The space
Welcome to The Hideaway! A secluded charming retreat nestled in pines, fruit trees, elderberry bushes, maples, and beautiful lawns. The Hideaway property has three unique structures, the Cabin, the Bunkhouse and the Washhouse. Each detached from each other, but very close.
The Cabin, an original first cabin in Monroe, has been restored and holds old country charm. The main floor has a queen bed, table and chairs, a small dresser, and plenty of room to relax. The loft upstairs has three twin beds. The stairs are steep, so probably not a place for Grandma and Grandpa to sleep! The front porch is large and relaxing to sit out and visit or watch the quiet life of our town.
The Bunkhouse has a gathering area downstairs with a dining table, refrigerator, couch, love seat and tv. The upstairs loft has 2 queens beds. The ceiling is low in this loft, but the beds and space are comfy! There is stove but the kitchen is stocked with all appliances you will need to cook. Double hot plate, griddle, skillet, crock pots, toaster, coffee pot, electric kettle, plenty of dishes, pots and pans, spices and even some paper goods. Outside there is a picnic table, BBQ grill, camp chef and fire pit. The porch is so inviting to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and hidden away from anyone’s view.
The Washhouse is large with one toilet, a large copper sink and a bear claw tub with a shower head attachment. There are plenty of large towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a blow dryer. A heat lamp will warm you up on a cool night!
The Treehouse is on the back lawn, built up on 4 large trees. There is power, when plugged in to an extension cord, so kids can sleep, play and also have a great adventure, while staying here. A zip line, for younger kids ( up to 125 pounds) runs across the back of the property.
Enjoy nights around the fire, roasting marshmallows and making memories in a large fire pit area. Spend your afternoons laying in two hammocks, or playing a variety of yard games, available for you to use, on your choice of three beautiful lawn areas. Or get lost in a good book, laying under the shade of the pine trees.
The Hideaway is close to our local grocery store, practically next door and walking distance to everything Monroe has to offer. Come experience the peace and country charm the Hideaway has to offer!

The property was great check-in was super easy. There is one bathroom so you need to account for how many people you have going with you the room where it shows three beds. Those beds are twin beds so be aware of that. They’re also right above the queen bed with the TV and the mainstay cabin. We had a great experience. It was a great time. Lots of fun.

Everything I could have imagined in a cabin getaway! All our needs were anticipated and there were so many fun features. There were indoor and outdoor games and activities. From the tree house and swings, exploring the woods, relaxing in the orchard, or walking to the market for a treat it was perfect!

I absolutely loved this property—what a truly unique and memorable experience for my family and me. The three separate buildings offered so much space and comfort. The bunk house was equipped with everything anyone could need and more for cooking, and it was a great place to gather. There were fun games, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the porch with the communal area provided such a peaceful setting. We thoroughly enjoyed grilling and having fires at night, which added to the cozy atmosphere. The kids had a blast on the zip line and swings, and the clever outhouse-style bathroom was both functional and charming. The cabin itself was absolutely stunning—so comfortable and inviting. The front porch was perfect for relaxing and taking in the scenery. Every detail was thought of, making it an ideal retreat for rest and fun. A special thank you to Jacee for hosting us. My family and I truly felt at home, and we’ll definitely be returning again and again!

Wonderful stay! This charming cabin comfortably accommodated all six of us and had every amenity we needed. It was clean, cozy, and the perfect place for a girls' getaway. We'd definitely stay here again!

The place had everything I needed. It was very clean inside, but the outside was a little rough. Beware, this place is in town, with neighbors. I believe the neighbor to the south is unhappy this place is a VRBO. In protest, they ran a very loud construction site type gas generator all day and all night. I alerted the host, but that didn’t stop the generator… I laid awake in bed until 3am or so when the generator began to sputter and finally quit, apparently out of gas. Negative 10 stars for peace and quiet. I would not stay here again.

It was a unique property and we loved the seclusion it gave us even though it was near Main Street. Perfect weekend for us. Thank you

This place is very cool! It's nestled away, so it feels private, but still close to everything. It is right off of the main street and just a short walk away from the grocery store and hot springs. The property itself was very clean and historic, yet updated. It was a wonderful place to stay.

It was a lovely stay. We enjoyed learning the history of the cabin and all the relics from the past as decorations. My dogs absolutely LOVED playing in the grass yard. It was conveniently located near the local hot springs. We will be back. Thank you hosts!

The check-in process was extremely easy, and the owners communicated instructions clearly. The drive onto the property was beautiful. The grass areas and orchard were perfect for the lawn games available. We enjoyed the treehouse and zipline with the kiddos. The cabin was so cute inside, and the bunkhouse was great with the kitchenette, which was stocked with plenty of cookware. The outhouse was detached but worked just fine for us. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved the zip line and tree house for my eight year old. The two separate bunkhouses were fun, and there was a lot of space. I loved that it was off the road, tucked back. It felt very private and just like the hideaway we were wanting.
