COVID-19 Information: We take our guests and cleaners safety very seriously. We implement CDC cleaning guidelines including disinfecting all touch points as well as switching out comforters for each stay. Our Cleaners will be wearing masks while cleaning and we will also be spacing out our renters at least 72 hours apart. Once our cleaners clean and disinfect, we try to give the cabin at least 48 hours of no one being in the cabin at all so it can detox before your check in. <br>
The following is recommended from the CDC that we are following that could affect your stay so PLEASE READ BEFORE booking:

- According to SB County Covid-19 Law: Only members of immediate family/ those living in the same house normally will be allowed to rent/ stay in the same rental.

- To keep things as safe per instructions of the CDC we have removed extra blankets, throw pillows and decorative pillows from the cabin.

- We recommend cleaning all dishes, utensils, glass wear, cups etc before using. We cannot guarantee that the cleaners have cleaned every single one before your arrival.

- To keep the town of Big Bear Lake Healthy- you are required to wear a mask while off the property outside anywhere in Big Bear Lake where you might come within 6 feet of someone who is not staying in your cabin. Please respect this rule as we want to keep Big Bear and all our visitors healthy.

- We ask that you please bring your own groceries. Big Bear is a small town and they have asked that only locals shop at the grocery stores otherwise they will have supply chain issues. The restaurants are open for safe pick up and delivery.

- Since we are cleaning the home and then for your safety leaving it unoccupied after cleaning, we will not be doing our usual day of inspection. This could mean extra dust, cobwebs, ants, leaves on decks, light bulbs that blew out that day or other minor issues can arise.. We apologize for that but again our main goal is to keep you safe.

Due to extreme shortages we will not be able to leave any extra cleaning supplies for your use other than dish sponge and dish soap. We DO provide hand soap in each bathroom. But we won’t have cleaners such as lysol, clorox wipes etc. Please feel free to bring your own.

We do have TOILET PAPER! We will be leaving 2 rolls of TP per toilet!

---------------------------

There is a NO SMOKING property. That includes inside AND outside the cabin. Sorry, we have been finding too many cigarette butts outside and can no longer allow.

Stay in an authentic Bear Big historic cabin was built in 1951 by a Hollywood prop master over 3 years using only hand tools. Everything is amazingly solid yet and in great condition and updated with dual pane windows and central heat, Wifi, and a brand new fully enclosed deck (built Oct 2017) with huge spa, comfy seating and dining table.

The back yard has tons of trees and it's own sledding hill and tree house!

The kitchen is a throw back mid century modern complete with vintage, mint condition O'Keffe and Meritt stove and 1940s fridge. (Since it is all authentic the fridge only has a tiny icebox attached to it)

Downstairs you enter into the most comfortable and cozy living room in Big Bear complete with hand built stone / extra deep fireplace. The original owner actually built it with special in and outtake vents so it actually warms up the entire cabin.

In the living room there is a 3 person couch, a reading chair and a chess table and 2 comfy chairs with backyard views. We also have a vanity filled with 1950s toys, books and puzzles. But if that's not enough, the coffee table has a secret... It opens up and is filled with even more games for the entire family!

Off of the living room is the first bedroom with queen bed, dressing table, large cedar closet and old school rotary telephone for that throw back feel!

The bedroom has access to the bathroom which also has access from the other side of the house thru the powder room.

Upstairs to the left there a bedroom with full size bed and 2 twins and more kids books! This bedroom could be considered a loft as you walk up the stairs and it is open- so no door to get in it.

To the right up the stairs is a closed off bedroom with a queen bed.

Just to let you know, the stairs are steeper than modern day stairs due to the throw back nature of the home. So we do ask that you be careful when staying.

Our family had fun with the sledding in back, located very close to Bear Mountain. No kindling or lighter to start fire but was able to run and buy them and left the lighter for next guest. Would suggest to upgrade the mattresses throughout and look to add a washer/dryer for laundry for longer stay guests.

The cabin was well maintained, had all of the basics that we needed and was so charming!! We enjoyed the many boarded games and puzzles while sitting in front of a big fire in the beautiful stone fireplace. The backyard is great for kids to run around and do a little sledding. We really appreciate being able to bring our dogs with us, they had an awesome time! The upstairs bedrooms can fit quite a few people and it was very cozy and warm up there. The master bedroom was nicely furnished and comfortable. The bathroom is a little small but what do you express from an older cabin, it worked fine for our family of four! The kitchen has almost everything you need (I did miss having a dishwasher) and loved using the O’Keefe and Merritt stove (so cool!). Also we had plenty of hot water and the heaters worked great so no issues at all being there in the winter. Mike was very helpful via email and checked in with us before and during the stay to make sure we were in good shape. Thank you!

I stayed here for a 2 night stay so I could hike the local mountains. The cabin is well-maintained and has the cutest vintage kitchen. We had planned to eat out several times but loved the kitchen so much we wound up cooking in more than planned. There's also a cozy living room with a working fireplace that we enjoyed as we settled on the couch for Netflix at night. And the beds are so toasty and warm during the cold nights. The neighborhood is quiet and centrally located for almost any stop in Big Bear so it's the perfect location. Very close to several great hikes into the mountains. We hiked to 8,000 to Grand View Point which rewards you with an amazing view of the surrounding area. Mike is a great host and makes checking in and out so easy. He was very responsive when we had questions. All in all, it was the perfect 3 day get-away in a great retro cabin. Thanks, Mike. We'll be back!
