Stayed Mar 30, 2026Natural beauty of this property is truly impressive. I would say it is probably on par with the Great Smoky Mountains just over the back hill from the property. The house is located about 10–15 minutes from the entrance to the national park, and you do not have to drive through the busy downtown area of Pigeon Forge. The house itself is cozy and clean, and the host is extremely responsive. It has three bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and a jumbo-sized kitchen. It was a wonderful experience cooking while watching wild turkeys walk across the front yard.I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for reasonable pricing, plenty of space, peace and quiet, and closeness to nature. One reminder, though: be sure to bring your own shampoo, since the house does not provide it.

Stayed Aug 30, 2025Home was as described and like pictures provided. We enjoyed our stay. The sheets on the twin bed, as well as the pillowcase, did not appear to have been washed prior to our arrival. That was our only issue, other than the bear visitor. Don’t put trash out until you leave!

Stayed Aug 15, 2025Absolutely wonderful location, scenery, completely as advertised. Comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed the front porch with the swing, watching the squirrels, chipmunks, birds and our little lizard friend. It had everything we needed for a memorable girls weekend. Just male sure if your people use alot of ice to purchase a bag of ice to put in the freezer. We did fine with the ice trays so it was not an issue for us! Wifi service was great but cellular service is spotty in the entire area of Townsend. If youre looking for a quiet place to disconnect and enjoy nature and scenery, this is your place.

Stayed Dec 20, 2024We had a wonderful time. The house has all the conveniences that we needed. The shower was great. Couches and beds are comfortable. If you’re coming in the winter and it’s going to be cold, definitely suggest you get firewood at the store to use in the stove. The heat pump causes the living room temp to fluctuate up and down.

Stayed Nov 4, 2024If you enjoy visiting Cades Cove and hiking in the mountains, then this cabin is for you. This cabin is in the valley just north of Cades Cove and is very similar in look and feel. The cabin is secluded, clean and well appointed. Everything works. Very comfortable. Convenient to Townsend town center. Large stores are 30 minutes away in Maryville. We will book again. Stayed Nov 1, 2024We had a great stay. The property was very clean and comfortable. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning and looking out over the mountains. We appreciated the extra blankets, games, and option of different areas of the house to relax in. The only thing I think was a little bit of surprise was the “alcove” with the twin bed. It’s a closet with a bed. No windows so it felt a little tight. We ended up only using the two bedrooms and one of us slept on the couch. But it all worked out and was really comfortable otherwise. I would recommend it for sure and we are talking about using this as an option for next year. Townsend is a sweet little town with a few little fun places to check out. Lots of outdoor spots. We enjoyed the Abbey and the Bigfoot store. It’s about 40 minutes to Gatlinburg which wasn’t too bad for us. We liked being out of town and somewhere away from the busy areas of Gatlinburg.

Stayed Oct 3, 2024The listing almost doesn’t do this place justice. Iwas not expecting the extra living space off the back of the house. Slept like a baby. Nice big walk-In shower. It’s 10 minute drive to town. The privacy and peacefulness were also a positive feature. Authentic hard wood floors are creeky but that comes with the territory. When we come back to the peaceful side of the smokes, we’ll stay here again.

Stayed Aug 14, 2024My husband and I really enjoyed our weeklong stay here. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and we really enjoyed the wonderful theater room although another side table and lamp would have been appreciated. We had several morning visits from a mama bear and her two cubs foraging in the backyard and a lone coyote that would come around in the evening (I think there might have been a cherry tree that was producing fruit). We cooked all our meals instead of going out to eat and the kitchen wasn't super well stocked but it was adequate for our needs. The owners are very nice and responsive. We've stayed at 4 different cabins in the area over the years and this one is by far our favorite. We will definitely be back!

Stayed Jul 22, 2024Take the mile+ hike up the road to the School House Gap Trail. Hikers and horses welcome beyond the fence. Nice, quiet location but close enough to the activities in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Get to the Tuckaleechee Caverns just down the road when they first open to enjoy the least crowded tour.

Stayed Jul 24, 2024Wonderful property, beautiful hill and grounds. Good place for teens and kids to have space to run around. Porches were lovely. The Alcove bedroom is inside the master bedroom, so this does not allow privacy in the master. The Alcove bedroom has no window or AC vent. We made this all work for our family by using the media room, and a kid slept on the couch. The glass room media room was beautiful.
