Our private woodland cabin is only 150 yards away from the beautiful West Seattle/Alki waterfront and 500 yards from the 10 minute water taxi to downtown Seattle. It features a King room, sleeper sofa, and a kitchenette.

Our 80 year old Tiny Tipsy Cabin is perfect for guests looking for unique beauty and convenience, without all the amenities of a hotel.

NOTES: Steps to House. Seclusion = No Internet & Weaker Cell Service.

The space
* Cozy, rustic, King bedroom >* Large claw-foot tub & shower
* Kitchenette w/sink, portable induction cooktop, coffee & tea bar, mini fridge, microwave & basic pots, pans, dishes and silverware
* Full sleeper sofa with sheets in living room

Our 80 year old historic shipbuilder's cabin is on a slight tilt, has running water, electricity, and most modern conveniences(minus internet). Lofted up above the forest floor, you may see as many as 80 species of birds (including eagles and peregrine falcons), as well as the odd deer or beaver from the rocking chairs on your front porch!

The Fairmount Gulch is one of Seattle's last preserved river ecosystems, and the lack of pavement means winters can be damp and muddy, so be careful walking up to the cabin. Once inside the sliding glass doors you'll find a living room with walls of windows that look out to the treetops above and the creek below. Our guests enjoy playing with the board games we provide, reading a book on the porch, and soaking in the antique claw-foot tub.

We don't have a TV, but we do have the iconic view Downtown Seattle, our famous ferries, and our resident harbor seals just 300 feet away down the private dirt road. Truly a home trapped in time, the Tiny Tipsy Cabin is everything this old harbor town once was, and is steps away from the thriving metropolis Seattle has become. Truly the best of both worlds.

Please Note: Cabin is lofted up among the trees, and requires walking up 25 steps from the parking pad to the front door. Our property is wonderfully secluded in the trees, but that privacy also means that we have No Internet service available & Weaker Cell Service.

This was a property that was either loved or hated, according to the reviews. I would like to bring a more measured view. Both my partner and myself were looking forward to staying at this property. The uniqueness of the location and the eccentricity of the property sparked our interest. Our initial view was mixed, a lot of detritus around the property, with a feeling that it was unsafe. After spending some time there, we were charmed by the eccentricity of the house. Yet, the longer we spent in the house, the more it felt that the selling of the property of it being 'eccentric' was hiding a simple lack of investment. The property needs serious investment to bring it back to its original glory. It was trying too hard to be charming and eccentric... but holes in the ceiling, a tub that had seen better days, mice and other fauna finding home inside, random ratty shoes being left around and broken windows, stretched the definition of 'charm' and 'eccentricity'. My partner liked it, his comment was, at least there was a modern toilet, and we were not doing our business in a hole in the floor. This summed up the stay. Would I recommend it? Not sure... for one night, maybe. If you are fit enough to negotiate the 30 steps up from the parking bay. But if you are planning on spending more than one night, maybe look for another place. Or be prepared to accept that 'run-down' does not mean 'charming' or 'eccentric.'

Unique for sure! Simply loved this as it was a perfect fit for myself and dog. Very secluded so close to Seattle. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Parking is small but easy to manage. There are two flights of steps with landing to porch with sitting areas. The lush woods add to the sense of enclosure. Very cool.

We were the previous tenants before the Tiny TIpsy became VRBO. So amazing to see that the cabin has been enhanced and well taken care of, yet we still felt all the nuances of home. I even got a chance to hear the owls again!!

We loved our stay at this cabin. Everything was as described and it is a lovely quiet setting set away from the city. A wonderful home away from home when we were in the city for work.

Great setup, though we did not use the kitchen much. Very cozy with the baseboard heat and a very comfortable bed. The setting is neat. It feels remote yet we’re only 15 minutes by car or 20 by water taxi from the Pioneer Square area where our son lives.

This cozy little cabin is exactly as described. It is a perfect, quaint home base that feels remote, but is close to everything you need. We explored West Seattle, took the water taxi to Downtown Seattle, hiked Chirico trail, and had a fantastic time with this warm, secluded home base.

We really enjoyed the property and its fantastic location; it truly is a great place to disconnect from a busy life. However, our experience was dampened by a complete lack of communication from the host. We reached out early on regarding basic essentials like toilet paper (only a half-roll was provided) and the Wi-Fi password, but never received a response during our two-night stay—nor have we heard back since. While the cabin itself is lovely, the lack of support made us feel overlooked once the booking was paid for. If you plan to stay, I’d suggest double-checking for essentials upon arrival, as the provided board games were also missing pieces or required large groups.

The green surround was charmingly rustic. Parking a little challenging and stairs slightly challenging (we are in our 70s). Warm and cozy - a lot like a treehouse.

Cute place, nice location. Light fixture in kitchen didn't seem to work, very dark in there. Overhead bedroom light didn't work. Bedside lamps were very dim, we bought light bulbs so that we could use the bedside lamps, and had to take them into the dining room to use the table.Dog hair from a previous guest was all over.House was very cold when we arrived and it took us a while to find the heat

Such a unique spot in Seattle! Loved feeling like I was in the secluded woods, just to take 100 steps around the corner to see the beautiful Seattle skyline! Also minutes from the water taxi, and the restaurants right along the waterfront of Elliot Bay did not disappoint!!

If you want to be surrounded by lush green trees and looking for secluded meditation away from people and city noise then you won’t be disappointed. Parking is not for the faint of heart - the road is barely wide enough for a single car so getting a car into a carport can be tricky. My advise - drive a bit forward and then back in into the carport , otherwise there’s no space for turning around. Climbing to the house up several stairs is certainly not for people with limited mobility - very narrow, steep and no rails in some sections. The house itself is very much a tree house, with a tilted floor and bare boards for walls. There is no TV or a radio with alarm clocks so bring your own entertainment, if needed. There is no cooking range or stove, just an electric single burner and a microwave. There is mini fridge so it’s not completely void of conveniences. The deck is overlooking such an awesome green forest but there wasn’t a single deck chair or table there so we had to bring our own set so we could enjoy our meals there. The pillows are very lumpy so you’d better bring your own. But despite these little things we loved our stay here - close to everything, very secluded and quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks!

We have become huge fans of West Seattle after this trip! Your home had the essentials and we slept well. There are a few items we’d love to provide feedback on, with the full understanding of the rustic accommodations:- Lighting in the bathroom was severely lacking. We are not high maintenance as far as our getting ready routines but we were unable to see ourselves in the mirror! -We love a clawfoot tub but the shower liner did not provide closure when taking a shower. Therefore, water simply poured outside of the tub regardless of how we situated the shower head and the liner.-We did notice a lack of cleanliness within your cabin. There were cobwebs all over and dust bunnies under everything. We did enjoy the location in the area! We had a stellar time at Saltys and really loved being able to walk to and from the ferry. Thank you for being open to feedback and for sharing your home with us.
