This property exceeded our expectations and then some. We wanted a fun, end of summer weekend and this was a perfect ending. There is literally anything you could possibly need and more! The views are absolutely stunning and so much space! Kayaking, swimming, canoeing, fishing, football, s’mores, mountain pies and plenty of space for the kids to find their own space to retreat to when they wanted a break. They spent a lot of time looking for crawfish and exploring the river bank. We cooked each night under the pavilion, which is an AMAZING space. Our most favorite part was the clear evidence of family memories and fun that have been created here over the years. We will absolutely return and recommend this stay to anyone looking for a charming and rustic stay. (Also, check out the artwork spread around the property…. best artists on the Allegheny!)

We come home to Pittsburgh every summer to visit our hometown and big families. To make it more fun this year, we decide to go “up camp!” I loved tent camping and staying in my godparents cabin as a kid and was thrilled to return and show off the fun and beauty of the area to my kids, husband and in laws. We had a bit of a rough start dealing with a fallen tree blocking the driveway and a downed power line but handled that and got to making fun memories the next day. The property offers many opportunities for fun in and out of the water. The fire pit area offers both covered and uncovered areas to sit, talk and gather around the fire or enjoy a meal on one of the many picnic tables. My BIL was able to bring his camper and that allowed us to spread out and gave us more space. The bunk house was great for all the kiddos and main house bed was good for my husband and I. The only thing that I really missed was having an oven but that’s because I like to do lots of baked goods and casseroles for large groups. To be honest the pictures on the property aren't as nice as the actual place. Hope to return again soon!

My husband and I sought a few days of privacy, tranquility, and nature with our dogs, and the Riverside Retreat delivered perfectly! This beautiful and unique property offers direct access to the Allegheny River, making it an idyllic getaway. The owners were delightful, and the rental provided a wide range of activities to enjoy. I’m excited to bring my 10-year-old nephew and his friends next time—they will absolutely love it. We will definitely be returning!
