The rooms were very clean and provided everything we could possibly need. The hot tub was wonderful and very clean. The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. I felt like I was home. ❤️

Owls Nest is a quiet, cozy cabin on Deep Creek Lake. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need for a relaxing mountain getaway! They provided us with detailed information about the surrounding area including excellent recommendations for nearby dining, sight seeing, etc. I would highly recommend Owls Nest whether you are a couple seeking a romantic getaway or a family looking for a fun vacation! We had an amazing weekend and look forward to returning!

Owner is so responsive and we have everything what we need in kitchen. Very clean , warm and cozy house. Hot tub is very clean and can fit 6-7 persin even tho we are only 4 pwrson. Bed room is a little bit small if you are big person. But we are ok with that. Over all, we like this owl nest.

We cannot recommend this listing enough! So many accommodations and activities to do, it honestly felt like an oasis that we never had to leave for our 4 day stay with our two young kids!!! The kids absolutely loved all the outdoor fun but also enjoyed the puzzles and activities inside. At night it was so so nice for us to enjoy the hot tub and sauna and have our own relaxing time. We cannot wait to go back, it was so relaxing!

The house is very well equipped inside and out. Despite the rainy weather we found plenty to do with DVDs, lots to read and suggestions for eateries and activities in the Howell's guide book. The hot tub was the best we had ever been in and we were able to enjoy it in the rain and finally sun! The outdoor property is enchanting and would be fun for little ones. We didn't get to use the kayaks but vests of all sizes were available inside, nice and clean. My husband fished off the dock mornings and evenings with success as rivers were too high. We intend to come back. It was the BEST!!

The cabin was so well equipped. We took full advantage of the kayaks, sauna, and all the dvds through sunny and rainy days. This was an exceptionally cozy and relaxing experience!

Dave and Pearle have created such a wonderfully curated, comfortable cabin at the Owl's nest and I can't recommend it highly enough. The communication and helpful materials are the best I've encountered through VRBO or similar sites. You've got everything you could possibly need for whatever type of trip you have in mind, be it an active trip on the water or nearby hiking, or a relaxing trip reading in the hammock or enjoying the sauna (incredible) or hot tub. Do not hesitate and do yourself a favor: stay at the Owl's Nest for a fantastic trip to DCL.

The property was as advertised. The dock, fire pit, outdoor area in general were all wonderful.

Had a wonderful time at this location. Cabin was very clean and well organized for the space. Games aplenty for kids if you have them, activities galore in the surrounding area as well. Location is lakeside, but on a semi-secluded side. There are neighbors of course, but the area was quite quiet when I was there, perfect for a nice relaxing vaca! Hot tub was delightful, right out back on the balcony, secluded from everything but the cabin and lake. I did not try out the sauna, but there is one! While here enjoy nightly fires in the fire-pit out back by the lake, or a cozy fire in the gas stove inside the cabin. There is literally so many good things to say about this place I would need something akin to a short novel to include them all! Hosts were excellent, although I did not interact with them much, they were prompt to answer questions and offer advice about the area as well as the rental.

We had a lovely long weekend at the Owl's Nest. Pearle and David were excellent hosts, with great communication throughout the entire process. They were very concerned that everything was to our expectations and that we had the best time. The cabin is very cozy and is complete with anything you could possibly need during your stay. They have a ton of board games and activities around the grounds such as basketball, hop scotch, frisbee golf and even axe throwing! The grounds are lovely, offering unexpected themed walking paths, offering a tribute to the Beatles, Alice in Wonderland, fun frogs and a fairly village. And the outdoor hot tub is heavely! They are currently building an outdoor Swedish sauna which will be the best. David and Pearle even made a point of ensuring that their boat dock was in place in time for our visit, knowing that we were bringing our boat with us. I rate this property 1000 out of 100! Great rental. We will definitely be making a return trip soon. Thank you so much Pearle and David!

Very clean, comfortable bed, cozy interior. We fully enjoyed our stay and all the fun anemities. Dave and Pearle set us up with everything we needed including guides to area sites to see! The grounds are so charming and takes you back to your childhood! Absolutely will visit Owls Nest again!

This was our 3rd time staying in the Owls Nest Cabin and once again it was a wonderful experience. The cabin is so cozy and the perfect size for our family of 4. We spent a good amount of time relaxing on the dock and enjoying the many outdoor activities. The hosts are so kind and answer questions almost immediately. I would recommend this cabin to anyone and we hope to come again!

This cabin is the cutest and coziest gem! Myself, my husband and our 2 kid's (9&7) enjoyed every minute of their spring break vacation! From the moment we arrived, it was basketball, swinging, and tons of games. They literally have stuff for all ages from puzzles, busy boards, and cards to a computer - my kids got to game a bit. There are SO MANY things to do on the property! The whimsical trail, the yard games, DVD collection, etc. And our munchkins had their very first fishing and dock experience, including a cold plunge in the lake! The placement of the hot tub is great because you can either view the water and stargaze or watch TV lol We enjoyed the complimentary smores, wine, treats, and made use of the grill. When they say just bring you and your food they mean it! FULLY stocked kitchen, paper products, appliances and seasonings included, but make sure you bring butter/oil to glaze the pans or Walmart is only 20 minutes from the cabin to grocery shop. My kids enjoyed heating their beds at night and playing the Gameboy together in the room. I appreciated the Easter/Bunny decor and pillow covers as I love celebrating holidays/themes. The land is beautiful, the views are surely a sight, bird chirps, deer, and chipmunks were a plus. We also got to go home with clean clothes! (Pack pods) We had an amazing stay and didn’t want to leave. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us, we loved it!

We spent a lovely 3 day weekend here for my husbands birthday. The place is exactly as shown in the pictures and there is so many different things to do on the property especially for kids. My kids skateboarded around the driveway and played basketball half of the trip. We loved being able to go down onto the dock first thing in the morning and watch the mist on the water. It is very quiet here as it is one of the last homes on the road. The hot tub was very clean and huge! We watched a handful of movies while we were here as they have a wide selection including recently released movies. The beds are extremely comfortable. The entire place is inviting, very similar to the owners. They were there when we first arrived and showed us around the property. Some of the loveliest people we have come across in a long time. This place is incredibly charming and it is made clear very quickly that they have spared no expense to make their guests feel at home. We enjoyed oursleves immensely and plan on making this an annual trip for our family. Thank you Pearle and Dave for everything!

I had a pleasant stay for four nights in Owl's Nest. I was up in the area to ski at Wisp. The back way to and from the resort made the drive only about 10 minutes or so. The cabin is stocked with everything that one could possibly need. The hot tub was great!

Everything about this home is great! The location, scenery, amenities, the host checked in on us to make sure everything was good! It felt like home away from home! Very comfortable. We even used the hot tub on the chilly evenings! I would highly recommend this home for anyone or any family.

We loved our stay at Owl’s Nest! The cabin had everything we needed and more. It was clean, comfy and had great views. The owners provided all the comforts of home and lots of information about things to do in the area. We plan to go back.

The host was welcoming and quick to respond by text to any questions. The amenities were outstanding including a s'mores packet and coffee bar. The location on the lake can't be beat. The quality of the cookware and utensils is remarkable, heads and shoulders above other vacation rentals. The beds were so comfortable we drifted off to sleep in no time. Its an older cabin with plenty of supplemental heat sources to ward off any chills.

We loved our stay at the Owl’s Nest. Our teens particularly enjoyed the hot tub, which was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Hosts were very helpful and responsive. They sent copious information regarding the Owl's Nest and the area ahead of our arrival. The cabin was very comfortable (comfortable bed and fluffy towels), very clean and even dcorated for Christmas. I cooked Christmas day and found everything I needed in the well-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed our stay at Owls Nest. The home was full of amenities. We were greated with a welcome gift of snacks and beverages. Hot tub was hot beds were comfy. Gas stove gave us not only convenient heat but also a great ambiance. The view was fantastic. We spent most of the weekend just looking at the water and watching deer run through the yard. This is the second time I’ve stayed at the owls nest cabin. Extremely clean and cozy. The cabin is right on the lake with a private dock. The owners have canoes and kayaks which we used daily during our stay. The hot tub was great during chilly Oct nights. Our stay was fabulous. Highly recommend 10/10.

The owners were still there when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. They were nice enough to show us the property and how everything worked before they departed. The cabin although small was perfect for us. The owners really care about their guests by providing many amenities and activities for the guests they even included their personal touch like a fantasy garden to walk through. The place was clean the hot tub very easy to operate. We spent a lot of time just reading and relaxing on the dock which is perfect for boating and kayaking all needed items were supplied. It is easy to see when the host cares about their guests and at OWLS NEST one knows that they do. Cant wait to return.

My stay at the Owl's Nest was a pleasant one. The rental was well stocked with everything I needed and much, much more. Despite some rainy weather there was still plenty to do and the hot tub was excellent. I highly recommend this rental and will let my friends know about my wonderful experience.

Great attention to detail. This is (as listed) a very small cabin, but let me telll you, every square inch is used in the best way.It was just my husband, my nephew and me. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. Even had some deer walk into the yard not 10 feet from where I was sitting.The hot tub is super clean and inviting. And you MUST go visit Swallow Falls.I can't say enough how beautiful this lake area is. We will be back.Oh, and David and Pearle are great hosts!

This was an exceptional rental. Although the house is small every space was used to the fullest! Everything needed for cooking, and cleaning was available! The house was clean and super comfortable. The firepit, whimsical gardens.. outstanding! Kayaks and canoes were available to use off your own dock. Sitting in the Adirondack chairs that were on the dock in the morning was a most enjoyable way to have my morning coffee. The owner was most personable and quickly responded to a question. Our stay was truly amazing, exceeding a 5 Star rating!!

A wonderful getaway with so many opportunities to lounge, explore, enjoy water sports, and be transported to whimsical, magical worlds.

This is our second stay at Owl’s Nest. The cottage has everything you need to be comfortable and have fun. The cove is quiet and offers great fishing and wildlife viewing. I was lucky to see an otter swim by which made my day. David and Pearle are very accommodating and responsive.

This place was one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed at. The location is great, the house and amenities are great, the private dock is perfect, etc. This is great for a couple or smaller families. We kayaked, went fishing off dock, went in hot tub, played board games, and even rented a boat for a day.Cannot say enough about how accommodating and helpful they were, too! Definitely want to stay again!

The Owl’s nest property is beautifully decorated with a unique walking path. The beds were very comfortable and the house was well stocked with everything you could need. Communication with the owners was excellent. They provided detailed info on the surrounding area’s restaurants, parks and other amenities. We met the hosts upon arrival and they could not have been more helpful.

Took my girlfriend here to celebrate her birthday. We were pleasantly surprised by the quaintness of the property. TONS of fun games here to play together. Also, if you have little kids, this is the perfect place to come with some little ones to get into a world of fun and games. Definitely would recommend!

Owl's Nest was the sweetest little cabin for a minibreak. The house was incredibly well stocked (best pans and kitchen supplies i have EVER seen in a rental). We enjoyed our Easter in the small cabin - watching storms roll in on Sat and Monday. And taking the owners advice and visiting Swallow Falls for a hike on Easter Sunday. The hot tub was clean and nice. The outdoor seating was lovely (and the weather meant we took advantage of the outside area a lot).

My family of 4 absolutely loved staying at the Owls Nest. It was everything we needed to be able to enjoy a few days away! Our kiddos loved fishing off the dock and going out in the kayaks, to playing all the available yard games and ending the days relaxing in the hottub! We cant wait to go back!!

Owls Nest is a true gem. Comfortable and complete. The hosts had everything necessary to have a carefree vacation! Clothing and food is all that’s needed to bring. We loved all the artwork and pieces made by the host and family. We visited the trail walk and garden three times and found something new each visit! Take the time to really look, you’ll be impressed! The furniture was comfortable and we slept very well. They had the dock in the water for us and the views and sunset from there were really relaxing. We look forward to spending time here in warmer weather to enjoy the kayaks and some swimming. The play ground equipment would be very enjoyable for young children. The hosts truly go above and beyond for our comfort and joy! Also got to see a great sunset from the comfort of the hot tub

We walked into the cabin and it was spotless. The owners have thought of anything you might need to include toiletries, paper plates, napkins. They had a great list of activities and hikes. We took three of the hikes. The hot tub was clean and easy to use. The view from the back was spectacular looking at the lake.

The Owls Nest was a wonderful cozy cottage with every imaginable amenity! The hosts were perfectly attentive, with offer of assistance during some wintery weather. Even though the weather fought to keep us indoors we did venture out to the hot tub and found it to be one of the best kept and fully featured hot tubs we've had the pleasure to use! Loved the place!

Perfect Thanksgiving getaway! The cabin was super clean, cozy, well equipped and we appreciated the extra amenities. David and Pearle were great hosts. Our two young sons had a great time and loved the toys, games, play area and endless DVD collection. Although it was cold and snowy, so didn’t venture too far, we were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the hot tub!

Property is stunning, pictures don’t do it justice. Cabin was super clean, inviting and cozy. Our 4 year old son loved his time as well, plenty of games and toys for kids of all ages provided as well as family style activities and indoor entertainment. Will definitely stay again!

The property is great, and one of amenities, brilliant location, everything you need for a comfortable stay. So many nice touches from the carvings to the decor, the hammock to the dock. Definitely worth coming in warm and cold weather.

I've stayed in quite a few rentals and this was by far the best. Exactly what you would want for a mountain getaway in the winter. We were were lucky enough to have stayed during a snow storm - which made this place look and feel like the location of one of my wife's Christmas hallmark movies. Owls Nest had every imaginable amenity, incredibly clean, well kept and the location was quiet and private. Quaint but plenty of room for both of us and our two young daughters. About a 15 minute drive into town and all the typical activities in DCL. Hosts were easy to reach and very pleasant. We will absolutely be returning in the summer to enjoy the outdoor/lake activities.

We stayed three nights at this beautiful place in Deep Creek lake and had the most wonderful time! The hosts truly thought of every need you might have, and they were very communicative and informative about the property and surrounding areas. The cabin and hot tub / grounds are immaculately maintained and kept. We barely needed to leave once but did go to enjoy a morning hike at Swallow Falls. We highly recommend this property and will hopefully be back soon!

This by far was one of the best rental we have stayed at, and we have at a few. This original rustic cabin, is updated and has a very cozy, comfy feel to it. It is stocked with such attention to detail. Everything you could want. Very clean inside and out. Would highly recommend it, and would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the Owl's Nest for a small friend's trip. We originally booked this location because of the incredible location and how much there seemed to be on the property. From the hot tub, to the available kayaks, to the gardens and basketball hoop -- we used everything and had an absolute blast! The house itself is incredible cozy the location is beautiful! Plus communication with the hosts, Dave and Pearle, was proactive, clear, and very appreciated. I'd say the only negative was that our group didn't book for longer :) The whole time everyone talked about how we couldn't wait to come back on another trip! Though the weather did not cooperate, the cabin and all the amenities were first class. We journeyed out to Summit Inn, Laurel Caverns, two wineries and two casinos. We did use the gas grill, and it worked fine,

We especially enjoyed the available kayaks for use and loved how peaceful and quiet being right by the lake was. If you have kids, lots of indoor and outdoor games are available to use as well. We returned this year because we had such an enjouable experience last Fall. We expected this year to be a wonderful vacation and it was. The cottage is cozy, comfortable and charming. There is plenty to do in the area, but mainly we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.
