This rustic and sophisticated cabin is nestled on a mountainside near the French Broad River. It is located on nine private acres secluded from the Partridge Hill main house where the owners live. Partridge Hill was once owned by the author Hamilton Basso who was a close friend of Thomas Wolfe. Wolfe and Basso spent many hours on Partridge Hill and would love the inviting ambience of the cabin known as The Partridge Nest. The cabin features two queen-sized bedrooms and two full baths withan additional sleeping area in the cozy writers loft. Amenities include a beautiful and well-stocked kitchen, dining area, wood-burning fireplace, and a full screened porch with a mountain view. The interior design is comfortable, inviting, and mountain inspired.

An ideal get-away spot, the cabin is secluded yet only four miles from Brevard where there are fine restaurants, the Brevard Music Center, Brevard College, and many great shops. The Pisgah National
Forest is just minutes away from your front door and offers some of the finest hiking, rock climbing, and fly fishing in the East. Majestic waterfalls are all around the area as well. The Brevard Music Center is renowned nationwide for it's summer musical presentations and it's students typically go on to major careers in music. Keith Lockhart is the artistic director and principal conductor.

You will forget time as you sit on the old-fashioned porch swing enjoying the mountain view or reading a book in the cozy loft. You will return to the real world rested, renewed and looking forward to your next visit to The Partridge Nest.

The Partridge Nest was featured in the February 2018 issue of OUR STATE magazine in North Carolina. There are several pictures and a very informative story.

We will definitely stay here again. We have been coming to Brevard for a couple of years but branched out to stay in a house this time. The hosts were absolutely fantastic. The house was a home that was well stocked and comfortable. It provided anything we could ask for.

Our stay was everything promised and more. The house was secluded and quiet yet only a short distance from town so you had the best of both worlds. Charlie and Jean were very quick to respond to any questions we had. I appreciated their help with directions and local information. This was my first time booking a VRBO and I was very pleased. I would definitely stay here again.

What a fantastic cabin in an amazing, remote location with such attentive, welcoming hosts! Everything about this cabin is just perfect if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just relax in front of a roaring fire.

Simply perfect mountain cabin. Meticulously decorated, well stocked kitchen, private but close to Brevard and hiking.

We spent a weekend at this cabin when we took our youngest to his camp drop-off and picked our oldest up from his - this location was ideal: very close to Brevard which is a really neat town, but also “away” enough that it is private and has a mountain retreat feel. The cabin itself is an absolute gem - it’s beautifully and comfortably decorated - very cozy in its “feel” while also providing “elbow room” for a family The back porch was an ideal spot to enjoy my coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night. We met one of our hosts when he came to say hello and make sure we were comfortable; we loved chatting with him and appreciate his taking the time to be a true “host” and offer lovely Southern gracious hospitality to us. We truly enjoyed ever moment of being there and we will return! If you’re thinking about this one, book it!!!!! You will not be disappointed!

This cabin was a wonderful find! It has everything you need and then some! We really enjoyed the mountain views from the porch swing, watching the light change the shapes of the mountains as the sun set. It's close to Brevard and great hiking. We are already planning a return trip!

We were all meeting up to celebrate our Mother’s birthday and have a quick relaxing get away. The cabin was exactly what we needed and were hoping for! As soon as we walked in we loved all the details and charm of a cabin that somehow made you feel like you were home. Close to Brevard and all of the great trails to hike. We are already looking forward to a return visit. The owners were so nice and welcoming. The perfect place for a mountain trip!

We learned about this particular cabin from a write-up in a local magazine and decided that it would be a great spot to get away after a busy holiday season. Partridge Nest and its host, Charlie, made for a great experience! Charlie provided great directions and tips on how best to find the cabin and navigate the turn up to the house. The cabin itself was fully furnished with everything necessary for a winter stay, including all the wood stacked and ready for a fire after hiking all day. The cabin is conveniently located for easy access to Brevard, Asheville and all the restaurants and breweries in the area. We will be back again for another stay!

The house was tucked away so much so that you felt that you were in the middle of nowhere, but really only a few minutes away from town. Enjoyed the house because of the rustic feel to it and overall layout. Will definitely book again.
