Hear was off upon arrival and the floor heating took till next day to warm up. Slept in hats, hoodies and fully clothed. 2 small extra throws and super thin coverlets. Flies everywhere (45 dead flies in main room per day). Double doors could not be locked as installed and blew open. No coffee maker (we bought and left one there), no measuring cups. Very firm beds, none of us slept well. This is clearly an investment property, newly built for rental purposes and it shows. Was told owner would contact but he never did. I provided photos and video to Evolve and was refunded $150. I just cannot recommend this property as is. I was embarrassed that I rented this for my friends and family.
We were a family group with several children ranging from 4 to 17 years old. We planned a week-long family vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday and had a great time. I've worked in the travel industry for over 20 years and can tell you everything went very smoothly, from the reservation process down to coordinating check in and check out. The cabin is lovely and new. That being said, and being in the know, I inquired about cooking supplies for our Thanksgiving feast. The agent was able to tell me what was available and added in the things we required to make a full Thanksgiving meal, from soup to nuts, literally. (My family doesn't mess around when it comes to holiday spreads.). I also had a few other questions about other household items. Given that it's a new property, there were a few things the owners needed to add, and they did. And the agency also informed us of the fly issue that had happened a week or two prior. While we did find several dead flies, in mostly hard to reach spots (upper window sills) we did not have the problem that an earlier guest mentioned in her review. So, the problem seems to have been solved in a very short time. Again, showing the responsiveness of both the agency and the owner. We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and the area surrounding it. Everything went smoothly and as expected. The only suggestions we would have would be adding a few more comfy chairs in the living/kitchen area for when the whole group wants to be together, though with space constraints that may not be possible. And, also a few odds and ends to warm the place up and make it look more lived in. A few things on the walls, area rugs, or a few more side tables/stools to hold drinks, etc. Those are things you learn as you have renters and find out what they request/need. I'm sure they will do whatever they can to make the house even more welcoming. One thing I can say about cabin living is that the walls and floors are not very sound-proof. You could see beams of light come through floorboards/ceilings and you could hear snoring, etc. throughout. Not a big issue unless you have very light sleepers. All in all, it was a wonderful stay, in a beautiful cabin in a gorgeous area. We would love to return in summer or earlier in the fall to see the colors. Thanks!
