Finally able to check out Ruidoso, NM. Heard so much about this area. Living in Texas, but from Wisconsin missed the forest atmosphere. Downtown felt like being in the Wisconsin Dells. A great taste of home. Shopkeepers so friendly and was very happy to be able to bring our dog along. The cabin was perfect for our escape from the city. Loved the hot tub and afternoon reading on the deck outside.Supper was steak, shrimp and baked potato on the grill...perfect! Thank you for a great getaway.

This is a great small cabin on a hillside with a very large fenced in yard for the dogs to enjoy. The cabin was decorated in a super cute manner and the beds were comfortable. We had fun going to Cloud Croft and visiting the locals lakes. We had an elk hop the backyard fence and nibbled while we took pics. We saw wild horses in town enjoyed the perfect weather!

We really enjoyed this cabin. The directions were helpful as google maps did not send us to the right place. The cabin had everything that was needed. We enjoyed the hot tub and the deck, and most importantly, the view!

The house is very comfortable and in a beautiful location. Our only problem was following GOOGLE directions. We ended up down in the middle of the flood damage! Everyone should use the directions supplied by Hummingbird to get there safely! It was a great trip. We will be back.

When we first arrived, I was disappointed by how dusty many surfaces and parts of the floor seemed. The keurig and coffee maker looked like they also needed a good cleaning and the floor of the shower had dark streaks. I later discovered the toilet was not thoroughly cleaned when looking at it from the side while the lid is up. Lastly, me and my husband wished there had been curtains or blinds for the front door and kitchen window. It felt creepy at night knowing someone could easily be looking in. I appreciated most of the back windows having shades, though. While these issues need to be dealt with on the behalf of future users, the house ended up being quite a treat. It felt more private, just as was promised, even though it was in a neighborhood. It was mostly quiet (aside from construction), and was just what we needed. The hot tub was awesome, once we kind of figured it out. The bed was comfortable! We could not figure out the fireplace, though it was not pressing since it was the summer. We called in about it our first night and the lady who answered said she would write it down. I cannot remember if she said to call back in the morning, but I thought she said we would be contacted that next day. I never heard anything back from them during our stay. But it seemed a minor problem.

We did not get to come due to a family emergency and no one cared about even trying to help with a refund when we really needed the money back. So we pretty much just paid for nothing.

On the plus side: The cabin itself was as advertised. Clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the cowboy theme. Our dog was well-confined and enjoyed the fenced back yard.On the down side: Access to the cabin was complicated by the neighborhood and it's location. Much of the surrounding property was rundown or overgrown.Being older adults we found the uneven flagstone walks posed a fall-hazard. The lot next door was littered with trash The hot tub area was uninviting to say the least. There were many electronic devices throughout the cabin but almost no access to actual TV programs etc. If you can't do stairs well you are confined to the interior and the front walkway. This is a nice cabin in a poor location with come up-grades needed.

This was our second time staying in this house. It's a lovely house and great that it's dog friendly with a fenced yard. My only complaint would be with the shower. It's all or nothing, you have to have ot turned on all the way or you have no water pressure.

We absolutely loved the River Ridge Retreat. The cabin was perfect for our little family stay. The fireplace was great. We enjoyed having a hot tub and the location felt secluded and private in the woods but still convenient and close to town. Beautiful views every morning and we got to enjoy the snow in the mountains! The hill getting to the cabin is really steep on one side but the other side of the street was easier to navigate in the snow and ice. Just know there are two ways up and down and believe the listing when they tell you to use chains and/or 4wd. We have a 1 ton diesel truck with 4wd so we did not have any issues. My husband and kiddo really enjoyed the area and especially the Winter Park with snow tubing so we hope to be back soon and would stay at this cabin again if available.
