The creek was a great feature. Wish it hadn't rained so we could have enjoyed the fire pit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been booking through Sliding Rock for years now and have always had a good experience. This was our first time at Song of the South and we loved the little creek and the remote location. The fenced area for the dogs isn't as large as some of the other cabins, so if you need a huge fenced area try a different cabin, but the fire pit by the creek is great! The power went out Saturday and I had to call the after hours number for the first time and they answered and kept me updated. We will be definitely continue to book with Sliding Rock Cabins!

Great size for a couple to spend a weekend. We felt so away from everything and everyone. There is a fenced area for the pups but it is on a very steep incline. Only issue we had was our littlest dog getting out from under the gate. We will absolutely be visiting this spot aga6!

Inside and out, this cabin was all we wanted and more! We were hoping to see the beauties of nature and the cabin did not disappoint. The creel was teaming with crawdads. In the mornings and evenings, deer would cross on a path directly across the creek from the upper floor. Also in the evenings, a massive blue heron would stop by to do a little fishing. Speaking of fishing, some decent size trout would come to feed around 7:00pm or so. I was unsuccessful at catching any but it was fun trying. Birds were everywhere, bunnies played in the driveway, and even a friendly black snake came by for a visit. Staying at the cabin was like being in a nature documentary. If nature is your thing, you will LOVE it! It's definitely on our list for a return visit!

We came here to get away from everything and unwind and it is perfect for that.

Could not get the lid off the hot tub it was so heavy. My husband hurt his back trying to lift it. It took us two days to get it back on. Lol The view was amazing, but there were no cell service and we stayed lost a lot. I think the price was a little much for what was offered. The Creek and the porches made this stay.

So welcoming, so peaceful, so relaxing. Couldn’t have asked for more.

The communication, the rustic feel and the creek was awesome. I will definitely come back. 5 stars isn't enough!

Reviewer Comments: Cabin was cozy and well suited for our needs! Pups and us, especially my grandson, loved the little creek behind the cabin - it was my grandson's 1st creek experience! The screened in porch was also nice and the drive to the cabin, easy. The screened in area for the dogs is pretty steep and so not a space you'd want to keep them for very long. Good place for keeping them while loading in and out though.

Cabin was perfect little getaway to relieve some stresses of today’s world. Highly recommend The Last Catch restaurant in Jasper, just a few miles away. Great fresh seafood! Happened to be there during a festival which was amazing. Overall I’d highly recommend this as a great place to escape to.

Favorite part is the firepit area with the babbling sound that is so peaceful and private. Love the hot tub area. The cabin has all we needed and nice a clean. This year we went to Dahlonega and loved it. WE rode the train last year and did the rail bikes this year.

Kind of hard to find but that's what you want in a secluded cabin in the woods. Fortunately the directions provided were excellent.The only improvement I could make would be to screen in the hot-tub. We didn't have time to use it, but if it was screened it might have tempted us more.Great for a couple, or two couples that are very close.

Songs of the South is really easy to find and can get there with any type of vehicle. We will be back in the fall.

The lighting in the kitchen was still not good. We struggled trying to prepare meals. It would help if you could remove the TV cabin and put something smaller there or hang it on the wall. It would have been nice to have the screen porch clean from spider webs and leaves. Same for all around the outside of the house. I had to take the broom and sweep as much as I could. I would have brought my leaf blower if I had known. I understand you are in a low terrine that doesn't help. Otherwise we enjoyed the firepit area and hot tub.

My wife 2 dogs and myself had a great time at the cabin in the mountains. The creek in the back was awesome to sit by while enjoying a fire. I will definitely return in the future.
