Fairbanks, Alaska
About this space
Serene and scenic - our clean one-room cabin is on the popular Chena River! You’ll love our place because of the isolated Alaskan experience it offers for couples and solo adventurers. This is a dry cabin but we take care of you! Nice camp shower and sink available in a separate out-building (shared with 2 other small cabins) plus a clean outhouse (private) near the cabin. Drinking water and coffee included. 5 minute drive from the airport, food and stores - yet offers peace, quiet, serenity!
The space
Our cozy cabin is one small room with a queen bed. We provide a small frig and a Keurig coffee maker with fixings for coffee, hot chocolate or tea. There is a radiating electric heater for those cooler nights!
Yes, it is a "dry" cabin - that means no running water (like a real old-time Alaskan!) but don't worry! We have a nice shower room in an out-building available for your use - and of course the private, clean outhouse. Shower (clean, heater) available May 25th through Sept 15th (or until freezing weather arrives!) and shared with other cabins.
You can enjoy sitting on the dock or walking along the river on the grass. Use the picnic table any time and the swing chair. Or ask us if conditions are right to have a campfire!
Guest access
The cabin area (including the outhouse) and along the riverfront (including the dock) is the space we ask our guests to use freely. The fire pit is available for use depending on weather conditions. Feel free to sit on the swinging chair!
If you would like to invite friends for a game of frisbee or something in the big grassy yard, just ask us ahead of time please! When driving to the cabin, be sure to stay on the driveway that goes behind the house and along the treeline. To turn vehicle around, it is okay to back up on the grass.
Other things to note
We have a radiating electric heater for heat. Please keep the heat down when you are out for an extended time. Of course, if we are having warm weather you will not need it at all!
Outhouses don't 'flush' so don't worry about finding a flushing mechanism in ours!
Fairbanks in the summer is the Land of the Midnight Sun... so, that means it is light most of the time in June and July.
