leaving several picnic baskets and a welcome bears greeting card out for them.If you read old reviews, you might see complaints, but every single thing had been addressed

Its a beautiful location. The hummingbird feeders were lovely as was the hottub and the bedroom. It was great to have a washer and dryer to clean towels and clothes. The kitchen is well stocked albeit small with little space to work in. Communication is difficult there as calls drop. The owner is attentive when you need him. I loved it and could have stayed much longer if I was able to. No bear sightings thank goodness.

The negativesThe property was a 22mile, 40 minute drive from GatlinburgThe turn in is horribly marked (they do recommend coming at daylight & note the conditions in their emails, and GPS will try to send you into someone's driveway (they've even got a posted sign, it happens often, lol). The view is really of someone's back yard &/or a farm and theres another cabin hidden from view but not far away (we never heard or saw the occupants). While in the pics it looks like you are completely alone. The couch (pull out sleeper) wasnt comfortable for sitting. There are extra charges for not cleaning up (dishes, etc). It's a small price & small work, but felt like it rushed us around checkout - 10am. There's nothing that is unscented or hypoallergenic for washing. It definitely caused me some allergic issues. Well stocked for utensils and cooking gear, k cups are at the dollar general in Cosby - 8 minute driveQuiet, sereneBeautiful foliage (including the drive, too) The hot tub was perfectShower's great, water gets hot super fastIn summaryIts a great, clean spot for a romantic getaway (not for the kids - any age), lots of pluses and absolutely lovely. The listing could more accurately depict the setting and location. (I want to see the whole picture ...even the cute wooden bear family in the neighbors backyard) I probably would have put it at a 5 star had the listing/pics been more accurate to the whole picture.

This little cabin was the perfect couple's getaway! The hot tub was so relaxing. Everything was clean, and the check-in process was a breeze. The host provided ample instructions, and we felt very prepared when we arrived at the cabin. I read the reviews and the host's listing, so I was aware of the entry steps, the longer drive to get into civilization, and the lack of provided supplies. Because I did research, these things were not issues to me. You'll find that the only negative reviews about this place are really just people not being prepared. If you make necessary arrangements, then you'll find that this cabin stay is everything you need. I would definitely stay here again!

First I’ll start with the pros. I’ve been meaning to rent a place with a hot tub and a mountain view that I can just watch sunsets and sunrises and this cabin did not disappoint. We loved the view off the porch and spent a good amount of time just watching the cows, calf’s, donkey, chickens, and geese. On the porch was a hot tub that we spent a good amount of time relaxing in and either watching the sun setting on Green mountain or star gazing. Both the bed and couch were comfortable places to relax and the washer and dryer were quite convenient to reset our clean laundry for the next leg of our trip. The things we noted during our stay were that it became clear that the pics used to advertise the cabin that we ended up staying in was a combination of cabins. Best we could tell it was a blend of pictures from the larger cabin next door and some outside shots of the smaller cabin we ended up in. Next on the list was the stove and oven were smaller than normal and we were only able to get one of the coil burners to work. The one time we attempted to turn on the TV we couldn’t get it to work despite following the posted directions. We aren’t big tv watchers but I know some may find this to be more of an issue than others. On that note, there is no WiFi and cell signal is sparse so may not be a good option if you need to remain connected. There are also chores posted on the fridge to complete or be met with extra fees… in addition to the cleaning fees you’re paying already.

I was looking for a place to just unwind after a very chaotic few months, and this place was perfect for that! The area was nice and quiet and the hot tub was the perfect way to end the day. It’s away from the fast pace of Gatlinburg, but close enough to travel into town to eat or explore. The fact that it is pet friendly was just an added bonus!

If you want a pretty and cruvey hour drive to town, this is the place for you. It was just my husband and I for our anniversary. The place is very small. The one TV in the living room/dining room/ kitchen was so small we could not see. We are old (50's) but it was tough. The hot tub is not for more than 2 people or a heafty man. Was very thankful they had room spray, it was very musty. This is probably good for a young couple on a budget with no children.

This cabin was absolutely perfect. The location was breathtaking with the privacy and the beautiful colors of the leaves changing for the fall. The cabin was cozy, beautifully adored, and well furnished! The hot tub was excellent! Perfect temperature and towels left for us to use specifically for the hot tub. Communication with the managers was outstanding. They always responded within an hour or less to any question or, comments I had. We completely enjoyed visit and will definitely use this cabin again when we’re back in the area. It was a delightful stay. I would encourage anyone to stay here and be as satisfied as we were! Now for the cons. I’ve never stayed anywhere that coffee was not provided, even hotels. But at this cabin, coffee was not provided, nor sweetener or creamer packs were provided. There was no firewood. We had been told that this would not be provided, but that any dollar store would have some. After going out and stopping at three stores, none of them had firewood. This was very disappointing and could be easily fixed by the owners providing. Also, one thing that really turned me off, was having to wash, dry, and put back up our dirty dishes. This was never mentioned in anything describing the cabin. It was it suggested, but we realized we would be charged $25 if any dirty dishes were left. It made us feel like the owners are being cheap and unappreciative of their guests. Other than those cons, we had a great visit.

I booked 4 nights here but left after 2. Paid for a different bnb to finish my vacation at. Host company didn’t even care or ask why, that’s fine, not their problem. I will elaborate. It’s overpriced, should be under $100 a night. The kitchen is unusable, the stove is super tiny and old. The bed and pull out are both worn out, super springy, and uncomfortable . The air conditioning vents are rusted out and gross looking, and whistle as air passes through them. The one bathroom is in the dead center of the house, so when someone is using it, half of the house becomes inaccessible. Amenities are non existent. Sure, there’s a hot tub, but there is no switch or timer to turn it off, so you have to listen to it hum all night. There’s no wifi AND no cell tower service at the house. The TV there is about 15 inches small, and again you can’t run any of your smart programs on it. The view is the pictures is deceiving because the trees have matured and grown to a size that blocks almost all of the mountains from the porches perspective. And lastly, there is a neighbor behind the house that does yard work at night, driving her tractor and using her weed eater at 8:30 at night. This place needs to be updated to stay at this price point.
