Come take a step back in time and relax in our 186 year old log cabin. It is an authentic historic structure with added modern conveniences. Whether it's a quiet evening on the porch, a dip in the pool at night under the stars, or coffee with the animals, you are sure to enjoy your stay at our farm as you experience life in a cabin as it might have been in the early 1800's. Our historic cabin can sleep 2 comfortably. There is a queen size bed (remember folks, those big beds didn't existback then), but ours is comfortable! The sleeping arrangement is one bed in the main area of the cabin. The cabin features a full kitchen and quaint bathroom with a modern shower and a period pedestal sink. As a guest at our farm, feel free to roam around. The entire farm is yours.
You may enjoy the pool between 10 AM - 10 PM, mingle with the animals or relax on the porch of your cabin. I am on the property pretty much all the time.
Depending on the preference of our guests, I have spent the whole experience by the pool with some and have not seen others. A heavy continental breakfast (Farm fresh egg and cheese strata, a homemade pastry, farm fresh yogurt, and orange juice) is served either in your cabin, or at poolside (weather permitting) for $12 per guest. We love your fur babies, and they are more than welcome at Coulter Farmstead. We charge an additional fee of $25 per pet per night.
Coulter Farmstead is a luxurious, rustic, and historic farmstead located in Washington, Arkansas that features four log cabins dating to the 1840's and a unique barn loft over an actual working barn that have been painstakingly renovated, as well as an 1860's antebellum Greek Revival home situated on 11 acres with an 1880's historic mercantile. Coulter Farmstead is located on the edge of Washington State Park Old Washington located just a few miles from Hope and Texarkana. Our property is authentic and will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time, but with all the modern conveniences and amenities. Come relax in one of the cabins or barn loft, experience unique shopping in the historic mercantile, or have the perfect intimate wedding anywhere outside on this beautiful property. Whichever you decide, our farmstead is the picture of rustic beauty. It is our hope that you and your guests will feel comfortable and right at home whatever the occasion, as you make memories to cherish for a lifetime. At Coulter Farmstead, drink in the simple, peaceful pleasures of farm life with just the sounds of nature as your backdrop. Experience a gentler way of life in a place where we describe porch sitting, book reading and coffee drinking as an activity. A farm fresh, heavy continental breakfast with a scrumptious cheese strata souffle' with fresh eggs from the family chickens, farm fresh homemade yogurt, a pastry and seasonal juice is available to guests in their cabins.

For us, 2 seniors, the lack of stair railing and comfortable place to put your feet up after 9 hours of driving was an issue. Not a HUGE issue becausewe wereonly thereone night, but would have made us more comfortable. Absolutely great breakfast! Sweet host.

This 1836 restored cabin is certainly unique, all the ambiance of the period, yet the modern updates required. Fantastic host who sees promptly to any needs. Highest recommendation.

This was the most unique wonderful place I have ever stayed. And I was a flight attendant for several years! It was cozy and quiet and had everything we needed. I highly recommend if you are close, stope and stay with the Wests at Coulter Farmstead. Old Washington is a wonderful historical place and staying at Coulter Farmstead was truely the cherry on top!

The Rynders Cabin, at Coulter Farmstead, was a very unique experience!! I would describe Rynders Cabin as romantic, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. It is a place to go if one is looking to de-stress. If I was a writer, this would be the place I would definitely want to go to write. The fireplace in the cabin was a definite plus; although, you can only burn fire logs (not firewood), and you need to leave the cabin clean to a certain degree according to renter's policy. I spent most of my time in awe of the construction of this very old cabin built in the mid-1800’s in historic Washington, Arkansas, State Park. There is no hustle and bustle within the park. The population here, at the time, was only 180. It is definitely worth Googling the historic buildings, which are many, in this small area. The must see, within the park, is the 180-year-old magnolia tree. My main purpose, for this trip, was to go to the Crater of Diamonds State Park which is only 40 minutes away. The drive is beautiful!
