This place was AMAZING! What a fantastic spot to relax. Plenty of space to spread out and wind down after seeing the sights of the area. Plenty of open space to view the stars.
It was perfect for us as seniors! The quiet country setting away from tourist crowds was so relaxing. A perfect home away from home.
House just right for 6 adults. Prefect for the Nat Parks. Out by itself no neighbors little town of Lia had the prefect grocery store.
Enough rooms we could enjoy the common area, but still have space to sleep. Beds were comfy. The floor is squeaky so, don’t put light sleepers in the basement.
My sister and I stayed here with our children for a few days. We loved the fire pit and swing, the beautiful views. We found everything we needed for cooking meals for our large family. My brother and his kids stayed nearby but came over often. There was enough room for everyone to play games and relax. Excellent communication from the owner / property manager. Would stay here again!
Everyone in our group loved our stay at the Rustic Cabin. The 20 min. drive to the National Park is a straight shot down HW 24 and very convenient. The decor is loving done (make sure to check out all the cute lamps!) and fits the scenery. Communication with the property owners was prompt and easy, and there were zero bugs during our stay. Such a pleasant stay, highly recommend.
Great central location foe exploring. Plenty of space and everything we needed. Will recommend to other friends.
We enjoyed our stay near Capital Reef. Very cute and quaint decor. There don’t seem to be a lot of options in close vicinity to the park so we felt very lucky to find this place.
Great place to make base camp. Had really everything that we needed to cook and have fun hanging out before and after riding our motorcycles in beautiful southern Utah. It was clean and quiet and having a set of horseshoes to play was a bonus after a long day of riding.
We had a large group and we all loved our stay! The cabin is large enough for everyone to have free-roaming room, but cozy enough for intimate nightly gatherings rather than everyone going off into their rooms. The property is large and the property owners have but a lot of love and care into the upkeep and design/style of their cabin. 20 min. From Capital Reef. A small 1940s movie theater close by, restaurants, gift shops, etc. Highly recommend.
Very nice. Clean. Well equipped (including knives & nonstick skillets for eggs). Plenty of space. Nice layout. Kids loved the yard and firepit. Highly recommend.
This was a great property for us close to Capital Reef. It is a bit of a rustic property, but that is part of it's charm. It is very nicely decorated. It is a bit older, so not a brand new modern facility. Just depends on what you are looking for. But considering the limited opportunities in this area, this is a great find.
Good: - Owner of property was responsive and friendly. - Location is fantastic. It's both secluded yet near a small town and very close to Capitol Reef National Park. - Property is generally pretty neat. Bad - There were, without exaggeration, hundreds of flies (both dead and alive) during out stay inside the property. - Property address does not show up on Google maps nor Apple maps. Drove around for about 40 minutes trying to find the place; finally kind of recognized the building from the pictures. - There was a used towel hanging on a door handle from the prior guests. - Property management company (Evolve) simply didn't respond to a general inquiry on date changes a couple months in advance of stay for well over a month. Summary: We checked out a day early as the flies were so gross. In particular the master bedroom and master bath would have dozens of dead flies accumulate on the floor and vanity every few hours. We'd have to sweep them up just to put our toothbrush down or walk across the floor. The owner was very kind when we texted about the check-in process and seemed to feel bad about the flies when I let him know...but didn't offer any refund at all. Similar experience with the property management company. When I emailed about the flies and the early checkout they simply said no to a requested refund of a night and coldly referred to the rental agreement as reason for saying no. I want to give this property a higher rating due to some nice potential and great location (I do not relish giving such a poor review), but sadly the experience was just too poor to do so.
The cabin is not sealed well enough and there was a major fly problem. There were even flies in the refrigerator and toilet. Ugh. We did however enjoy our stay in this very rustic cabin. The one bathroom has gross looking rocks around the hot water heater. We did not communicate with property manager.
We enjoyed our stay. Thank you
Our group enjoyed our stay at this rustic cabin. It was clean and comfortable. It was an excellent location for exploring Capitol Reef National Park and other area attractions. The yard outside around the property was a nice place to hang out after a day of exploring (especially for the kids). Grateful to have stayed here.
We had a wonderful time in such a peaceful location! We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds during the relaxing mornings on the porch and watching the stars on the quiet porch and swing in the evenings. The house was comfortable and perfect for accessing Capitol Reef. We truly enjoyed our stay in the peace and quiet.
This house has tons of room for 10 people. We were only a group of 5 so it was exceptionally comfy. Every bed is super soft and cozy. The house was very clean and definitely has a mountain log cabin feel. We loved the fire pit and also sitting on the back deck. The house does not have a dishwasher, but we had no problem washing the dishes by hand. The Google Maps did not quite know where the property was so it took a bit to figure out where it was, but once we did it was very easy to get in and out of. Great house!
We stayed at this charming property for two nights in the middle of a 10-day vacation through Utah. From the moment we entered the spacious home, everyone in our party of 10 (two families) knew that this portion of the trip would be a highlight. The home has a cool rustic ambience but with every modern convenience, and our teens played horseshoes, played board games, and played the piano. We built a fire in the firepit and used the nearby swing to our hearts' content before making s'mores and marveling at the stars we could see in this part of the world. Its proximity to Capitol Reef was terrific, and our post-park burger binge at Slackers was also memorable. The host was extremely responsive and we were all sad when this portion of our trip came to an end. This property is well-priced, well-represented, and even better than a traveler could ever hope for. Thank you!
Great quiet property. plenty of space. However, since it is large property, we found not enough utensils and china.
