The cabin is so cute! Great location! Very close to downtown Gatlinburg! It has everything you need for a wonderful family getaway! My kids loved the playroom; they didn't want to leave! Everything was fantastic! Our host, Jess, was so friendly and always responded promptly to our questions! Thank you!

Check in was easy. House is beautiful. With that being said it is in need of a deep cleaning inside and out. The kitchen stove was dirty and there was no cleaning supplies so I couldn’t clean it myself (only thing provided was some weird dish soap that was more like jello than soap. When they say starter set of supplies you get 1 trash bag, 1 laundry pod, 1 cheap paper towel, 1 roll toilet paper per bathroom. For a house that sleeps 14 they need to provide more basic supplies especially trash bags and laundry soap because they don’t provide 14 towels or wash cloths. We only had 9 people but went to the pool so we had to wash towels twice daily just to have clean towels also only 1 kitchen towel. The grill needs cleaning inside and out. The deck needs cleaning rocks and spider webs that if they would sweep every time they clean would make a huge difference. Need to fix hot tub so you can set temp easily. All windows need cleaning so you can see outside. Kitchen cabinet doors need cleaning food is everywhere on them. Need to replace some of the skillets and get some large ones since again it’s advertised for 14 people the biggest skillet is 8”. Need more silverware. Enjoyed the fire pit and we had a bear walk across the yard.

Had a really good time. We didn’t get to enjoy the hot tub or fire pit because we were so busy with activities.

I had a lovely stay with my family before my wedding. Beautiful retreat into nature, the house was accommodating & comfortable & clean. The kids had so much fun in the game room and running around the property. I hope to come back soon. We came from 3 states and to all stay together was such a gift. Thanks Jess!

The cabin was perfect for what we were looking for, and it made me and my wife's big day better! This cabin is great if you're looking for the Smoky mountains, feel and views without the chaos of staying around pigeon forge! Townsend is a very beautiful area with lots of great restaurants.

We had a great stay at Cades Cabin even with rain due to the hurricane! Cades Cabin was perfect for younger kids (our 3 yr old and 11month old) who enjoyed having indoor and outdoor space to move about and play rain or shine. It was also great that the owner provided a baby gate for the stairs. We did not end up using the baby highchair or crib, but happy to see they were available. My family really enjoyed the main living area where all 12 of us could sit and eat together, and when the rain let up we enjoyed a night by the fire. The outside living space is such a cozy vibe. I will miss the wrap around covered deck watching the rain with coffee in hand in the mornings. The view from the porch is blocked from the abundance of trees, but the secluded area and peace and quiet makes up for it. When the rain poured and poured down, we were grateful to be high up on the hill away from it all! My one and only suggestion for the property would be an addition of HOOKS for hanging laundry, coats, towels etc.

Cabin was as advertised, however, we were unable to use the fire pit or grill because of constant bear activity. We spoke with a resident and were told that two bear families were in residence and that the bear activity was known to all property owners. We were not informed by VRBO or the host that bear encounters were to be expected and that we should be cautious when we went outside. Stayed 3 days and had 5 very close encounters (on the porch, in the front and back yard, in the driveway) with mama and 3 cubs. We did nothing to attract these animals - they simply showed up looking for food on a regular basis. We would not have rented this property if this had been disclosed. Stay safe!

The property is in a excellent location to the Smokie's. Easy to access Gatlinburg for anyone that likes the activities of town. Also very convenient to Wears valley Smokies entrance or Townsend Smokies entrance. Overall all the family said this was the best cabin we stayed at to fit everyone's interest. There are bears that are active so make sure you lock your doors on your vehicles because they can open them.

We just completed 4 day stay at Cades Cabin (Spacious Family Cabin) with our extended adult family. What a GREAT TIME! It's hard to get everyone on the same page when they are coming together from 4 states spread across the country, but Cades Cabin was exactly what we needed! The cabin was well appointed and there was enough room for all 9 of us to be comfortable and not get in each others way. We were able to prepare and share meals together, and hang out on the wrap around porch. The hot tub, porch swing, rocking chairs and grilling areas are all on that porch and we enjoyed being outside but under cover when the afternoon rain showers rolled through. The grounds are well kept and help lend to the privacy of the property. The property is located midway between Pigeon Forge and Townsend and close to multiple attractions. Booking Cades Cabin through VRBO was a breeze and working with the owners for reservations was easy. Everyone has that fear in the back of their head that they might not be able to get ahold of an owner or a property manager during their stay should a problem arise. I can say from experience this is not the case when it comes to Cades Cabin. Upon arrival our party experienced some issues gaining entry to the property with the security coded lock on the entry door. But a quick phone call was made and the owners had us taken care of with a new code within minutes. Honestly, we could not have asked for a better response or result. Great experience! 5 ?

We had a great time hiking in the mountains. We were greeted by a black bear the first morning. Check out was challenging, mama bear came back with her cubs and charged at us while trying to load up the car. No one was injured in the encounter. I hope we got all the trash out. We had to chase off the bear and run for the car. It was definitely a trip we will never forget. Totally awesome!
