Bord D’eau - A Riverside Retreat on the Toccoa River

Welcome to Bord D’eau (French for “Beside the Water”) - a charming, upscale riverfront cabin that offers the perfect balance of seclusion, comfort, and adventure. Pronounced like Bordeaux (the wine), this beautifully designed retreat sits just 50 feet from the pristine Toccoa River, where the gentle flow of water over a natural rocky fish trap creates a soothing soundtrack for your stay. Whether you’re here to relax, fish, kayak, or simply enjoy the outdoors, Bord D’eau offers an unforgettable escape.

A Unique Riverfront Location

One of the most unique features of Bord D’eau is its stunning river bend location, allowing for breathtaking upstream and downstream views from both the east and west sides of the property. With 150 feet of private river frontage, guests can enjoy fly fishing for trout right from the backyard. The Toccoa River is stocked multiple times a year, making it a favorite spot for anglers. If fishing isn’t your thing, watching canoers and floaters drift by provides a fun and peaceful way to pass the time.
The cabin sits on 1.1 acres of beautifully maintained land, featuring a flat, park-like setting with towering trees, lush grass, and plenty of space for outdoor activities. Whether it’s a game of catch, relaxing on one of the 2 wooden swings under the trees, or gathering at the large outdoor wooden picnic table by the river, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

For the ultimate relaxation, soak in the outdoor hot tub by the river, where you can unwind under the stars, listen to the gentle sounds of the flowing water and let the stress melt away.

A Thoughtfully Designed Cabin

This custom-built cypress wood cabin is designed for both comfort and connection with nature. Inside, the open floor plan creates a warm and inviting space, with the kitchen, dining, and living areas flowing seamlessly together beneath soaring ceilings. The gourmet-style kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and features a gas stovetop with a vented hood, perfect for preparing meals after a day on the river.

Sleeping arrangements:

Master Suite (Upstairs): Private retreat with an en-suite bath and a private balcony with stunning river views.
Two Bedrooms (Downstairs): Cozy and inviting, sharing a well-appointed bathroom.

Our home also includes Fiber Internet (Fiber X). You can stream the DISNEY BUNDLE which gives you access to Disney+, HULU LIVE TV and ESPN +.

Guests will love spending time on the 300 sq. ft. screened-in porch overlooking the river, perfect for morning coffee or evening meals. An expansive open deck on the entry side of the cabin offers additional seating and space to soak in the natural beauty.

For the ultimate riverside experience, step out onto the large dock extending over the river’s edge, where you can unwind with a drink, listen to the water, and watch the sunset paint the sky. As night falls, gather around the fire pit to share stories, roast marshmallows, and create lasting memories.

A Peaceful Yet Convenient Location

Bord D’eau is nestled in a quiet, low-traffic neighborhood of upscale vacation homes along a private dead-end road, ensuring peace and privacy while still being just 10 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. With easy access via paved and gravel roads all the way to the property, you won’t have to worry about navigating steep mountain terrain.

For added comfort, the cabin’s deep artesian well provides pure, refreshing drinking water straight from the source.

Endless Adventures Await

Bord D’eau offers the perfect balance of tranquility and adventure, with countless activities nearby:
Fly Fishing: The Toccoa River is Georgia’s #1 trout fishing destination.
White Water Rafting: Just 30 minutes away, the Toccoa River turns into the Ocoee River, famous for its thrilling rapids.

The cabin was the most beautiful we have ever stayed in. Florence was a pleasure to deal with, which made the weekend enjoyable.

We had a wonderful stay. Cabin was very clean and welcoming. Despite not catching any fish, my kids had a great time trying. It was also fun keeping up with the water releases at the dam and watching the river levels change. This is a very nice neighborhood, and we enjoyed walks down the road in the evenings. Will definitely be return guests!

Florence was a great communicator, from the initial booking, to wishing us safe travels home. The cabin is beautiful and in such a beautiful location. The amenities are great and the cabin is well furnished. We hope to make this an annual trip.

Florence the host/owner is so easy to communicate with and quick with responses. The house is beautiful, quaint and cozy, has everything you need including wood for the fire pit. Does not feel like a rental, Feels like you’re staying with a friend. Beautiful property.

The location on the river was perfect. The host was easy to communicate with and was gracious enough to offer us an early check in and late check out. One little thing my spouse and I discussed was that the cabin seemed to be very well stocked and furnished. So many time when we have stayed in rentals they have poor cutlery and are not stocked well with utensils and cookware. This cabin was stocked with items like we would have at home. It was a nice little feature and we were grateful for the nicer items when it came to cooking. The beds were all comfortable with quality bedding. There are two grills on the property, a charcoal grill and a gas grill. We only used the gas grill. It was a nice Weber grill similar to what I have at home.

The most perfect location for a surprise anniversary weekend for my husband. He loved being able to walk out a fish whenever he felt like it. The screened porch was enjoyable. The house spacious, incredibly clean, most comfortable master bed and couch! The only thing that could have made it better would have been a couple more days! Already looking to book a weekend this fall and bring our son for a fly fishing course and some cool fall weather with a fire.

Probably our favorite VRBO we've ever stayed at! Everything about Florence's home is thoughtful and comfortable, and we enjoyed every minute here. You can tell that a lot of love went into this home. From the amazing outdoor areas for lounging and fishing to the hot tub and screen porch, we made the most of all the property has to offer. We can't wait to come back!

Cabin was great! Easily fit 4 adults 3 kids. Nice big kitchen to cook in. Lots of seating area inside on screen porch or outside by the river. Yard was huge for kids to run and play in. Enjoyed watching fire flies, roasting marshmallows, saw plenty of deer and owls :) kids enjoyed playing in the river when the water was low. ( must make sure of dam times !) we appreciated that we had a hot tub right there on the property to jump into after a cold plunge in the river. Cabin not to far from town for shopping, restaurants and grocer. We would stay again for sure !

We had such a wonderful time at the cabin. The cabin was super cozy and welcoming. This property had everything that we wanted. It’s right on the river so easy access to fishing. I was able to sit on the dock with our older dog and just watch the people come by on the kayaks. We saw so many deer they were everywhere. The screened in porch was my absolute favorite spot. Drinking my coffee and reading a book. It’s also close to downtown blue ridge. We had such a pleasant and peaceful stay. The host is super helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend for your stay in GA

My family of four and my inlaws enjoyed this property so much! The home is beautifully decorated and warm. It has everything you need to cook and clean easily. The setting couldn’t be more picturesque and the fishing was excellent even with a storm one night. The placement of the dock and fire pit in relation to the property is perfect. We brought our frenchie and he loved the screened in porch for lounging and watching the boys fish all day. We really wanted to relax and this was the perfect place. Even the dirt road to the property is well maintained. This is a no stress location and perfect cabin for a true week away. Blue ridge is just about 20 minutes away with an easily accessible Ingles grocery store for anything you need! Can’t recommend this place enough, my family and I will be back!

This home was perfect for a family get away. The picturesque property, comfortable amenities, and stellar communication from property manager and owners made for a seamless experience. Waking up to the sound of Canadian Geese landing on the river behind the house, Wow! I only wish we could have stayed longer.

The place was gorgeous. Something for everyone. The cook in our life loved the kitchen and all of the kitchen gadgets. The fisherman loved being able to take just a few steps to the water. The baby was able to use the baby gate and was able to play on the screened in porch. We played games, used the large fire pit and clean hot tub. We had a blast as a family.

This beautiful house with the suite above the garage was perfect for our family vacation. We appreciated how well stocked it was for our arrival, especially the gourmet kitchen. The huge screened in porch overlooking the river was perfect for our active toddler. There is plenty to do in the area, but we mainly enjoyed relaxing on the swings, and fishing off the deck on the river. Excellent home for us all from 6 months old to 65!
