Stayed Jun 8, 2025This is definitely rustic but being right on the river is beautiful. This is the 3rd year we have stayed there and my husband loves the fishing. The host is so kind and stays in communication with you. Love this place!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Lovely location, beautiful view, good spot for fishing, relaxing, good little set up for cooking out and enjoying a fire. The bad part is trying to get to the water the walk ways are bad use extreme caution. However, the cabin overall was nice as a short little getaway but the water backs up quickly in the sink, the toilet doesn’t flush properly, the hot water is extremely limited, soft spots in floor makes you have to use caution when walking.

Stayed Jun 1, 2023Location was very quiet and peaceful. On a dead-end street. So virtually no passing car traffic. Cabin was stocked more than anticipated.

Stayed Jul 3, 2021Cabin was very unkempt. Owners would not message back. Was not advised that the cabin was right next to their kayak rentals, so people were coming and going the whole time. We left a day early due to how disappointed and dissatisfied we were. Will never come back and definitely won't recommend it to anyone. For the amount we paid to stay there they could afford to keep the cabin looking nicer.

Stayed Aug 31, 2025Nice location on river but dock wasn't safe to walk on. Cabin was clean and bed comfortable. No bathroom sink or mirror and shower & toilet was on what appeared to be a closed in front porch and the microwave and fridge was in same location. Very little hot water and hot water heater did not recover very well. I overpaid for this location.

Stayed Aug 23, 2025As billed, it's a rustic cabin! Beautiful location right on a bend of the Kalamazoo River. Very close to Fennville and Saugatuck (7 and 15 minutes, respectively). The cabin itself, as has been mentioned in other reviews, is very bare bones and shows its age a little in places, but we found it to be clean and stocked with the necessaries. Probably wouldn't want to spend a rainy day cooped up in there but we lucked out with weather and spent the majority of our stay outside enjoying the scenic location. The nearby glampers were a little loud at night, and there are occasional freight trains passing through, so bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. And be sure to rent a canoe or kayak next door and explore this lovely stretch of the river if you get the chance - it was definitely the highlight of our trip!

Stayed Aug 3, 2025Thecabin was more spartan than we imagined. Simple, well equipped with fridge, sink, shower, toilet, bed, futon and peace and quiet. Our family completely enjoyed the simplicity and serene environment. Our grandson went fishing EVERY day. The canoe rental was convenient and relaxing. Coda, the silver lab was content with watching fish jump and turtles swim. Having Warren Dunes, with a pet friendly area so close was amazing for our beach fix. If you want peace and quiet and no fuss or luxury amenities, this is the best camping situation having all your needs met without the hassle of hauling equipment. The thing we would suggest are some upgrades to the stove, doors, paint (inside and out) and entrance. In fact, we would be happy to help. We have flipped three homes and are experienced with older structures.

Stayed Aug 6, 2025This was a nice time for us to relax and unwind for a few days. We might plan on visiting again in the future! The kayak rental is nice and close, and the river is very peaceful and calming. You might want to bring your own fan. Nice neighborhood. Overall good experience.

Stayed Jun 22, 2025The place is wonderful. But the house had giant ants, and the kids were afraid. The linens were only on the bed and not on the couch. Only one towel, old and ripped. No cutting board. Disposable dishes were piled behind the furniture, and we felt they were dirty and used our own. The house is good for 2 people max. But overall, we had a great time there. The river view is incredible.

Stayed May 8, 2025The cabin was a peaceful oasis right on the river! They had a fire pit to relax at night and a swing by a picnic table to enjoy my morning coffee and watch the sunrise. Great location, close to holland but far enough out to get peace and quiet.

Stayed Sep 20, 2024My husband and I wanted to have a place to stay where we could fish the river from our rental. This place did not disappoint! As it states in the listing, it is semi-rustic. No fancy amenities, just the very basics. We loved it! Julie was a great host. She is very friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to staying here again next Spring or Summer.

Stayed Aug 22, 2024Such a great stay, host was very sweet, she even gave us some fire started for a wonderful riverside fire. The cabin has all the basics you need to get by. No more than 3 people can sleep comfortably. Futon in the living room was not comfortable, but bed was fantastic for my daughter and I. You can easily get to saugatuck, Holland….. Hiking, canoeing, Delicious restaurants, restaurants, and lots of activities, including putt putt.

Stayed Jul 22, 2024The cabin was just right for my husband and me. He was able to fish and I was able to check out the historic bridge nearby, go for walks and watch the river. There is a train that passes through infrequently. We did not find that to be a problem. I recommend the cabin to anyone who wants to get away from it all and wants to be close enough to get to beaches and towns on Lake Michigan. Any kayakers would be really pleased with this location.
