River Front Cabin with Mountain Views

We were there in late March to attend events in Lake Placid. It is comfortable, warm and welcoming and very well equipped. Very quiet neighborhood, and you can't beat the view and the sound of the flowing river. It snowed while we were there and the driveway was quickly plowed. If you look at the photos, you can see this, but the bedroom does not have a door that closes to make it completely private (it's more of a studio set up - one of the walls of the bedroom is a storage system that does not reach the ceiling). And, yes, be ready to climb the stairs, but the sunlit cabin and view is worth it!

We had a wonderful stay here. The space was cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were very responsive and helpful whenever we had questions, which made the experience even smoother. And the view truly can’t be beat—it was one of our favorite parts of the stay. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful place to unwind.

We had a wonderful time staying here. The cabin’s location is absolutely amazing, with beautiful views of the river, pine trees, and the mountains - perfect for peace and quiet. It’s only 15 minutes from the ski resort and about 30 minutes from Lake Placid and a supermarket.The cabin is very cozy and well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Even though a couple of days were really cold outside, the heating system worked perfectly and kept the cabin warm and comfortable. With many nearby hiking trails of varying difficulty, the peaceful and beautiful nature makes every walk a joy.

The cabin was amazing! Super clean and cozy, with a fully stocked kitchen and great views. Just right for our family of 3. Loved having access to the garage to park the car out of the snow.

The house was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. It was just what we needed. My only complaint was that the tub drained needs to be checked after every guest. It had a bunch of hair in in from the last guest. The house was well stocked and the rest of it was clean. We would go back again.

Second visit this fall to this house and did not disappoint. Absolutely beautiful sunsets from the house and stunning colors all around. Amazing weather to enjoy three hikes to fully experience the different mountains and views.

We loved our stay at this VRBO. Location was beautiful and quiet. Perfect after long days of hiking. Loved view off balcony and trekked down to water. Very clean and stocked with necessities and also some extra food stuff/ice I didn't think about. I would definitely stay here again.

Property was very clean, nicely appointed, and in a fabulous location. A rocky river is within 100 or so feet from the cabin. Additionally, Lake Placid is 20 minutes away. If you like to hike you'll find trailheads about every mile in the High Peaks area.

The VIEW! We were in awe of the amazing view of the river and mountains from the cabin during our entire visit! We had a fun little adventure going down the steep ravine to get to the water with our two bigs dogs, but it was well worth it! Everything about this place is wonderful, both inside and out. I liked being in such a quiet and secluded location while still close enough to all the things we wanted to do and see - Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain, High Falls Gorge, a gondala ride and hiking. The cabin is even better than what you see in the pictures. I would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed staying here. How we wish we stayed for more days. It’s very peaceful. My husband likes to sit at the back to see the sunset. And of course it is close to lake placid, Ausable chasm and high fall George. We will plan to go back.

This cabin is perfect. I have booked this cabin several times with my husband, and this time I booked it for a gals weekend getaway with my friend, and we had a blast!It's cozy, quiet, clean, and close enough to all of the hiking, swimming, shopping, and dining we could ask for. The view from the back deck is breathtaking.

It was the perfect location for us, being only a short drive from many of the local sites (Whiteface Mountain, Lake Placid, etc.). Check in was easy and the hosts were very responsive. This was the perfect home base for us when we hiked the nearby Great Range Traverse. The cabin is comfortable and the location is beautiful. We explored the river and loved sitting out back watching the starry sky at night. Would definitely stay here again!

This was everything I was looking for to get away for a few days. It was secluded and quiet, but still quick and easy to get into town. The cabin had everything needed to prepare meals along with a grill and a fire pit for s’mores The views were breathtaking and I enjoyed sitting out on the balcony listening to the river.

This efficiency cabin is perfect for a couple looking for some peace, quiet, and solitude. The river can be seen from the kitchen/living room and the small deck and the comforting sound of rushing water can be heard everywhere on the property. The accommodation was very clean and well appointed, with everything one would need provided and in good condition. We would stay here again.

Exactly what we wanted, cozy and clean cabin with all the amenities near a river with a Mountain View. Did some river fishing in the back, made a fire, went hiking a short drive away. Perfect experience, will be back.

Great location with amazing views. Has everything you may need for a multi day stay. Tons of appliances, utensils, spices, etc. 20 minutes to whiteface mountain which was perfect. The garage is awesome to get your car and boards out of the weather. Highly recommend this place.

Such a pleasure staying here for the long weekend! We liked being a little out of town, and when snow came in at over a foot, Mary and Greg were very responsive with plows and help. The view was beautiful and such a nice cozy stay.

This stay was absolutely perfect for my wife and I. It was close enough to Lake Placid and Whiteface where the drive to and from wasnt bad at all & it was secluded to where we could relax and look at the amazing views at the end of the day to wind down. Will definitely stay here again!

Cozy cabin with beautiful view and easy drive to many attractions.

We spent ( My Gf and our 3 huskies) spent 5 days here and it was perfect! The set up and location were highly ideal for what we wanted to do on the trip. Having the beautiful Ausable river right in the backyard was really nice.

Another fabulous stay. My husband and I love that this location is convenient to Lake Placid, Wilmington, and Saranac Lake. Mary and Greg are top notch hosts and accommodated all of our needs. 10/10 would stay again.

Very cozy cabin , nice location by the river , 35 minutes drive to Lake Placid .

For my wife's birthday, she wanted to hike Big Slide mountain. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. The view from the balcony was breathtaking We would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a getaway in the Adirondacks.

This is a little gem! It's comfortably furnished. Charming woodsy decor, great kitchen! The best view to look out on of the mountains, it takes your breath away! I got great pictures! It must be awesome at peak color! You can even hear the sound of the river below. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, this is it! The stairs to get in, are a little steep, but we are in our 70s, and did ok with them. Baldwins from Depew, NY

We absolutely loved the cabin and the property. The views were breathtaking! Close to lake placid and the North Pole. Everything was great and 100% as described. We really enjoyed how rural and quiet it was. We brought our two Jack Russels, and even they were relaxed and chilled out! We enjoyed the river and views. If we uad one complaint it would be the mattress. I could not get comfortable at all. The couch was a bit better but we ended up leaving a day early to get into our own bed. Over all the place was great and relaxing except for mattress. Thanks,Chris.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. The hike to the river was a little steep but managable - well worth it. The use of the garage was a plus. The location was quiet with a nice view.

Great little place with an awesome view. They had all the things we needed. Paper towels, soaps, toilet paper, towels, sheets, etc. Hosts were great to answer a few questions we had.

Well equipped. Beautiful spot with the sound and sight of the river all day. Lots of space in the garage for sport items brought along. Convenient for close-enough laundry grocery in Ausable Forks and good sandwich shop in Wilmington.
