Escape to Moonlit Cove, a romantic Lake Eufaula retreat designed for two and positioned to capture some of the property’s most beautiful sunsets and shimmering water views.
Inside, you’ll find a king-size bed, Jacuzzi tub, comfortable living area, and everything you need for a relaxing couples getaway.
Step outside onto the spacious covered patio to enjoy sweeping ridge views, watch local wildlife, or unwind with a drink as the sun sets over Lake Eufaula. A private firepit with seating creates the perfect place to end the evening beneath the stars.
Moonlit Cove is Cabin #8 with the blue door and is part of Calico Heights, a 12.5-acre wooded retreat with nine cabins thoughtfully spaced throughout the property for privacy and beautiful lake views.
Guests also have access to shared Calico Heights amenities including the hiking trail, grassy outdoor areas, storm shelters, and The Trading Post, our 24-hour guest supply location near the South Gate offering small appliances, games, movies, ice, pantry items, toiletries, and other essentials.
Parking for one vehicle is available near the cabin walkway, with additional on-property parking available for a second vehicle or boat.
Calico Heights is private and gated while still being only a short drive from Longtown and Eufaula for restaurants, groceries, shopping, and lake activities. For a nearby meal, we recommend Dobbers Roadhouse in Eufaula.
Pets are welcome subject to the property’s pet policy and applicable charges, with a maximum of two pets per stay.
A storage and laundry area shares a wall with Moonlit Cove and may occasionally be accessed briefly by Calico Heights staff. We respect guest privacy, but minimal activity may occasionally be heard from this area.
Please note that Calico Heights overlooks Lake Eufaula but does not have direct lake access. Nearby public swimming and fishing areas are available.
Storm shelters are available on the property during severe weather. Roads are paved nearly all the way to Calico Heights, with the final approximately one mile consisting of maintained gravel road.
Ask us about celebration packages that can be prepared and waiting for your arrival.
Smoking
All Calico Heights cabins are non-smoking inside. Smoking of any substance is permitted outdoors and on patios only. A $200 fee will be charged if smoking is detected inside the cabin.

Pets
Pets are welcome with the applicable fee of $50 per pet, per stay, with a maximum of 2 pets.

Pets not disclosed on the reservation may be subject to a $75 fee per pet.

For the safety and comfort of our guests, pets, and property:

Pets must be leashed when outdoors and in common areas.

Please keep pets off furniture, beds, linens, and Jacuzzi tubs. Pet beds are welcome.

Please pick up after your pet both indoors and outdoors.

Pets should not be left unattended for extended periods unless safely kenneled.

Excessive barking is not permitted.

Excessive pet hair, damage caused by pets, or additional cleaning required because pet guidelines were not followed may result in additional charges.

Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in and check-out times are established for each cabin. Because Calico Heights operates on a strict cleaning and turnover schedule between guests, early arrival or late departure is only permitted with prior approval.

Unauthorized early arrival or late departure may result in a $50 fee.

We want you to enjoy as much time as possible at the property, so please contact us in advance if you would like to request an adjusted arrival or departure time.

Linens & Towels
Please use the provided makeup towels and appropriate cloths for cosmetics, skin-care products, or other products that may contain bleaching agents.

If provided linens or towels become permanently stained, bleached, or damaged beyond normal use, the following replacement fees may apply:

Bath Towel: $10
Hand Towel: $5
Washcloth: $3
Sheets: $30
Bedspread: $50
Mattress Pad: $70

Damages
Guests are responsible for damage to the cabin, furnishings, or property beyond normal wear and tear.

Please notify us promptly if something is accidentally broken or damaged during your stay. We appreciate knowing as soon as possible so we can repair or replace the item before the next guest.

Well, mistakenly wrote my review of this wonderful cabin on a hotel site. We truly enjoyed our stay here. Peaceful mornings on the porch drinking our coffee and enjoying the lake view. One morning we had rain and found it just so pleasant to sit on the porch and listen to the gentle rain through the leaves on the trees. Even though other cabins are pretty close, the foliage blocks that view and you seem quite isolated. Would recommend for anyone needing a calm, restorative visit.

Great place quiet and secluded. The road is gravel the last mile or so but that adds to the charm. In a few years the trees might be grown enough to block the amazing view. If the trees are on Army Core of Engineer land then there maybe rules about not trimming them unless the trees are “dead” I don’t know this as fact but I’ve been told by other property owners at other lakes that this is or was the rules there. They call it the blue cabin but to me it’s gray. That’s trivial just don’t be looking for a true blue cabin. Look at the pictures and judge for yourself. Again GREAT PLACE! Never the less we loved our stay and would stay there again in a heartbeat!!! Note: Captain John’s is a good restaurant in Eufaula.

The cabin was decorated so beautifully and thoughtfully detailed. Everything was blue! Down to the shelf liner! Being detail people ourselves, we appreciated that. And that view!! Those sunsets!!

The cabin was as represented it was clean and well stocked. The porch light is out and that created a bit of concern going up and down the steps. Once I found where to plug in the accent lights it was better. The ice maker in refrigerator did not work other than those two small issues everything was great. We would definitely stay here again.

What an amazing birthday weekend! I told my husband I wanted a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of our every day life, and did this place hit the nail on the head! We felt right at home. The bed was comfortable, the deep jetted bath tub was amazing and the view…THE BEST! We spent the majority of our time on the deck grilling and enjoying the view! I can’t wait to be back and explore the area! (The ONLY downside for us was there was no oven or toaster oven…we cook all of our meals due to a deathly allergy, but we just made some modifications in the meals we bought). It definitely wasn’t a deal breaker at all. I just felt it was worth mentioning for future guests.

Property is pleasant with a Great Lake view. Maintenance on this property is lacking. Air conditioner doesn’t work properly 80 degrees in the afternoon. The tile in the bathroom floor has holes, needs re-grouting . Dead plant on top of the refrigerator. Wall clock doesn’t work.

Cute house! Great view! Very relaxing. Would definitely recommend to others! It's not directly on the water, but the relaxing atmosphere was more important for us and the lake was only about 5 minutes away by vehicle. It was clean and check-in and out was easy. Deb was quick to respond. Great place!

Was exactly as advertised! We had a wonderful time. Breathtaking is an accurate description. Wonderful sunsets…..as well as dark skies!!There is also a nice easy walking trail. Bed was super comfortable. Whirlpool bath was nice. The tap water was very good…that was a complaint i read in a previous review. WiFi also worked great! We have no complaints! Highly recommended!!!

I enjoyed this property! Waking up to the view of the lake was amazing. The house was nice and updated and the ground were very nicely done. The only thing I could say was inconvenient was the internew didn’t work all that well but nothing at fault of the owners and it was simply the location, but they had dish tv so we could enjoy that. Also the heating unit was a little loud but they had a cozy fireplace in the wall that provided some heat as well during the colder stays. Overall awesome getaway location for a couple!

Cabin was as advertised. Kitchen came fully equipped with a stove top, microwave, no oven, grill on deck, utensils, pots, pans, plates and glasses. Bathroom had everything you needed as well towels, ropes which we absolutely loved, shampoo and bodywash. The view was amazing from all angles. Definitely recommend this cabin to anyone. We would rent this cabin again. Perfect for a Couples Retreat.

This was our second time staying at calico heights. This time we stayed in the blue cabin. It has a really nice covered patio that faces the lake. We sat out there every evening to watch the sunset. The views are AMAZING!

Property is just as described. We would stay again 👍 Only thing I would advise future visitors is to consider bringing their own drinking water. The ice and water from the refrigerator was out of order and the tap water tasted very unpleasant.
