Our cozy cabin is located in the Mystic River gated community along the banks of the world renowned Nantahala River with the Nantahala National Forest along the facing bank. The cabin was built in the early 1970 prior to the current 25 foot building setback requirement, part of the cabin is literally over the bank of the river. Because its river bank location is grandfathered in we are very limited in our ability to alter or remodel. The unique location of this cabin is part of its charm. If you are looking for a luxurious newly built cabin, our property is probably not for you. The cabin is very modest and basic but has everything that you will need If you are looking for the most unique location in one of the most beautiful river settings you will ever find and are willing to accept clean but minimal accomodations, then you will enjoy our property. A private get away from the busy world.
Fish from the deck if you choose or watch the whitewater rafters float by just a few feet away, wishing they had your view. We have 2 miles of private river frontage plus 2 islands for your fishing and hiking enjoyment. You also have access to miles of private hiking trails, fish pond, and pond side pavilion in our nearby sister community.

If that is not enough excitement, how about a white water raft ride down the Nantahala River stopping off at your own private cabin for a half way break or just relax on the covered porch and watch the river pass by.

Whatever your idea of a vacation in the Smokey Mountains includes, our riverfront cabin is the perfect lodging solution.

We have multiple properties so if we don't have availability here we may have something open so please ask.

Cozy cabin. Incredible property right on the river. Cool mornings drinking coffee and listening to the river and birds. Fly fishing right out the back door. Loved sitting by the campfire in the evening watching the fireflies all around. Appreciated the puzzles and being able to have our dog with us. So much to do in the area. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you for sharing this piece of heaven on earth.

This rental was amazing! Clean and the view was phenomenal! All of our time was spent on the back porch relaxing or trout fishing on the river! The owner was quick to answer any questions we had. Our dogs had a blast also. I will definitely book this cabin again!

This location was absolutely beautiful. Our family enjoyed this house from the moment we pulled in the driveway. This was our first time Whitewater rafting as a family, so it was really special to be right on the Nantahala river and watch the rafters go by , especially after we went on one of the rafting trips and saw our guide go by . it was great fun! This location was a dream and we had an amazing time. I really appreciated the privacy of the location and it was close to everything we wanted to do.Trudy was so quick to respond and very kind and we will definitely plan to return next year!

If you are a person or persons that loves a relaxing place to stay, this is the place. It sits within very few steps of the beautiful Nantahala river covered with mountains front and back. But the best is sitting on the little porch listening to sounds of rushing water and if you happen to like trout fishing the backyard fishing has the perfect site. Can't wait till the next trip,

If you want prime riverfront property full of trout look no further. Read the listing, this is not club med. If you’re looking to be outdoors this place is perfect. If you stay up late enough a cute little couple of river otters who have no sense for personal space will make a showing.

Great location, could not ask for better. The cabin is not fancy, but knew that going in. Who needs fancy with the surrounding nature. The windows however need new screens. They had big holes in them, and a lot of dead bugs. It would have been nice to open windows and hear the river. Otherwise, loved the stay.

It is a super location on the river with privacy. There is road noise but didn’t really bother us. It’s tough to fish the river because its flow is controlled by Duke for whitewater activities but there is fishing opportunities very close by. Very relaxing with fire pit and pretty much everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Our dog loved it!

Trudy, the property manager, is amazing and incredibly responsive. The river front setting is amazing. The cabin is basic and aged. There is traffic noise. Trudy does her best to give you the best stay possible.

This was our second stay at this property and we fell a little more in love with it! The view is the absolute best! From mountaintop fireworks to a beaver swimming around before dark; we love it here.

The physical location of the property was great, on the river as described. As others have mentioned it's not a luxury property. The 2 recliners need to be replaced. The entire cabin needs a deep clean. Dishes were dirty and there was an ant problem. Beds were ok at best; if you like firm you should be ok. Road noise was a bit annoying. 2 AC window units, 1 is loud and honestly a mini-split would do a better job. I had a good time enjoying the river but felt the price was a little high considering the above.

The cabin was exactly as listed! If you're looking for luxury, don't book here! Think of it as a glamping experience. Everything you need to enjoy nights by the fire, grilling dinner, trout fishing, hiking, whitewater rafting or kayaking, and just enjoying family and friends with a warm or cool place with a comfortable place to sleep at night. And the location!!! Absolutely amazing. Plenty of space for three adults and two teenagers right on the Nantahala River! We will be back!
