Simple Pleasures at the River

Loved sitting on the porch rocking chairs watching and listening to the river.

This cabin was perfect for our family of 3 getaway! The views are perfect. The host was quick to respond to my messages. We really felt like we were 10-15 minutes away from every place we wanted to visit in Luray!

I can’t recall when I have been so relaxed! My friend and I were spending our time creating and crafting projects during our days there. Our bodies were in need of the hot tub and could see the stars while in it (city gals). Listening to the river, the wonderful breeze sitting on the porch was wonderful. And I could go on and on abt the house itself. I haven’t slept that well in ages and my back didn’t hurt after sleeping on the mattress! Many games of and Pac-Man too lol.Wonderful host. Loaned me a phone charger when I forgot mine. Thx again for the hospitality!

This place is a rare find! Some much space, highly attentive hosts, and so many fun things to do. Kids loved the arcade, hot tub, and fishing by the river. Hiking and Luray caverns were a hit! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

We loved staying here! The cabin was clean, cozy, fully stocked, spacious, and the host was prompt in communication. We enjoyed the hot tub, game room, and fishing on the river. It was a beautiful, quiet, and peaceful getaway. We hope to come again!

Everything was great . I think that the hot tub needs to be serviced. The jets on both sides of the control panel didn’t function properly

We had an awesome stay here. The cabin was super clean, in a perfect location, and had everything we needed and more. It was comfortable, easy, and exactly what we were hoping for. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time at this cabin. The location and scenery were both unbelievable. The host was so accommodating and made sure everything was stocked. They even provided our family of 4 with brand new life jackets for kayaking. If I had any questions, they replied quickly. They even checked in on us during our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory. Great place and great people. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful house on the river. It was so quiet , relaxing and everything was so clean. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the hot tub since we forgot our suits. We checked out Fort Valley Ranch for Horse back riding and the Haunted House as we were there for Halloween.

The cabin was beautiful, very clean and well stocked. Excellent communication with the host. Great location, felt secluded, but quick access to town for shopping and dining. The hot tub was very clean and the game room was a great bonus. Will definitely stay again.

The host , Jan, was fantastic. Very responsive to any questions we had. The cabin was beautiful and VERY clean. We had everything we needed as far as amenities. Beds and furniture were very comfortable! We had beautiful views of the river.

The cabin feels brand new. The beds were comfortable. Extremely clean. We spent majority of our time on the front porch watching the water and enjoying the warm fall days and evenings. Kitchen was well equipped for making meals. Game room was a fun touch. Hot tub was clean and warm. Luray Caverns were nearby. Food Lion and Walmart were accessible for anything you may need.

Cabin was beautiful-extremely clean. Decorations were stunning. We had a wonderful stay!

This was the cutest cabin ever! Its so simple yet had everything you could need including tubes, fishing poles, arcade games, pool table and a hot tub. The place was spotless and honestly i said numerous times i could live here. Thank you so much for sharing your piece of comfort and relaxation!

Our stay was absolutely amazing very Quiet great spot on the river awesome fire pit the entire place was just amazing. With the sound of cows mooing in the morning it was just great.

My wife and I had an amazing stay.the view of the river from the porch was very relaxing. We cooked our own food and just enjoyed the atmosphere.

Great location and house everything you need would stay there again. I would give a 10/10 if I had to just pick a few items...a dishwasher would be nice, and maybe a queen beds because the rooms are big enough. But everything was great they really thought of everything from the firewood, to camping chairs, to fishing rods, etc. WONDERFUL!!

My buddy and I brought our 2 sons (12 & 13) to the cabin and had an awesome time. Everything as advertised, house was new and super clean, fishing was great, property had everything you need. Luray was close enough to get what you need but the cabin was isolated enough so you felt you were deep in the woods. Appreciate the work the owners put in to make sure we had a good experience.

My husband and I stayed here for our 20th anniversary. It was a great cabin, very peaceful and quite area. Loved the game room when we got bored enough to need something to do but didnt want to go out! Close enough to town without being in town!

everything was very nice. But guests should be aware that you must bring soap for your shower, Kleenex tissue if you need that, a sponge for your dishes, laundry detergent, aluminum foil or plastic wrap if you have leftovers. It is a very nice, but bare-bones cabin. We flew in from out of state for a wedding and immediately had to drive to a grocery store for coffee and other essentials.

Cabin was amazing. We had a relaxing get away and everything about this place was top notch.

Property just as described. House and property are very clean, well maintained and a great location for proximity to attractions like Shenandoah national park. The river on the property provided fishing entertainment and background noise to peaceful porch-sitting.

Simple Pleasures cabin could not have been named any better! Everything is top notch and comfortable. The pool table was great, as was the vintage arcade games! We watched otters, deer, blue heron, redtails and more from the porch. Hard to leave this place! The owners are great at communicating and could not be better!

Everything was fantastic. The host has been the best host I have encountered in my nine year experience with renting properties. He is definitely a super host! I will be back and if you decide to rent this property you won’t be disappointed.

I don't have enough space here to describe our stay - husband, sister and I enjoyed the river and the wildlife - and the fireplace inside to end each day. Loved it and hope to return.

Very nice place we had everything we needed. The only thing I didn't like was how to get door open. I had a code to get in but they didn't tell me the key to get in wass behind the code box. Took us 4 try's to finally find the key to get in. That should have been told upfront

The location on the river makes for a very relaxing place to stay.

We stayed a full week and we wish it could have been longer. A great location close to Skyline Drive and other things in Luray. Cabin was so clean it looked brand new, and the area was quiet. Saw a deer across the street. Will hopefully stay again sometime next year.

We loved our stay at Simple Pleasures. The cabin was clean and had every thing we needed. The game room was a great addition as were the rocking chairs on the deck. We would definitely stay again.

We had a great weekend at this cabin. We found plenty to do around town, and also relax at cabin by the river with a fire and great view. We plan to come back again.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Simple Pleasures at the River Cabin! The owners were incredibly helpful and responsive, providing excellent tips on local attractions. We will definitely be returning in the future. Each morning and evening, we were delighted to spot deer around the cabin—on our first evening alone, we counted 93 deer while driving to an overlook Jan recommended! The river offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, and there are plenty of other activities nearby, including Skyline Drive and Luray Caverns. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
