I could not have been more disappointed with the reality of this cabin versus the (obviously highly photoshopped) listing. It was dirty, there were white stains all over various walls, the windows were dirty, and everything was broken and missing. The hot tub was broken, the garbage disposal was broken, the TV was broken, the cabinet the TV was in was broken, even the master bedroom door was broken. The leather like couch was busted open with tears and open stuffing... There was a gross laminated but moldy sign about the garbage disposal being broken, so it's obviously been that way for a while. While there, my dog found a mostly empty can of crusty pet food under the table that had clearly been there for a long time, and everything was out of stock: spices, laundry detergent, etc. I reported this all, got terrible customer service, and got a very pitiful refund of a small portion of cost of staying there. For the amount paid, we could have been at a high-end hotel, but instead we were sitting in someone's dirty, ramshackle, falling-apart cabin and being treated poorly by the management team. I will NEVER rent a Vacasa property again.
The house is situated on the river bank. The day when we moved in, we witnessed torrents running swiftly in the river and it was impressively beautiful. When staying at the upstair loft, it was another astonishing scene of overlooking the water running outside. It has been raining everyday during our five days stay, and it was quite a pitty that we could not go on hiking as what we have planned to do but couldn't due to the weather conditions. The house was clean, despite a very old and leather-torn sofa in the living area and a couple of broken lights. There are lots of hiking trails and parks in the area. If with good weather, it is absolutely worthwhile to spend time in the area.
Please was great for a quick weekend getaway. Loved the views.
We loved our stay here and will definitely be back in the future! Thank you
with the sunshine, the views of the mountains and the river were wonderful, and that is what we were coming for! two large sliders had failed, so would be great to replace someday for the views. we covered the poor couch, for it was peeling and rough. need new fry pans or bring one with us next time. she's rustic but has great character!
This is a wonderful place to escape and enjoy riverfront relaxation. The cabin has a modest but functional kitchen, fun loft space with beds, clean bathrooms, and fun streaming options on the TV if you wish to look at a screen. The best part of this place is being on the river with access to trails and outdoor activities. It was sad to see the devastation of the rock creek fire across Hwy2, but selfishly and fortunately the cabin doesn't face the burnt mountain. It's a good reality check -- cherish the woods.
The Jacuzzi didn’t work and the owner does not provide wood to make a fire
When we booked, our search was for a home on the water with a hot tub. This home seemed to check all our boxes. I read the reviews and some people had prior concerns about a non-functioning stove, sketchy oven and other various things that weren’t necessarily make or break things for us. We booked, and to be clear, at the time of our booking this was listed as a home with a hot tub as an amenity. When we arrived the hot tub was non-functioning at all. When I reached out to Vacasa they told me this was not an offered amenity. When I informed them that it was a listed amenity at the time of my booking with photos and all, they basically said “bummer” with no attempt to make things right. We could have easily chosen a far less expensive rental without a hot tub but we chose this rental for that relaxing amenity. There was no warning or notification ahead of time that this amenity was removed or unavailable. As previous posts stated, the oven is sketchy but works, the stove is wonky and only half of it works. The home isn’t in the best shape overall and the leather couch is shredded to bits. There is so much potential in this home but so little effort is put into it. We were super disappointed for the price we paid for a weekend away, no hot tub, and complete lack of care from vacasa when we reached out.
Thought there were outside chairs and fire pit. Pics look like you can go down to the river, did not find out you couldnt until we reserved the place.
The location was delightful next to the river and the woods smelled so fresh. Had to figure out how to use the coded door, but finally figured it out. Nice to have a fire, it was cozy and relaxing. Loft was roomy. Some Teflon cookware needs to be replaced, appreciated the stainless steel pans. Hope to be back!!
My pup and I adored this cabin! It's a great price, great location tucked away in Baring right along the river. Close to Stevens for skiing! It was amazing to have the sliding doors open during the day to listen to the river and not worry about privacy. The floor to ceiling windows are stunning! This is an older cabin with charm that I loved; well maintained and well stocked (full kitchen, bathrooms, firewood, games). Wifi worked perfectly -- I was working remotely and had several video meetings without issue, and easily hooked up my computer to the tv to stream March Madness. I was bummed that the hot tub was not available during my stay but these things happen. Without needing to ask, the Vacasa team recognized the error and proactively refunded the fee I paid for that amenity, and have removed it from the listing until fixed. The customer service was great and consistent. I received a text within 30min of check in to make sure I was settling in alright and that the cabin was clean. I never waited more than 5min for a response from the customer service team and the property manager. I definitely recommend this spot and I'm excited to get back to this little slice of heaven!
We absolutely loved staying here. The view of the Skykomish was our favorite part by far. The huge windows and a fire burning make for such a relaxing evening..especially for the one sunny day that we had. Thanks so much for hosting!
This is a comfortable cabin with a wonderful setting. It is lovely to go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of the river. It is close to hiking and even a coffee shop in Skykomish. Staff was responsive to one of the small issues which needed attention.
Great place to spend a long weekend! Beautiful surrounding mountains, the sound of the river next to it, fire fit, hot tub, cozy cabin with big windows. Loved it!
Absolutely lovely place, perfect location and scenery. Total relaxation. My husband and I loved it so much we booked it immediately for the next available date before leaving.
We celebrated our 20th anniversary here and had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful, comfortable, and exactly what we wanted. Checking in was frustrating as I had to call the day of for instructions eliminating the possibility of an early hike on the way there. The cleanliness was questionable as there were lots of dog poop piles outside, hair in the bathroom, a used bar of soap in the shower, wrappers under the couch, and a gross grill that we had to clean before we could use it. We also were left with no soap to be able to wash dishes, a broken dishwasher, and a scary stovetop burner that should come with a safety note. We drove to the little store and bought cleaning supplies and left the home the way we would have liked to have found it. We truly soaked in so much happiness there and despite some initial frustration, we had the best time! We hope to stay there again in the future, it really is a special little place.
Aside from the old appliances this place was just what we needed. A good size for 7 people. Communication with the owner would not be something you should count on, tried 3 numbers and I've not heard back about a device i left behind though. Beautiful views though.
The river bends around the cabin with spectacular views from the floor to ceiling windows. The hot tub is clean, comfortable and modern. You should know there's no wifi, but the smart tv flawlessly streamed netflix, etc. We bought wood for the fireplace, but couldn't find a lighter or matches to light it or the grill, but small things like that are inevitable in a vacation rental. The beds in the loft were comfortable as were the furniture in the living area. Kitchen was well equipped. Washer and dryer was a big plus. I would definitely stay in this cabin again. It was private and beautiful and perfect for the two of us.
