Secluded Mtn Log Cabin with 100' Waterfall, Pond, and Streams

Property is secluded and naturally gorgeous. Cabin is in the middle of nowhere yet close to Banner Elk and Boone. Near water for fishing. Everything in cabin is as advertised. Very clean. Comfy beds. No complaints!

The hosts here really thought of everything for the kitchen. The hot tub and fireplace were truly a godsend after a long day on the slopes! Highly recommend!

Second time staying here and we will continue to come back. It’s perfect for our family of four. Kids love being in the loft. Hot tub is amazing. They have thought of all the little details. The grounds are beautiful, short walk is a waterfall and a pond. The cabin is far away enough for a peaceful retreat but close enough to be in banner elk in less than 30 minutes. Make sure you have 4WD if there is any kind of snow and take the roads they suggest. It’s a winding road up the mountain but so worth it. We can’t wait to be back!

We were looking for a quiet cabin in the woods, and this was exactly what we were looking for and more! The host was communicative, the cabin was clean and cozy, and the fire place hot tub were wonderful. The location was also great - it was the perfect balance of feeling tucked away while also being close to town. We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon!

Host was great. Cabin is very nice and secluded even though there is another cabin on the property. If you like being in the mountains and in the woods, this is the place!

This was our second stay in this home and we hope to return next year. It was clean, inviting, comfortable, and well-appointed. So much so that we spent most of our time hanging out at the cabin rather than the usual touristy things though we did do some of that as well.

Cozy, secluded cabin in the woods. We had a minor issue, but both Rebecca and David were in constant contact until it was resolved. Excellent hosts, and the cabin was perfect for our needs.

This is a beautiful secluded cabin. Very nicely decorated. We had a great time just relaxing on the porch swing, hanging out in the hot tub and we spent a few hours around the fire ring. The nearby town of Banner Elk is a very nice place to visit, and we had two delicious meals there. Thank you for letting us rent your cabin !

Perfect get away for our girls weekend, second time staying here. Instructions to make the stay great are clear, cabin and amenities are top tier. Kitchen has a great variety of utensils and kitchen gadgets to cover your every need. Comfy and a perfect place if you’re looking for a relaxing weekend away.

We enjoyed our stay! The cabin was clean and comfy. We enjoyed sitting on the porch catching up with family, listening to the birds and enjoying the scenery. We loved exploring around the pond thats nearby and climbing around the rocks in the creek. We hope to come back soon!

We brought our children on a summer vacation to experience the beauty of the mountains. We live near the coast.We loved the incadescent beauty of Bearclaw Cabin. We felt renewed and we enjoyed hiking and the lovely pond onsite. We enjoyed our time at Tweesie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain and Mystery Hill. We also enjoyed local shopping at Apple Hill Store, downtown Banner Elk and downtown Boone.Furthermore, we all gathered around the campfire at night, told ghost stories, roasted marshmallows and made S'mores.Additionally, we swam at Laurel Creek Falls and enjoyed the majestic beauty of the waterfall.We would LOVE to return to Bearclaw cabin one day!

Up and down and all around. I never thought we would get there but, well worth the wait. This property has everything you'll need. We walked around, and went to the waterfall on property. We played in the creek by the pond. We even found some great rocks. The alpine coaster was super fun for everyone. We went gem mining and had a blast. Wish we could have stayed longer but this was a 3 day stop on the way to Carolina Beach. We got mountains and beach on this family vacation.

Such a lovely cabin, stocked very well and very clean. The location was perfect and beautiful! The cabin has a hot tub, but can only be set at 101, enjoyable, but wish we could have set it at a higher temp as it felt like a warm bath. Otherwise, everything was great. Thank you!

Everything was exactly as described and we enjoyed our stay very much. WiFi and television were excellent. Beds were very comfortable. Hot tub easy to use. Kitchen well stocked. Tap water is fantastic! What we really appreciate is the 11am checkout time. The new trend of 10am at most places is just too stressful for our family. We like to leave the place the way we found it. We came in the back way and that is quite a long and winding road. We recommend coming in from Banner Elk, even if GPS brings you in the back way when coming in from the north. Our only wish would be for more chairs at the fire pit-there were only 3. We will be staying here again.

Love location and easy access to nature right out the front door! Only downside is that the hot tub temperature is regulated/ unable to go higher and was not warm enough for us to enjoy. Overall though a lovely cabin.

My wife and I stayed two nights, and I was very remote and peaceful.

Short little visit in the mountains, beautiful , well maintained cabin, well stocked . Host was super friendly, and very informative.

We had a lovely stay at Bear Claw cabin. We walked up to view the water fall and roasted marshmallows over a fire. I would definitely recommend this listing.

Our weekend stay at this tremendous cabin was magical! The host had everything we needed and more. We arrived on the property and had no reason to leave for the weekend. It was a place where lots of wonderful memories were made. Highly recommend the hot tub under stars at night!

Wonderful stay, wonderful host. Extremely professional, descriptive, and helpful. The host listed local eateries, attractions, etc in a binder within the dwelling. The house was immaculate. Very clean and had plates, bowls, cutlery, etc. WILL BE RETURNING!

Perfect place to stay for our little family of three! Most detailed instructions ever from an owner! We tried several of the recommended restaurants and loved being close to snow tubing and Mast General.

The property was amazing, there was a lot of snow, so we didn’t get to do as much exploring as we wanted. But everything was perfect. The cabin was clean and beautiful. They even let us use their sleds. The cabin was very warm, despite the cold temps and heavy winds. We had a great stay. Definitely will be back in the spring/summer. And would like to try skiing again too, close to both Beech and Sugar.

We were very happy with our stay, the cabin was spotless, had all the amenities needed, the hot tub was well maintained and in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend this cabin.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy nature! Waterfall is amazing!!

My family and I stayed here for the week after Christmas. I have stayed in a lot of fabulous B&B's, nice hotels, but this cabin was the best. I never longed for any of the comforts of home -- because they are all here! The couch and fireplace were very cozy. Good wifi and Roku apps on the TV. I cooked several nights and every cooking item you might need was available. Having a washer and dryer was super convenient. The hot tub was awesome. The water pressure in the shower was great and the beds were comfortable.I had a couple questions for the owners and they were super responsive and helpful! It even snowed while we were there! Quiet, secluded but only 20-30 from anywhere you want to be! Highly recommend!

Beautiful property!We came from Michigan, while my son drove up from Charlotte, NC, and my daughter drove up from SC.The area was beautiful. Banner Elk was a fantastic town.

We enjoyed our weekend in Banner Elk. The cabin is basically just as photographed. We enjoyed the secluded woodsy feel. We were a bit worried about the conditions of the area after the hurricane, but wanted to be able to give back to the community with some tourists activities. We enjoyed walking around the property and seeing the waterfall, creeks, and pond. We had originally anticipated getting to fish some, but the conditions weren't ideal and and the streams are still very much in recovery. We enjoy WNC and will def be back across the mountain soon.

Wonderful little cabin in the mountains, so unique decorated beautifully with antiques and thrift finds. Very comfortable very clean it has everything that you.

We arrived late but took our time and had no issues because we followed Rebecca's directions. The cabin is clean and comfortable. The cabin had anything needed for staying in to prepare a meal and have fun with games or just watch a movie. During the day we explored the property and it's beautiful! Great place for kids to have adventures and lots of fun! The only negative (which if you like secluded it's great) was the distance to town (about 20 minutes) so go prepared to stay and enjoy all that this property has to offer!

This was our 2nd stay in this cabin, and it was just as delightful as the 1st. Quiet secluded property. Comfortable. Owner supplies lots of info about surrounding attractions and necessities.

It was an amazing stay for me and my family! With three young children (2-5 years old) there was plenty of adventure to be had just around the property. Location was amazing as well. Far enough where you felt secluded, but right in between Boone and banner elk where you could experience both easily. Definitely recommend!!

Nice quite location, best with AWD vehicle, would be tough in ice and snow. Cabin is nice, great fireplace and the kitchen is well stocked. Could use a light over the stove top. Cabin could use a little basic maintenance but overall a great place to stay.

We made a weekend out of a Friday afternoon visit to Autumn of Oz. We drove the three hours from home in north central NC, went to Mast General Store, ate lunch at the outstanding Puerto Nuevo in Banner Elk, swapped out some books at the Banner Elk Book Exchange, saw the Oz show, and then headed off to the cabin for a weekend of exploring, hot tubbing, showing the granddaughters Anne of Green Gables for the first time, and cooking hot dogs and marshmallows out at the fire pit. The cabin was immaculate, full of DVDs and games, and even the grill was in perfect shape (usually a problem area with short term rentals). We lacked nothing for cooking and eating, and the gas fire place took the evening chill off. We weren't sure about the proximity to other cabins, but it was like being alone on the mountain since we could hear or see nothing except the crackle of our fire pit.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bearclaw Cabin. The property was amazing! I highly recommend.

Property was spotless. Plenty of room for two couples to have privacy, yet, come together for morning coffee and evening card games. The only negative was one bed was a little too soft for one quest. Otherwise … perfect!

We went to the cabin for a ladies get-away weekend (5 of us) and it was perfect! We lounged, sat on the back porch and caught up, hung out in the hot tub, and watched movies from the healthy collection of provided DVDs. A trip to relax and unwind, would be back again for sure!

Truly the cleanest rental I have ever stayed in. Cabin is very comfortable, very welcoming, well organized, beautifully decorated….. Great week catching up with friends, awesome lunches in Banner Elk, wine and movies in the evening.

When the road went to gravel/dirt we both declared uh oh!, but it was not for very long. The cabin is above the road and creek in the woods. Coffee on porch a must!
