This light-filled and airy cabin, Red Pines Lodge, radiates hospitality and comfort, and is the essence of 'roughing it in style'. The cabin is situated in a beautiful forest of tall Ponderosa pines, firs, and aspens, just a mile from the heart of Duck Creek Village. Outside you’ll appreciate the rustic log construction, and plenty of parking. The enormous wrap-around covered deck features a gas grill, dining for 6, and seating for all to enjoy the cool breezes, glimpses of the Pink Cliffs, or morning coffee while watching the sun rise. In the evening, sit around the backyard firepit on log benches, and make s'mores and memories under the stars.

Inside, you’ll love the tongue and groove knotty pine walls throughout the house, as well as the columns and railings made from native aspen. Cathedral windows bathe the Great Room in light. Here you can enjoy a cozy fire in the wood stove that sits on its stone hearth, while you relax with a book, TV, or surround-sound music. Also on the Main Level you’ll find the out-sized and well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, and a gas range for the gourmet cook; the Dining area with seating for 6-8. There a pretty guest bedroom, the Aspen Room, with a queen bed and private door onto the deck. And a and a full bath rounds out the layout of the main level of the cabin.

On the upper level is the huge Master Suite, with its very large en suite bath including a tiled jetted tub, and a separate shower. Toilet and sink too, of course!

Also on the upper level a pretty loft area (which makes a great extra bedroom with the inflatable bed) overlooking the Great Room. There's also a desk/work area set up in case you need to use your laptop.

On the bottom level is a large and comfy Family Room with tv and lots of seating, and access to the outside patio area. Also on this lower level is the third bedroom (the Buckaroo Room) with two twin beds; a full bath; and the laundry room with washer and dryer.

This cabin can sleep 10 people, using the two queen bedrooms, two twin beds, a queen sofa sleeper in both the Great Room and the downstairs family room. Two additional are possible using a comfortable queen-size inflatable bed that can go anywhere (although we recommend this for children rather than adults). Any occupancy over 8, however, must be approved by the owner prior to rental. Official maximum occupancy is 8, including all children. With three full baths, one on each level of the cabin, there is plenty of access for all. Red Pines Lodge is perfect for a family gathering or a group of friends.

Also note: We have a limit on the number of vehicles which can be on the property. The vehicle limit is 3, with any trailer counting as a vehicle. You may not park a vehicle on any other property without that property owner's permission.

The cabin sits on a level, forested lot, with easy year-round access. National Forest land is only a couple of hundred yards away, and ATV and snowmobile trails are right at hand. Hiking, fishing, biking, skiing, and a myriad of other outdoor activities are all in close proximity as well. Duck Creek and the surrounding area are truly a natural outdoor paradise.

We do not rent to “house parties” or unruly groups. We welcome those who will respect our cabin, and the natural environment of Cedar Mountain.

Further Details - And Things to Do: Hiking, bicycling, fishing, hunting, ATV fun, snowmobiling, skiing, and horseback riding are just a few of the activities in the area. Aspen Mirror Lake and Duck Creek Pond, popular fishing spots for all ages, are just outside Duck Creek Village and within minutes of the cabin. Navajo Lake, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Brian Head Ski and Summer Resort, and Lake Panguitch are all a short drive away. The many marvels of Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Monument are each less than 45 minutes away. And only a little further away are such amazing spots as The Escalante-Grand Staircase National Monument, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (about 2 hours to the North Rim Lodge and Bright Angel), and Capital Reef National Park. For antique shopping and theater, visit Cedar City (30 mile drive), renowned for its annual Utah Shakespeare Festival in summer and early fall, held on the lovely campus of Southern Utah University.

Places to Go: Duck Creek Village is 1.5 miles to the west of the cabin. Distances from Duck Creek Village to: Aspen Mirror Lake 1/4 mile; Brian Head 23 miles; Bryce Canyon NP 42 miles; Zion Natl Park 45 miles; Cascade Falls 4 miles; Cedar Breaks NM 15 miles; Cedar City / I-15 29 miles; Escalante-Grand Staircase NM (Cannonville entrance) 57 miles; Highway 89, 8 miles; Kanab 49 miles; Las Vegas 198 miles; Mammoth Cave 5.5 miles; Navajo Lake 7.5 miles; Panguitch Lake 32 miles

The cabin was absolutely beautiful! Jan was so easy to communicate with the entire trip. Everything was clearly explained and labeled. Anytime we had a question or a concern, I was able to look at the email with directions and everything was right there for us. The furniture and furnishings were so comfortable and clean. The location and land was perfect for our stay. We had one issue and it was handled quickly and efficiently. We hope to come back and stay here again soon!

From the reservation to staying at the house - the process was perfect. The owner went above and beyond in helping us with directions to the cabin and telling us about stores and other offers that the area offers

A lovely escape from the desert heat! The cabin is beautiful and very clean. We've stayed at several cabins in Duck Creek/Brian Head and this is the first one where everything worked! We appreciated the provisions provided and how organized/labeled everything was so we didnt have to spend a lot of time learning our way around the cabin. Truly felt like home away from home.

Hoping to escape the heat of Arizona, my wife and I chose this area and this property to do so. What an excellent choice we made! The house was lovely. Plenty of space to spread out and unwind. It was immaculately clean and the owner spared no expense to include any and all amenities to make our stay effortless. The kitchen included everything needed to prepare a simple breakfast to a gourmet meal. The in-home entertainment was provided by 3 televisions connected to Directv which was a nice surprise as most rental homes nowadays only have smart TV's. The bathrooms had everything provided- shampoo, liquid soap, plenty of towels. The beds all were very comfortable. The owners were just a text or phone call away. I'm sure they tired of my pre-stay questions, but they were very prompt and concise with their response. The location was beautiful. Duck Creek Village is a rustic little town but you could find almost everything you needed. The local Hardware store also has most basic grocery needs and the local restaurant, Aunt Sue's Chalet, stocks milk for those visitors who can't find an open grocery on the weekends. Located almost exactly the same distance from Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park, it is an easy 45 minutes from each. If you're into 4-wheeling, this place is your heaven! Don't forget to visit Cedar Breaks and Cascade Falls. In conclusion, I will say that if you're looking for peace and tranquility, look no further than this wonderful home.

We loved our stay at this beautiful cabin in Duck Creek Village. The cabin's proximity to all the beauty southern Utah has to offer was a deluxe bonus, but once I was there, I could see that a trip there and nowhere else was well worth it. Our cabin was delightfully homey and felt like a big embrace from the moment we entered. We had everything to cook, hang out on the porch, explore nearby trails, lakes, and caves, and have beautiful evenings with cool breezes. Our host communicated well, so we had everything we needed before our stay. Thank you!!

We had a very relaxing vacation here at the cabin. The multi level floors were perfect for my teenager that likes to be a hermit. It was very clean. The amenities were above and beyond; everything that you could think of for kitchen appliances and tools, there was a small pile of fire wood waiting at the front door for the fireplace, the fire pit was set up real nice. The grill was perfect for having dinner on the front porch. I loved the little touches, like the candles and the bird feeders on the porch; that made drinking my coffee in the mornings very nice. The cabin was close, but far enough away, to the little village if you just happen to forget something. I thought it was a convenient location to visit Bryce and Zion NPs. I would recommend this cabin to anyone as long as you wouldn't have trouble with the stairs.
