Stayed Dec 28, 2025This was such a fantastic place, I am tempted to give it a less than perfect rating, just to keep it a secret! The cabin is well maintained, while keeping it wonderfully simple and cozy. The wildlife and sunsets are unbelievable, with our favorites being the resident blue Heron and Dolphins that occasionally passed by. We got such rest and rejuvenation. Connie was an exceptional host and very responsive to our needs.

Stayed Nov 27, 2025Peaceful retreat on the bay. The screened in porch on the back has a comfortable porch swing and beautiful views. We really enjoyed fishing off of the dock. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The living area was also comfortable. It’s not fancy but it has everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Stayed Nov 21, 2025The location was perfect: on the end of a quiet road, but just a short drive to downtown Fairhope. We felt like we were in a peaceful retreat. We would definitely stay again!

Stayed Jul 3, 2025It’s a shack. It is clean, functional, pet friendly, quiet. I was taken back to my elementary and middle school years when I walked onto the screen porch, looked to my left, and saw the bunk beads — I the days before a/c or really when the nights were pleasant, we would sleep on the porch in beds like these at family’s house on Perdido Bay. Kitchen was well stocked with pans/utensils, and pantry items that made sense were also aplenty, left there by previous guest stays. We used some and we added some. My mom had a push button range like this one. And just like hers, one must take special care to confirm that the “off” button is All the way depressed! We were very comfortable, had a great stay, and would look forward to doing so again!

Stayed Feb 1, 2025We so enjoyed our vacation at The Last Shack right on the water. The cabin was so clean and comfortable. We loved the retro vibe and historical features they are preserving. The screened porch was our favorite spot watching the boats coming and going. Watching the wildlife was also a special treat; eagles, ospreys, flocks of seagulls and dolphins. Location was perfect being so private and yet convenient for day trips and eating out in Foley, Fairhope, Daphne, Robertsdale, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone and we hope to return in the future.

Stayed Mar 9, 2024I lived here for 2 months and loved every minute of it. First, the hosts were great and we quickly became freinds. The dock is new and I loved having my boat on a lift there. Want to go fishing for an hour? Just drop the boat and go. There is also a boat ramp less than a mile away. I also did some crabbing and each time caught literally 100 in 3 days each time. Had 2 amazing crab boils. The house is older, but very comfortable with everything I needed. Beds were comfy and the den was also very comfortable. It had everything I needed, a smart TV and blazing fast internet. The kitchen was well stocked with all the plates, pots, pans and utensils I needed. A new coffee maker and microwave rounded it out. I loved the stove, it was an old time type, but cooked great. The screened porch was great for a quiet place to read, watch the sunset or have coffee. There is a new Publx grocery store only 15 min away, and downtown scenic Fairhope about 20 min away. At the shack, you feel like you are miles from anywhere. If you are looking for a rustic experience on an amzing bay near all the amenities you need, check out the last shack!!!
