Very peaceful and beautiful property. We had a great time and our dog loved being able to run around. Wouldn’t mind staying again
It was very quiet and off the beaten path. The property was clean and very well maintained. It was exactly the get away that we were looking for. Perfect if you are looking to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. Loved our stay and will be back.
This was our second year at this wonderful mountain retreat. This is the best place for relaxing, hiking and enjoying the solitude with our two adult daughters, 16 month grandson and two dogs. Especially this fall with COVID it was so wonderful to get away but feel safe. The property was extremely clean and comfortable. We loved every minute of our stay. Thank you.
Great fun for dogs and family! Peaceful location as advertised. Just wish we could have caught some fish!
This property is incredible! We came with our 6 year old, 2 year old, and dog ... and did not leave the property the entire long weekend. Absolutely loved it! And the owner was incredibly responsive, helpful, and accommodating. Definitely recommend!
My husband and I as well as our hound dog moose loved the cabin! It was so cozy yet clean and nicely updated. The driveway requires an AWD vehicle and some bravery, but it is totally worth it! The front porch, hot tub, and numerous old roads/trails on the property were our highlights. Plus the bed in the master bedroom was so comfy! Oh and the stars! A perfect place to reconnect for our 12th wedding anniversary.
We cannot say enough amazing things about Jim and Diana’s lovely house. They are so incredibly thoughtful, and even left us the sweetest gift basket for our honeymoon! We booked this cabin to get away with our two dogs after our wedding and it was the perfect escape. We spent mornings in the hot tub reading and listening to the lovely nature sounds and watching the hummingbirds flit around the feeder. The dogs loved being able to roam and play around the property and swim in the huge and incredibly peaceful pond right by the house. There was even a rowboat provided that we took out on the pond! The house was impeccably cleaned and stocked with everything we could’ve ever needed! I do suggest a 4-wheel drive vehicle though, we made it up in our little civic but it definitely took a few tries. We have always loved the mountains and have stayed at many cabins over the years, but this has by far been our favorite! Overall we had an amazing trip and are already planning for a return visit!
Petfect place to unplug and recharge. Started planning next visit after first 24 hours on Doublehead. Hard to find a choice that could have been better for us. Hope the next guest enjoys the bottle of wine we left for them Thanks for sharing this place with all who have stayed here. Tim and Jennifer Childers
This cabin is the perfect sanctuary for a couple or a family. We brought our Doggie and she loved the big open yard. The star gazing at night was epic. The trails around the cabin are easy and a nice afternoon hike does wonders. The road to get to the cabin is a bit steep/ rocky definitely recommend 4 wheel drive. If you are looking for a private getaway this is the perfect cabin. Hidden deep in the mountains for complete nature escape.
We looked forward to much needed rest and relaxation and we were not disappointed. Lovely two bedroom cabin, comfortable bed, nicely equipped kitchen and great porch with hot tub. Cool mountain breezes, awesome trails nestled on beautiful mountain side. Feel totally rejuvenated after this 5 day trip. Great place to stay if you don’t require internet or cell service.
The property was just as described- very clean & very well stocked. We had a wonderful time walking around the property. It was so peaceful & relaxing. The hot tub was definitely an added bonus. We saw quite a bit of wildlife & enjoyed the sounds of nature . We would love to come back maybe late summer & see the difference in the time of year & plant blooms. We will definitely be bringing fishing poles next time. The owner was informative & quick to respond to any questions we had. Overall an absolutely amazing time!!! A BIG THANK YOU to the Rice family for sharing your mountain cabin with us!
