If you want a peaceful, serene area to stay. This would be it. Cabin was beyond expectation, pictures do not do it justice. Absolutely stunning, with plenty of room with many areas as not to feel like you are crowded. The rooms were spacious with private exits to the most beautiful deck, private areas to go to unwind and commune with nature. The deck was amazing. The house had most everything you would need to cook. There was also a propane grill, we did not use it, but it is available. Tastefully decorated in PNW fashion. I didn't get to meet Jay, but Jan was the most gracious host you could ever expect to meet. The property was close to Mt. St. Helens, The Ape Cave, Cougar, Washington, Yale, Lake, Merwin Lake. Woodland, Washington is a small town but there is a Safeway Grocery store. We also ate at many of the local restaurants: Pizza Factory, Oak Tree, and Rosies. The food was on point. Service was excellent and pricing was fair. This place is just amazing. So glad we went.
Could not have been more perfect. Highly recommended!!!
It was the most amazing experience. The pictures of the property does not do it justice. It was right on the river, very private and serene. Close enough to local stores and restaurants. Which by the way, were excellent. All the food we had was way above par and the service excellent. The property itself is just lovely. The deck went on for ever and ever. The interior was tastefully decorated and provided enough room for the six in our party. Each bedroom had a private deck with private space. We never felt crowded as the Cabin had ample space that provided privacy. The kitchen provided most of what anyone would need to cook. If you are planning a visit to Mt. St. Helens or the Ape Cave, which we did. It is the perfect location. The drive took less than and hour and you were able to visit Cougar, WA, Yale Lake, Merwin Lake. Unfortunately, because of the smoke viewing of the Mountain was not great. The Ape Caves are fascinating but not for the faint of heart. Not sure I would venture with really young children. If you decide to make that trek be prepared. The venue is hosted by Jan and Jay. We only had the opportunity to meet Jan. She was lovely and most helpful. They live on the property but trust me, you are given the upmost privacy. Wonderful people. Easy drive from Tacoma area. Getting into the property may seem tricky. If we managed it most will be fine. All in all it was one of the best experiences I have had in a very long time. I loved every minute of my time in Woodland.
We stayed here for a few nights and really enjoyed every moment of it! The place has everything you need and comes with full facilities of a modern house. Beautiful outdoor sitting areas with views to the river complete the holiday vibes and relaxing experience. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful as well!
every effort was made to create a truly comfortable vacation rental, very clean and well appointed. Probably the best place vacation rental I ever stayed
The cabin is perfectly situated for relaxation. Quiet and surrounded by natural forest and river, and is very private and comfortable. Immaculately clean, fresh, and well appointed, it is situated a few minutes drive from services inWoodland while feeling far away from the hustle of normal life. Our hosts, Jay & Jan, provided a warm welcome, and were very informative of all aspects of the local and regional area. We really enjoyed our conversations with them.
This is the perfect place to experience peace in a natural setting. The cabin was immaculately clean, exceptionally appointed, and like new. A serene, private, and natural setting among mature forest, river, and birds. Long term residents of the area, Jay and Jan were welcoming, knowledgeable, and informative of the area, history, and attractions. We hope to be able to stay there again.
The house was immaculately clean. The owners stocked the house with all the amenaties a person might need when away from home. The master bed was comfortable and the pillows and sheets were soft. The owners were friendly, outgoing and communicative and were ready and willing to answer any questions we might have. Overall it was an incredible experience. The deck overlooks the Lewis River, a perfect place to sit and drink coffee on a crisp summer morning. The accomodations were perfect for us. Originally when I planned the trip I was thinking about getting a hotel in Woodland but after thinking about it some more I realized that traveling with an infant is much different than traveling solo. I used to stay in alot of hotels around Oregon and Washington while working out of town doing construction projects and its not a problem when you're alone. But when you have a 15 month old that loves to squeal LOUDLY you can become unpopular with your neighbors fairly quickly. So even though I tend to be a penny pincher and usually I would have opted for something a little cheaper, I decided to spend a little more and I AM SOOOO GLAD I DID. This worked out perfectly for me and my wife. We were able to go where we needed to go and visit with family and friends and then rest at the cabin without being disruptive to others and also experiencing some much needed rest and relaxation ourselves in a very beautiful setting. Highly recommend.
