This home was perfect for our getaway! We only stayed two nights to attend a family wedding in Cromberg, but wished we could have stayed longer. The house was beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable and had an amazing view! The communication was fantastic. I would highly recommend!

Dear Travis and Kristen, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your spacious, well-appointed cabin. Your attention to the many details associated with making a guest feel at home was obvious. So many little touches (like the extra phone charger cables in the bedside table) made it apparent to us that you really take pride in your cabin and in making your guests feel completely welcome and comfortable. The cabin itself was exactly as described and we was spotless upon our arrival. When we accidentally left a personal item behind, you were most gracious and speedy in sending it to us. In short, you are excellent hosts and your cabin offers guests a terrific place to stay. We give it our highest recommendation!

We stayed here to host Thanksgiving for several family members that live locally. Even the locals were stunned by the beauty of the surroundings hills and the Sierra Valley. A great neighborhood for walking and seeing farm animals. The house was perfect for all our needs. It was well laid out and very well stocked. Even a much needed turkey pan! There were many appreciated small touches such as soft cozy throws on the couch. The host was very communicative. We look forward to returning in the future!

Beautiful location with a spectacular view of the valley. House is well maintained and very clean and the furniture/beds were very comfortable. Two small suggestions would be a rag/sponge for the kitchen sink and soap/body wash for the showers. We Highly recommend this place and plan to be back for the spring bird migration.

Spent a wonderful week hiking and sightseeing in the Sierras and Lake Tahoe area. The house was very spacious and in a wonderfully peaceful location. We enjoyed the deer, California quail and rabbits who would visit the yard each day. The views from the house were wonderful and, coming from the busy northeast US, very calming. Portola was a wonderful and quirky small town to visit for a meal or grocery shopping (somewhat expensive). Lake Davis was completely uncrowded and another close-by, peaceful destination. The hikes in the Lakes Basin area of Plumas National Forest were outstanding. Amazingly beautiful country. Also, don't miss the less-traveled Rock Lake just up the valley from the super small town of Mohawk. There is also a super interesting gold-mining museum that is free in the unique settlement of Johnsonville.

Extremely comfortable house with amazing views. Epic sunsets with dueling views of the Sierras and the Great Basin from the front porch. Awesome stargazing at night. Excellent location for access to Lake Davis and exploring the area in general. Market and gas a few min away. Great hosts. Hope to stay again. 10/10

We enjoyed our second stay at this wonderful home in Portola. Every window has a beautiful view. After hiking at Davis Lake or enjoying the Lakes Basin area it’s great to come back to a comfortable house and relax with the great view. Sunsets are particularly nice. Thanks for allowing the dogs. It’s definitely a place to return to!

We stayed here for a golf tournament at Grizzly Ranch. The house was spotless and well-stocked with essentials. The golf course was less than a 10-minute drive away. We would definitely stay here again!
