We are well seasoned VRBO home renters, who know what makes a good property. This home has a very nice design, but needed TLC to make it truly great. A few of the issues: * The oven was broken, and replaced by a very small (dirty) convection unit on the counter. Not acceptable for the food that we always prepare and bring while on vacation. * Several pieces of family room furniture were weathered and need to be replaced. * The owners live in an attached structure, so we never felt totally alone. They did keep to themselves, but it felt weird. * There was a constant smell of marijuana - from the plants growing just outside, and from use in the adjoining structure. We kept certain windows open to provide some fresh air. * There were no curtains in several areas where they should have been - in particular the upstairs bathroom. That said - the home was convenient to Mesa Verde and Canyon of the Ancients parks - and Four Corners if that is on your TO DO list. It is very close to Dolores for supplies, but still feels remote. The driveway could be a challenge in winter weather, but was fine for our minivan during this visit. AND – after complaining a bit about the broken oven, the owner did give us an appropriate refund on the rental price.
Had a great time in a wonderful home. I would have liked blinds in the master bathroom as the current owners have a window that looks right up into shower area. Would definitely recommend
