Stayed Feb 4, 2026Could not have loved this cozy cabin more. Great location, in a neighborhood near to the downtown but still very much felt like you were in nature with pretty mountain views. It was very clean. The screened in porch was so nice to spend time on and had fun sitting in the hot tub. I would love to return to this cabin anytime I am in Black Mountain!

Stayed Mar 9, 2026This is a beautiful cabin perfectly suited for a couple or a small family. The space is cozy and well-appointed, giving off the feeling of being well-loved and cared for. Everything from how meticulously clean it was when we arrived (the property from the kitchen to the hot-tub was spotless) to the binder with the extensive archive about the cabin's history speaks to how special this place is to the people who have owned it over the years (including the current owner, who is friendly and communicative). My partner and I loved out time here--being in the spacious outdoor porch feels like being in a treehouse, the furniture is very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed in terms of equipment to cook meals during your stay (although naturally there isn't cooking oil or spices etc. so you will need to make a thorough grocery run if you plan to eat in). By the end of the visit it truly felt like home. If you appreciate a property that has been remodeled with the utmost respect to the original building and its history (while being eminently comfortable by modern standards) this is an excellent choice, particularly if you like being close to town. The cabin itself is situated up on a hill overlooking a cute neighborhood, and while there are houses visible (particularly in spring before the leaves come out), it is definitely as private as can be expected being so close to town. Highly recommended.

Stayed Dec 17, 2025This cabin is great. Very cozy and rustic yet clean and comfortable. The host gave great instructions and was responsive. The town of Black Mountain had plenty to offer and is just a 2-3 minute drive or 17-20 minute walk away. Despite being that close, the cabin is at the edge of town and has a remote feel to it.It was nice to see that the owner has retained some of the old height measuring planks from the family that used to own this place.

Stayed Dec 27, 2025The cabin itself was lovely albeit the shower is very small so keep that in mind. The hosts clean up instructions were a little vague (take trash out but we could not find the trash can etc.) and he had a harsh attitude in communicating, but the accommodations were very nice.

Stayed Nov 6, 2025This was the best trip ever! The cabin is super cozy and convenient to downtown and Asheville. The little extras and treats the host left were the best and the shower cap for me was perfect! The hot tub was very nice on those cooler evenings and the old school feel for us was truly amazing. The wood games, the record player and VHS tapes were very nostalgic to us. We also liked your Toyotas! We will definitely be back.

Stayed Jun 18, 2025The cabin is truly a beautifully preserved historic home from the 1940s and feels like stepping into a summer vacation from days gone by. We loved the views of the mountains and forest around us and even were graced by a mama bear and her cubs. The record player, vhs tapes, and variety of cool things to do around the cabin kept us entertained even when relaxing around indoors. Black Mountain is also a beautiful little town with lots of unique shops and restaurants. We look forward to returning one day! Thank you so much!

Stayed Dec 27, 2024We truly enjoyed our stay at Seth’s cabin. We felt very welcome upon arrival and it was the perfect secluded and relaxing place to call home settled among the mountains while also being so close to shops, restaurants and grocery In the adorable town of Black Mountain as well. We looked forward to soaking in the hot tub each night, watching VHS movies (they have an amazing collection) by the fire and cooking in the kitchen while listening to records. Even had s’mores by the outdoor fire pit! I’m confident you’ll love this cabin as much as we did! We can’t wait to return

Stayed Sep 12, 2024Cabin just as described. No surprise neighboring rental cabins, this place is located in a private residential area and above neighbor homes for views over those rooftops. At this time of year, full tree canopies offered privacy and only small glimpses of other homes. The hot tub is on the open side porch but with a roof - a great place to relax with a mountain view, even in the rain. The screened porch off the living room is also lovely with a wooded view and all the sounds of nature. I chose to sleep here one night for a nature experience without bugs or laying on the ground. Overall a great place for our family to spend a couple nights in Black Mountain NC.
